How do you remove camera icon on iPhone 5 running iOS 7

I was on a long call. I locked the phone and slipped it in my pocket. Apparently the lock screen camera had activated though it had not taken any shots . The result was post my 40 odd minute call when I pulled the phone out to disconnect I discovered the camera was active and phone was hot and battery had reduced for 92% to around 50%. This seems a serious flaw in design...

No, this feature is built into iOS 5 and can't be altered.
The only way this could cause a battery issue though is if you accidentally double-tap the Home button and then also tap either the Play button to start music or the Camera icon to launch the camera app. Not impossible, but not likely either.  Battery issues might be improved through a reset or complete iPhone restore.
I Have an iPhone 5 & the music keeps getting activated when its in my pocket.. i actually have to take it out of my pocket if im moving aroung.. or in a meeting.. its SO Annoying.. my first iPhone.. and im blown away that even on the LOCK screen.. you cant lock the features on the phone.. does this sound like a third grader designed this thing or what.. why have a lock screen??? IF it Doesn't lock??????
I can only pray that this issue is resolved soon.. otherwise this is my last & only iPhone.. what a piece of junk! & a huge waste of money... all these stupid 'apps' & games.. seem to be the priority.. & its still incable of being transported in my pocket without playing music & taking pictures..***
ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

  • No camera icon on lock screen even with double click

I have upgraded to ios5 and although there were a few glitches (deleted all my apps) it all seems to work, EXCEPT there is no camera icon on the lock screen.  Yes I've tried double tapping the home button.  It only opens up the Music controls.  I tried resetting the iPad but that didn't work.  I could try to re-install ios5 but I don't know how to do that...back to iTunes and do a restore?  Will I lose all my apps again?

Interesting.  I wondered if this was the case and couldn't find any documentation to that effect.  I also saw from some iPad owners who claimed they had that icon, although maybe I'm wondering if they were confusing the Picture Frame icon.  iPod users are also saying they have it on their screen.  Where are you finding this documentation that it's not available?
There is never any list of everything that is NOT avaiable.  However, the documentation about the camera improvements for the iOS5 update tells what IS available:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1456 states, in part:
Double click the home button when device is asleep to bring up a camera shortcut on iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (4th generation)
iPad is absent from the list, so Apple is not promising the camera shortcut on iPad.

  • No camera icon on lock screen iPad 2

    I have iPad 2 with iOS 5.1
Camera icon not showing on lock page. Forums say to double click home button on lock page to force camera icon to appear. It does not solve this issue.  Have also reset home page. Does not solve problem. Does ipad2 have this feature? If so, how???
    Thanks

But for the record, even if I have my iPad in my hand, I'm going to put it down and take out my iPhone to take a picture. It has a better camera and it's easier to hold and focus.

  • How do I get rid of the lock screen on my Droid X2?

I just got the Droid X2 and the lock screen is driving me crazy.  How do I get rid of it?

you can't eliminate the lock screen, goes back to voyager days & before.
in location/security, you can set the time before the lock engages, i choose 2 min in case i set the phone down & someone picks it up & tries to use it.
i do have a 4 digit code that must be entered, after the swype to use or answer the phone.

  • Camera icon on lock screen in iOS 5.1 only makes lock screen jump on iPhone 3GS

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 just now - and found the first bug within the first few seconds.
The camera quick access icon on the lock screen only makes the lock screen jump up and down a little, so about half of the photo app's lower bar, where the shutter, still/video icon etc. is, becomes visible for less than a second. And that's it.
I can't believe that nobody tested this on a 3GS.
It seems Apple got completely lost in stuffing in more and more frills and gadgets, everything after iOS 3.1.3 is way beyond a simple, clear and easy to use interface, and every little frill introduces more and more bugs and flaws. Having something simply and clear has been something that Apple was really good at - but that seems to be history.
Man, I'm SO annoyed - and SO disappointed.

Sorry, I meant swiping, not tapping.
It took me three reboots and one restore from the previous backup, only after that it started working as expected.
I also noticed that a lot of ram kept being marked as used although not a single app was running in the background.
Anyway - why did it need to be a swipe instead of a tap? One can only access it after a home button press - safe enough to not accidentally activate it.
I miss the possibility like in iOS 3 to assign the home button double-click to the camera start. THAT was really handy.

  • Camera icon on lock screen is disappeared after playing sound in protect website

Hi, My Q10 does not set password.I turn on Blackberry Protect function, and go to website test play sound part.My phone can receive that and play noise sound. After that, camera on lock screen is disappeared. there is a way to make it appears again: - Set password for phone- do not enter lock screen, press power button to turn off screen- turn on screen , camera icon will appears p/s: hold down K key to enter clock screen will not help, you have to use power buttton

Hi, what do you mean by "does not set password" ? and why are you experimenting with BB Protect... Flagging your device as stolen is a very serious thing (even by mistake)..Please clear few things:What OS you are on right now?..Did you recently upgraded your device software?..have you done the security wipe recently? 1. Set password for phone: Go to settings / Security and privacy / Device password / Set password for your device > scroll down to "Lock device after" option and set device lockout time. 2. do not enter lock screen: by that i think you mean phone is not locking itself,, first go to Settings / Advance Interaction / disable Hold to stay awake.... (i am not sure but you can try this) 3. turn on screen, camera icon will appears: "please provide the complete information"

  • After upgrading to ios5.1, the camera icon on lock screen just keeps on bouncing and wouldn't work. I've reset twice already. Any solution for this? TIA

Can somebody help me about this? I dunno what seems to be wrong but after upgrading to ios5.1, I can't use the camera on lock screen. It just keeps on bouncing. TIA

You have to slide up while touching the icon instead of tapping it.

  • No Camera icon on Lock Screen?

So the new iOS is suppose to have a camera icon on the lock screen. There isn't one, makes me think this isn't a lock screen at all....

    Try this:
    1)  Start with your phone off (not powered off) >> Press the home button twice >> You should have a small camera icon on the right hand side of the unlock slide >> Press the camera >> Presto >> your camera is up and running.
    2) Start with your phone off (not powered off) >> Press the home button once >> You should have the unlock slide >> From this screen >>Press the home button twice >> You should have a small camera icon on the right hand side of the unlock slide >> Press the camera >> Presto >> your camera is up and running.
