How do I get clips resized for youtube without extra black borders?

Hi Ya,
I have some concert footage that I edited in FCP (some in 4.3, some in 16.9) that I have montaged together to form a "sampler" of what the act in question have done over the years. I want to put this on youtube, which needs a 320x240 frame size so I created a 320x240 sequence, added my montage to this, resized the clip til I was happy and exported. No matter what setting I use to export, I seem to end up with a box that has black borders round the movie instead of the movie filling the 320x240 frame, except when I DON"T specify 320x240 as an export size, in which case I get a movie that looks ok but it's 576x520! (i'm UK based so the 4.3 footage was this size??)
Any suggestions?

this had me stumped for a long time, but i think whats happening is that the quicktime movie player window defaults to a bigger size than 320 x 240, so it shows the movie at its correct sizer in a bigger window. if you resize the window the black sidebars go away. the movie properties say the movie is the correct size, so it should be fine. if you embed it in an html page it plays correctly as well.

I purchased MS Office 2011 for Mac Home and Student version a couple of months ago on the basis we thought we could get the syc of Calender to work using iMas, iPhone and iPad all working using our ISP but as it turns out this cannot be acheived and now we are told we need to get MS Office 2011 for Mac Home and Business in order to just get outlook. I dont want to pay another $200 just to get Outlook for Mac yes MS say I needs to get the full suite of apps under the Home and Business package. This is lusicrous and I was hoping someone out there might have some suggestions for me so that we can get Outlook

Did you make the purchase? They should have sent you an email when you purchased it to confirm the transaction or something. That should include some sort of receipt.
It is for personal use because not only businesses use it, individuals use it too for independent YouTube channels, etc.

You can't. But if you backed up your computer prior to wiping it out, you should be able to restore your iTunes library, contacts, photos, etc. from that backup. Once you do, you can set the phone up again and just sync everything from your library back to it.
If you didn't back the computer up either, you can transfer items purchased on the phone into iTunes, and if you set up at least one contact in whatever application you sync your contacts to on the computer, it will offer to merge the address books on the first sync, saving those. Any media you'd acquired from sources other than the iTunes store will have to be re-downloaded from the source or re-ripped.
The iPhone is NOT a backup device.

Sorry I'm clueless. Just don't want to buy something that messes up my machine more than it already is.
The Crucial site appears to have recommended the correct spec 4gB RAM stick for your model. Please note that you will need to remove the existing sticks of RAM to install new, so you will need 2x4gB to get to 8gB.
When your model of computer was designed/built, it was tested with readily available 2x4gB (8gB). After release RAM retailers have tested it with higher amounts, and Apple didn't update their quoted specs.

If you are referring to The Songs Of Innocence album (£7.99) then that was given free to everyone three months ago, and was free until 13th October - you are sure that you've been charged, it's not a temporary store holding charge ? Yes I have read of other reports from people saying theirs are fine. I was able to get a refund processed for storage I accidentally purchased by calling the above number ^^.
It did take me three calls because the system is fully automated and it was difficult speaking an answer to any of the automated questions that would actually get me to a live person - the first time I was automatically hung up on for not replying; the second time I couldn't get past the automated system. The third time I was finally transferred to a live person; and after being transferred to a second live person it took about 20 minutes to get the refund processed. I'm hoping it goes through and will be watching my credit card statement closely for the next week. Apple will call me back a week from today to ensure the refund was processed.
