How do I get CD image to show on desktop

I selected iPhoto to be the default app to open when a blank CD is loaded. Now I can't find the CD image anywhere, including iphoto. I'd prefere that the CD image show on the iPhoto window upon insertion if at all possible, since I primarily will be working in iPhoto. If not possible, then I want to reselect finder as the default so the CD image shows up on my desktop. Right now I can't burn anything because the CD image isn't showing anywhere that I can find.

Well, that made sense, but even though it is selected, it's still not showing.
The CD originally did show on the desktop untill I selected the iPhoto as the default, so I know the CD is readable. Maybe I should just do a restart and see what happens.

I'm a photographer and have just installed my 2009 Aperture2 disc on my new MacBook Pro 2011. The images I've tried to import from folders on my desktop are showing up as blank rectangles. Any ideas as to what might be going on and how to correct it?
By the way, I never had this problem using the same software on my MacBook Pro 2008.

Thanks, Ernie. I'm sure that was the problem. As it turned out, today I returned my new 15" MacBook Pro to get the 17". At that time I downloaded Aperture3 from the App Store and all is working well. And this time I updated all the software on the new computer. Didn't even know that was necessary. Always on a learning curve!

What specific information would you need? The program was working just fine early yesterday morning and than when I came back in the afternoon to edit some more pictures that is when I wasn't able to see the full image anymore. It is providing me with all of the editing options as if the picture is there but it is just a blank screen with the thumbnail pic showing in the right panel.

I have an application that uses the jlfgr icons for the toolbar, and it works fine as long as i actually run it from the directory that it is in.
I would like to put in into a jAr file, and be able to execute it from other places.
I have a Directory named PhoneBook
in that are the classes I use
AddressBook - the main class
PersonEntry - The 'data class'
and various other things like FileFilters.....
inside that directory there are two more:
images - contains all the icon images
Data - where the default 'database' entries are stored.
I use code like this:

          Dummy = new JButton(new ImageIcon("images/New16.gif"));
          Dummy.setActionCommand("New");
          Dummy.addActionListener(this);

and so the program runs, but does not get the icons for the toolbar, I just get a whole load of 'dud' buttons.....
AS this is the first time i've ever got the GUI to look right rather than just the code functioning properly

What you need is a correct path to the directory
inside of the jar. This can be accomplished by adding
a line to your main program like this:
URL
url=myProgram.class.getResource("images/New16.gif");
Dummy = new JButton(new ImageIcon(URL));
where myProgram.class is the name of the class
file that contain the main method.

After Reading the API docs on URL's etc I'm still not sure as to why it works, but it does....
I am able now to place the class files in a jar along with the images and it all works fine
although now I don't quite follow all my code....................

returns some sort of 'relative url ' ???

Well, all I can tell you is that if your file is an m4a with chapter markers, those markers having suitably sized images attached, and you drag it into the Music area of iTunes (so that it appears as a song) in List view, when you play it and then command-click on the small image in the header (next to the progress bar) you should see your embedded images.
If this isn't happening the best place to ask would be in the GarageBand forum: my own experience of GB is rather out of date and in any case I've never used it for podcasting.

In GarageBand 10.0.2 you can no longer add all kinds of effects freely; this GarageBand '11 feature has been discontinued. Pick one of the predefined patches that already has the effects you want.
However, you can add effects from the predefined audio units.
You'll see the predefined effects on the track, when you open the Smart Controls. To add audio units, click the button and enlarge the the smart controls pane by dragging the dividing line to the Track Area upwards.

Hi-Until a couple of weeks ago all mail received from my IMAP and POP accounts would show up in the correct mailboxes in my Mail inbox list. (Only problem then was that sent mail would never show up in the sent mail folder--always stayed in the inbox.)
Now a new problem has happened----unless I go directly to my charter cable account (P0P account) to retrieve any mail sent to that particular address, the mail goes unnoticed by Mail on my MAC and nothing shows up in the inbox. But--- If I do a test to myself , sending an email to the POP address from my IMAP account from my MAcMAil, my IMAP account will show the email in the inbox of the IMAP account I sent it from as if I'd mailed it to that account. How can I get my POP account showing in the Inbox? And, any suggestions for a fix to getting the "sent" mail to show in the "sent" folder would also be appreciated.

The Read from Clipboard method is, unfortunately, limited to text. If the clipboard contains an image then you need to use OS-specific functions calls. This is an example program for Windows. It's old, but it should still work.
