How do I get Camera Raw plug in v7.1 or better for PS 5

I have a Nikon 3200 and PS5 with Camera Raw Plug-In 6.7.  Apparently I need Camera Raw Plug-In 7.1 or better but I can't find a download.
Any help gratefully awaited.

Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
There is no download for Camera Raw 7.1 for CS5 because CS5 is not compatible with Camera Raw 7.1 and never will be.
Thus, you cannot open Raw files from the D3200 in CS5.
Your options:
Upgrade to CS6
Join the Cloud and get CC 2014
Free option: download the Adobe DNG converter, convert all D3200 Raw files to DNG format then open the DNGs in CS5

camera raw 7.2 will not install on photoshop cs6

Do a search/ ask in the PS/ ACR forums. This has been discussed. It's a blockage with certain ACR settings that need to be removed and fixed manually.

  • How do I get Camera Raw for Pentax PEF file to open in Photoshop CS4?

How do I get Camera Raw in CS4 to recognize Pentax PEF files? I have downloaded and installed the Camera Raw Plug Ins but I still cannot open the file.  I have done this on my older computer but can't seem to get it to work on my new one.

I just looked that up. You need at least Adobe Camera Raw 8.3 which only Photoshop CS6 and above has.
Adobe Camera RAW 8.3 include Pentax K-3 support - PentaxForums.com
So in order to read it in ACR 5.7, you will need to use the free Adobe DNG Converter and convert those Pentax raw files to DNG.

  • How do I access Camera Raw Plug-in for PSE 11?

I can't figure out how to access the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop Elements 11 ( on a Macbook Pro OSX.)  I recently installed  PSE 11, and when I select "about plug-in" within the app, it brings up a box that shows version 7.1.0.354.  Does that mean it's already installed?  If so, how do I access it to edit a photo? In past PSE versions I simply chose "Open file / as Camera Raw" but that option doesn't come up.

In the File Open dialog ensure you have All Readable Documents selected for Enable.
Click on the file you want to open
Change the Format to Camera Raw

    Hi Andreaid,
An easy way is to go to Help>Updates in whatever program you have that includes camera raw like Photoshop or Bridge.

how do you get camera raw plugin for cs5.1 extented for new olympus omd e-m1 camera?

Native support requires ACR version 8.3, which will only run under CS6 or CC.
Use the free DNG converter to make DNGs readable in older ACR versions. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html

  • How can i add camera raw Plug-ins (PS CC) to CS6?

is there anyway i add camera raw Plug-ins (PS CC) to CS6?
In photoshop CC have camera raw Plug-in under filter menu, i can use any time i want, but in CS6 only when i open raw file, but i don;t want use smart object, thanks

The only thing Photoshop CS6 users will benefit from in Camera Raw updates is the addition of new cameras. All of the other features are part of the CC subscription program. It's one of the selling points for moving to the Creative Cloud.

  • How do I get camera raw page open

How do I get the page to open in Elements 10 that has the histogram and sliders for contrast, exposure, etc?  I can't find it anywhere.  All I can get to open is the edit page that shows apples

Ok, Actually, I saw on a video on Elements 11, there were sliders that you could adjust contrast, temperature, all that and a histogram at the top.  Somebody told me it was in camera raw not elements editor.  I'm frustrated because as I had said earlier in my elements 10, editor, there's all these green apples (filters, like blur, etc).  I need to be able to adjust the contrast and all that before it gets to editor.  So actually, I'm looking for those sliders.  I'm new and aggravated and ready to throw this out!  But, I'm still trying!  Thanks

  • How did I get Camera Raw files?

I  am currently working with a lot of old scanned photos. But when I look at them in Bridge many of them have this little icon in the top right hand corner:
When I click on them to open Photoshop they open in some Camera Raw 7.1 window. These files often don't have desktop thumbnails (I'm on a Mac). I don't want to open them in Camera Raw. They are just TIFF files.

