How do I get facetime for mac desktop

How do I download facetime for my mac desktop computer?

I just responded to another post regarding Facebook for Mac.  Your Mac must have OSx 10.6.6 or later.  If your Mac satisfies this requirement, go to the App Store, where it is available for 99 cents US.

  • How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?

I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?

    This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
    Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts.

  • How do I get Word for Mac to quit showing up in Boot Camp?

We recently bought a Mac computer and installed Word for Mac on it. After some trial and error, decided for work purposes, unfortunately, it works out better to just use Windows in Boot Camp.
We installed MS Word 2010 in Boot Camp, but now some documents are in Word (Mac) format and others are in MS Word 2010 format. When I go to open a document, I have to tell it which one to open it with, despite choosing MS Word 2010 as the default.
Is there a way to get the Mac version out of boot camp? Do I have to completely uninstall it?
    Thank you in advance.

There is no Mac version of Office running in Boot Camp or vice-versa. So I don't quite know what you are asking. You can open any Office for OS X document in Office for Windows, then resave it as a standard Office for Windows document.

  • How do i get itunes for mac operation system 10.5.8?

I don't know what you mean by "cannot put music on my macbook", but the most recent version of iTunes that will run on Mac OS X 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3, which if Software Update doesn't install it can be downloaded here:

  • How can I get Outlook for Mac Calendar synced to Google Calendar?

The Mac calendar produces a view of the Outlook calendar and good syncing. But I cannot find a way of syncing this view with Google calendar. I can get a separate view in Mac Callendar of mt Google calendar adn again good syncing. But I cannot get the Outlook view on Mac calendar across to the google view. What am I missing here?

Dear Klaus, Many thanks for your response. However as far as I can see the Outlook in this thread is always on a Windows PC. My Outlook is on the Mac.
I can sync to Mac Calendar V6 with Outlook 2011 for Mac and with Google calendar. But the Google sync and the Outlook sync are in diferent accounts although both visible on the Mac Calendar at the same time. However I cannot find a way of using the Mac Calendar to bidge across from the "On my Mac" account (which is synced with the Outlook for Mac) to the Google account.
    Kind regards, P.

  • I need an older version of Firefox, how do I get one for Mac ???

I have a Mac OSX 10.5.8 that wont accept the updated browsers out there. I need a older version. Is there ANYWAY to get one ???

Since you have a PowerPC and not Intel hardware you can use the third-party TenFourFox. http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/ however Plugins are not supported due to be old/vulnerable. Though TenFourFox does support Extensions unless they are say OS specific or for a more current version.
Firefox 16.0.2 was the last to work on the old Mac OSX 10.5.x as Firefox 17.0 to current has required OSX 10.6+ since

There are three reason why you can't find FT:
    - It on a screen you can't find it.  Try using the Spotlight search feature to find it.
    - It is hidden by Restricitions.  To check/change go to Settings>General>Restrictions
    - You officially puchased the iPod from one of the mid eastern countries that prohibits FT.  In that case there is no way of getting FT on that iPod.  To chacj Google for: FaceTime in (country here).

  • How do I get Office for Macs to open

I really don't know how this works and I don't have the energy.

Do you already have Office installed? If so, what is happening when you try to open it?
If you have Microsoft Office 2004 or earlier and are getting messages saying that PowerPC software cannot be opened, you need to upgrade to a newer version of Office. Either 2008 or 2011 will work.

  • How do i get itunes for mac os 10.5.8

I have a five year old macbook pro. I recently had to reboot the os, and now my computer reads that I cannot get into my itunes. So I tried to download itunes again, but that seems to require snow leopard. Can I download an older version of itunes that will work with os 10.5.8, or do I have to buy 10.6 and download the new itunes?

  • How do you get safari for Mac OS X Version 10.6.8?

I really need help with it

That's not the Safari version number, it's the OS X version number. Safari is at v. 5.x, and you can see exactly what version of it you have by opening it and choosing "About Safari" from the Safari menu. It will be a slightly higher version in Lion than in Snow Leopard.

  • How would I get facetime on my iPhone 4? I used to have it now I don't. I need some help?

How do I get facetime for my iPhone 4?

You have to scroll down after you tap on Settings.  The FaceTime settings is between Messages and Maps.  Can you find it now?
If not, try resetting your iPhone by holding both Power on and Home button together, for 15 seoonds or until the white apple logo appears and then wait for your iPhone to reset.  After that go to Settings, Scroll down to FaceTime and make sure it is set to ON.

  • I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. See the following about how to upgrade:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
