How do i get faces.db from iPhoto into Aperture?

I converted my iPhoto library to Aperture about a year ago and when i go into Faces, none are there. I can start to add them to photos and the type-ahead works as though they're loaded, but the thousands of photos I did are not tagged.
I can find the faces.db and journal files in the iPhoto folder - is there some way to import that into Aperture so the tagged photos will be sorted by Faces??

iPhoto 9.6 and Aperture 3.6 share a library. So if you have iPhoto 9.6 and your faces database up to date, Aperture should be able to use it by simply opening the library.

Please follow the below steps.
In the Finder, navigate to your iPhoto package file. By default, it's located in /Users/[user name]/Pictures, and it's called iPhoto Library.
Control-click the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
A Finder window opens that shows the contents of the package file. The Masters folder contains all of the photos that are in iPhoto.
Control-click the folder named Masters and choose Duplicate.
Drag the folder named "Masters copy" from the iPhoto Library Finder window to your Desktop and then you can import the pictures to Photoshop from the desktop.

TIP - getting Faces info from iPhoto to Aperture

I've just put together a script that will help get people's names from iPhoto 9 back into Aperture as keywords.

It requires using Aperture's Previews in iPhoto, as those Preview files include the ID of the Version they are based on. It's also a bit of a kludge because you have to run the script again for each person's name.
Feel free to use and adapt the script, I've put in quite a lot of comments about what it's doing.

note that, if you are using iPhoto '11 and Aperture 3 updated to the most recent version, they use the same library. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5260

You can't. iCloud is not for general file backup from a Mac. It's for backup up and syncing data between mobile devices and and Macs and The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: Backup and restore overview.

File > Export > Version/Originals
Then use "Filename > Sequential"

Importing photos from iphoto into aperture

I am currently importing my photos one album at a time from iphoto into aperture as this is what I was told is the best way to do it. My organization up to now ***** so I am trying to organize everything now. But I have pictures in my iphoto library that were never put into an album, so how will I be sure that I have all the photos imported into aperture before I delete them???? Also how can you tell if all the pictures in a project are in an album? I had a picture in 2 different albums and deleted it from one album but it deleted it from both - what did i do wrong??

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

IMovie '09 - How do I get photos in from iPhoto? (It's not working!)

I have seen posts about difficulties accessing photos in iMovie '09 but can't seem to get it to work for me. I added more photos to iphoto and they won't show up in imovie. I put them in new folders then, but the folders show up with nothing inside. Then I try and drag and drop from iphoto and finder - into all sections of imovie and it still won't work. How do I do this?? I tried editing each photo in iphoto to see if that work work, but no luck still. I really want to add the last few photos to my project!

The problem can be that there is an '&' in the path to your iPhoto-library. I renamed some of my albums in iPhoto. For me this worked, but I'm still using iLife '06.
If this doesn’t help you can also just drag the photo’s from iPhoto into iMovie of iDVD.

Printing photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 on my printer yeilds garish two color prints. Exporting the photo from iPhoto to desktop then printing from Preview works fine. How can I get good prints from iPhoto?

When printing photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 with my HP inkjet printer the multitude of colors in the photos are reduced to two, Magenta and Yellow. If the photos are exported to my desktop (MacPro) and printed from Preview, the colors in the prints are fine. How do I get iPhoto to print the colors correctly?

What settings did you use in the Export Dialogue?
When you go File -> Export you get a tabbed box with various options. In the File Export tab you can choose to scale the pics, or keep them the same size, change or retain the format.