To get rid of that adjustment and its icon, go to the Edit menu in Bridge > Develop Settings… > Clear Settings.
From then on that particular file should open straight into Photoshop as a regular TIFF file.
Check your preferences, so that you don't have JPEGs and TIFFs to automatically open in Adobe Camera Raw.
If you had indicated what versions of everything you're running, I'd have included a screen shot for you.

  • How can I get Camera Raw for Panasonic TZ60 into Prem elements 11

I have replaced my Fuji with a Panasonic TZ60 but cannot get to the RAW images. There appears to be a raw converter for Photoshop but none that works in elements

You need camera raw 8.4 for your camera. It is only compatible with PSE12. Alternatively, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.4
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.4
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • How do I upgrade camera raw plug in for CS5 on a mac OS X 10.9.4?

I cannot open raw files from Nikon d610, so says to upgrade plug in but when I do says its not complatible with my operating system?

    1. See this article for an explanation of the aliases.
    2. Select the blank disk in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu; under General, the size will be below 1GB if it is a CD. If it's above 1GB, the disk is a DVD. Most recent Macs ship with DVDs as the computer's original disks.

  • Getting Camera RAW 4.1 to leave things alone

Maybe there is a direct answer to this question somewhere on the forum, but I have been searching without much luck. Maybe someone has a concise answer out there...
How do I get Camera RAW 4.1 to USE all of my in camera settings, and then how do I most effectively open those files into PS3 for image processing (changing them into PSD) for any editing they may need?
My images are what I am looking for when they come out of the camera, and when I preview them in Bridge. It's only when the NEFs get opened into camera RAW 4.1 that they lose all their settings, and thus saturation, depth, contrast, etc.
I have heard about saving settings and profiles, but I am talking about thousands of photos in each shoot, with wildly different elements to them all. I work hard to make sure most everything is well set and executed in the camera when I shoot, so it is disheartening to have to "edit" which seems to mean just re-build everything I originally captured via in camera settings. Furthermore, it seems that this editing is very time consuming and rarely matches what I see if the previews.
I just want ACR's converter to not assume I didn't pay any attention to my in camera settings, and that I want to actually "edit" each photo in its interface. Thanks ahead of time for any help or suggestions that you might have. If it helps, I am shooting with D200s and D70s.

These issues have been covered here before many times. Just do a forum search.
    In a nutshell:
This has been covered ad nauseam here. Please do a forum search.
Camera manufacturers, Canon and Nikon in particular, perform in-camera RAW to JPEG conversions designed to generate the over-saturated, over-contrasty and over-sharpened images that appeal to most amateurs.
Their stand-alone RAW conversion software also performs the same conversion to your RAW images.
Noise is also hidden by compressing the shadows so you don't see much of the noise inherent in the image.
Adobe Camera Raw, ACR, on the other hand, comes with default settings designed to give you the most detail possible (even if this sometimes means revealing some of the noise hidden by the camera manufacturers in their RAW conversion software), as well as the most natural images.
That being said, you can calibrate your camera to ACR and come up with your own settings to produce exactly what you want, including the JPEG-look of the camera manufacturer, and save that as your profile.
The key is to learn how to use ACR properly and to calibrate your camera to ACR.
CLICK HERE for some essential reading. (Revised edition for ACR 4.x by Jeff Schewe shipping soon.)
The ACR defaults are nothing more than a suggested starting point.
The color temperature won't necessarily match either.

  • Camera Raw Plug-in Question

First off, please excuse me if this is a stupid question.  I'm still learning my way around CS5 and Lightroom so please bear with me.  So when selecting any of the "Edit-In" options in Lightroom (as in Panorama, HDR in Photoshop etc) I get an error message that reads as follows:
"This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw Plug-In version 6.4.1 for full compatibility"
However, everything is updated for Lightroom and CS5.  My Camera Raw version is 6.4.1.145.  I wasn't getting the error message before so I'm not sure what changed (I hadn't even closed the program when I started receiving the error message).
Do I just un-install and reinstall the Camera Raw Plug-In to fix?  Any suggestions or insights?  I appreciate any help.  Thanks in advance!

Have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, font validation, etc.)?
