  • How to get Best Resolution from iPhoto to iDVD

I have some excellent photographs in a slide show that I want to burn to iDVD. I have tried sending to iDVD but am not happy with the resolution. I have read on this forum that the resolution will always be less when transferred to iDVD.
So my question is in two parts
    1. If using iDVD what steps can I take to ensure the best resolution? I can't crop to screen size at it ruins the composition.
    2. If not iDVD then what will give me resolution as good as or nearly as good as the original slideshow?
    Cheers
    Ollie

    Hi Olie,
It's late so I'm to lazy to google it but is Australia PAL or NTSC? In North America we are NTSC. This means that a DVD will have a resolution of 720x480. It won't matter how high of resolution your files are or what program you use to create the DVD: a standard definition DVD will have 720x480 pixels. Next, the whole DV/DVD specification was designed for motion video, not for still images. So, in general, it is a good idea to apply at least a slight motion keyframe (Ken Burns effect). The following tutorial actually uses PS and After Effects but it gives you an idea:

Of course there are some high-defination DVD options on the market now... in the $1,000 range for a burner!

  • How do I get better resolution on my ipad2 camera

How to get better resolution from my ipad2 camera

The resolution of the camera is tied to hardware not software.  As James Ward4 said,  keep the lens clean and shot in the best lighting possible.  Shooting in dim light is the same as any other point and shoot camera.  The camera will try to compensate by slowing the shutter down so you will probably introduce camera shake into the mix which will blur the image unless you have the iPad stabalized on some type of tripod or camera mount.

  • How can I get full resolution from my Mac mini?

I have a Mac mini (Late 2014) and an LG 27MP35HQ-B monitor. I’m using an HDMI / mini-DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) cable.
The 27MP35HQ-B supports resolution of 1920 x 1080. The Mac mini supports resolution of 1920 x 1080 using the HDMI port and up to 2560 x 1600 via the mini-DisplayPort.
But the best resolution I see on the Displays Preferences menu for the Mac mini is 1600 x 900. Any suggestions on what I can do to up the resolution?

Yeah, that sounds about right for a camera of that pixel count.

  • How do I get conflict resolution from poping up?  It is saying I have conflicts between MS2008 Entourage and MS2011 Outlook.  This cannot be because I have removed both programs.

I have recently upgraded to MS Office 2011, Home & Student version from MS Office 2008, Home & Student version.  I tried the trial version of 2011 which had Outlook as it's mail/address/calendar program.  Using the 2008 version of MS Office, Entourage was the contact program of choice.  I have since decided not to use the Outlook program because of too many bugs and am now using Thunderbird for my email service and Apple Address Book for my contact information.  I therefore deleted the Outlook and Entourage address book.  Yet, "Conflict Resolver" keeps poping up and is saying I have 1015 conflicts!  Worse yet, I am unable to correct, even though I went through all 1015 conflicts, one by one.  HELP!  How do I get rid of this problem?

Hi Thomas, thanks for your reply.
Yes in standard start-up as it is and in recovery mode I still get the same message about Disk Utility being unable to repair the disk so I should back-up and restore.
Some posters have said that booting into safe mode should unmount the installer and allow rebooting back into Lion, that would allow me to back-up the files properly, as my last back up was (as is often the way) not too recent.
But I think your suggestion looks more likely to be he correct way to do it, and I'll take the hit on any data that I may lose.
    Thanks again.

  • HT4644 How do I get an image on a Samsung TV via HDMI adapter and cable.  Currently get only a static imgae of desktop and gray grainy screen for everything else.

How do get an image on a Samsung HD TV via HDMI adapter and cable?
Currently get a static image of the desktop and then a grainy gray picture.

If it's like mine, I used another post's advice. Go to system preferences, then display and click on "mirror". Then in system preferences go to sound and click on "HDMI".  I did this while I was connected to my Samsung TV and it worked then.

  • How do I get high resolution on my jpg photo

I have a photo in iphoto that I need to change to high resolution and email it.  HOw do I do that?

You can not "change" an image to High Resolution - what ever resolution it was created at it the maximum resolution it can be
the most general way to use the max is to select the photos in iPhoto and export it to the desktop using the highest resolution and quality settings (see the user tip on exporting for details on the options)  and email from there

  • When reviewing photos in Bridge by pressing the spacebar how do I get higher resolution photos

You might try setting monitor size previews (Edit > Preferences > Advanced, and you'll need to purge cache for the folders where you want to to try monitor size previews).  But this still produces soft previews for some users.  See the thread in this forum "Why do my images look soft in Bridge?"  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056763 -- particularly  the last 10 or so posts in that thread.

  • How do I get full resolution on external monitor with MacBook Pro

    Hi,
I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/sp620?locale=en_QA
And it states I can run an external monitor at 2650x1600. I have bought a BenQ BL2710 which goes to 2650x1440:
    http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/bl2710pt/
I can only get 1080p - the OS (Mavericks) does not have any option to go higher. I have tried connecting MiniDisplayPort to DVI via an adaptor, and I have tried MDP to HDMI using an adapter. Have I missed something?
    Thanks,
    Nick

Figured out I need MPD to DP has HDMI has a max res of 1080p.

  • How can i get low resolution pictures to print

I just bought a office jet pro 8600 and got on hp e-print for the sole purpose of printing pictures off of my iphone and ipad. I just sent an e-mail to the printer and it only printed "sent from iphone." It says there is some technology preventing printing of low resolution images... usually from camera phones. Any ideas or help.
    Thx

    Hi DChip56,
Here are some printing tips for printing from your iPad and iPhone (particularly items in bold):
All photos e-mailed with HP ePrint will print at a default size of 4 x 6 inches (101.6 x 152.4 mm).
If your HP ePrint-enabled printer does not have a separate photo paper tray, just make sure that photo paper is the only paper loaded in the tray when printing photos.
Make sure your digital images have a high enough resolution, or dpi (dots per inch). Image files (like jpeg, bmp, tiff, etc.) need to be at least 100 dpi in order to print via HP ePrint.
Make sure your image attachments are smaller than the 5 MB (megabyte) limit.
If you send a photo that is less than 100 dpi, it will not be printed. Instead, you will see a message in your job history on the ePrintCenter that says “Failed”.
To print a photo or image that is less than 100 dpi, insert the image file into a Word document before e-mailing. Your image will be printed on paper from the main printer paper tray.
If I have helped in any way, just click the Kudos star on the left. Also, if your issue has been resolved, don't forget to select Accept as Solution

  • Get higher resolutions for extended desktop

We have a new iMac. We also have an older Apple Cinema HD display monitor that we're using with the iMac as an extended desktop. On the iMac, we're using 2560 x 1440 resolution; but the highest resolution we can get on the Cinema HD is only 1280 x 800. Does anyone know how we can get higher resolutions on our Cinema HD display monitor?

I've been looking for a way to have the screen resolution change for different Apps too.  I can't find anything in Automator, but I hope there is a way..  Like you, I like my editing programs to be higher resolution and my finder, email and the rest to have a lower resolution.
