I have just returned from Afghanistan to find, (among the huge pile of mail) no less than 5 letters from BT trying to get me to sign up to their upto 20Mbps broadband. I have also recieved 3 voice calls in as many days, telling me that I can have upto 20Mbps. How can they say this when they know full well (as they have not done any work to my exchange), that even if I lived at the exchange, due to the lack of 21cn upgrade, the most will be 8Mbps. False advertising straight away. Also, with 4 miles of copper between me and there, 1Mbps is all but unreachable, yet they still say that my line will give me 2.5Mbps. More lies. I know that they lie to get you into a contract, but how do I stop them constantly sending out letters and phoning me. I have asked them to stop, but they say that as I don't have an account with them, they have nothing to link the note to, so if I want them to stop, I have to have an account. I have no intention of ever returning to BT as they have left us in the dark ages and will do for the foreseeable future. Is taking them to court for harassment the only way to stop them contacting me all the time or is there another way. If the only way is to take them to court, I will make sure that it gets maximum press coverage so that anybody else who has suffered at the hands of this poor excuse for a telecoms provider can also take action.

Click "More Info", not "o.k.".

I know how to tell Bridge to do it. But it seems the information is not embedded in the PDF's.
Is there a way to make the PDF's be aware of their size in inches at authoring time?

I'd like to have Bridge showing PDF dimensions in millimeters. Also dimensions for InDesign and Illustrator files in millimeters. Is this still an upcoming feature? I've been waiting for this since CS3...

Apps will always be tied to the acount form which they were purchases and will always have to be updated using that account.
For itunes: you can sign out of the itunes account and sign into your under Settings.

How do I get my merged clips to reconnect with their audio?

I am on FCP 7 syncing audio and video with ProRes 4444 @ 23.98. I am merging clips into bins labeled according to their scene. Pretty straight forward.
We then decided to go to ProRes 422 proxy to edit on a smaller faster drive at a lower cost. I transcoded the footage to 422 proxy with MPEG Streamclip same frame rate, same dimensions 1920x1080.
Next I go to relink the footage. Audio relinks and gives me this message: (Keep in mind these are copy and pasted files on the new hard drive).
"Some attributes of one or more of the files you have chosen do not match the attributes of the original.... The attributes that differed are as follows:
- Media start and end
Would you like to try to reconnect them again?"
Video relinks and gives me the same message, but adds "reel" as another attribute.
I've seen these messages before and nothing has come of it so I didn't think anything of it at first. Checking all the individual audio and video clips. Everything is playing fine.
THEN I go to play my merged clips... no audio!? Double click a merged clip in the browser, clip plays in the viewer but NO AUDIO. Right click on the merged clip file, select Item Properties and format. It is recognizing the correct audio clip that should be playing in the info there. I drag the clip into the timeline and I can see the shadow of the audio and video clip but when I let go in the timeline only the video appears.
How can this be?? What am I missing??
I would be so grateful for any ideas you might have!

Your fan(s) will run at high speed (i.e., loudly) while video is playing, and you can't get around that.
If your fans are not slowing down within 2-4 minutes after CPU- and/or GPU-intensive usage ends, and the application that was showing the video is still running, Quit that application. (In fact, if you're accustomed to Windows, you may not realize that simply closing a Mac application's window does not quit the application. You still need to use the Quit command in the application-name menu. There will always be a bright dot beside or below the application icon in your Dock for each application that is open.) Quit the ones you aren't using, and see whether that allows the fans to slow down without restarting the machine. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the SMC:

How do I get iTunes to stop asking me to sign in? I will never buy from iTunes so there is no point in me signing in. A year ago I bought a couple of albums off iTunes but I was sorely disappointed that I did not have the hard copy and album art in a physical form. That made me resolve to only buy music (or any content) in solid form and from the artist themselves if possible. And this is not to mention the proprietary format of iTunes music which basically makes every purchase a lease and not an ownership. So with that said, it is very annoying that iTunes on start-up asks me to sign in, not once, but TWICE. For such a little thing, you would think it would be infuriating. But alas, I'm very tired of being bullied and that is all it is to me. ITunes is a marketing BULLY. I'll stop now before I start in on all the explicatives I can think of for iTunes Store.

You do own the actual CD, but for the music, all you are purchasing is a license to use it (a lease) in accordance with that license.
