How do I get firefox to auto update the restored tabs like it used to do?

It will restore my pages and tabs from the last session, but it no longer updates the tabs with the latest information.

You need to use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the browsing cache to prevent Firefox from restoring pages from the cache.

How can I get Firefox to stop saving the open tabs when it closes and reinstating them the next time it opens?

Even tho' I've set options for Firefox to delete history when it closes, it still remembers my open tabs and tries to reinstate them the next time it starts. This causes two problems: 1) it takes longer for Firefox to close, such that if I start it again a few sec later it is still running and won't restart; 2) it sometimes reopens websites I am no longer want when it next starts. The latter also makes the last sites I visited visible to the next user, which I (and I suspect most other users) want to avoid. I would like to turn this feature off since it is far more of a problem than a benefit!

I have the same problem.
My settings are already configured to "Show a blank page". It does show a blank page normally, but when FF crashes, it attempts to reload all the tabs from the previous session when it restarts. My version is: Firefox/3.6.13, and I'm running XP sp3 if that matters.

Certain web sites only use the middle of the monitor screen and do not show all their content on the right

"Current browser"? When viewing anything, or just when using an APEX app?
Ans .. Just when using apex app....even if the apex app is minimised ..The current browser will be the one where I am using apex app...
What i am looking for some scheduler .. to check ..in the table every 5 minute for change if there is a change..then a popup alert be shown...
Split it into [at least] 2 components, database and browser. I'd expect someone calling themself a "DBA Architect" to have some ideas about the database side of things, even if not clued up on JavaScript and AJAX?
I dont think its a database isssue... When i say to check every 5 minutes ..it could be easily done via dbms_scheduler ...I am having issue in getting the popup alert message...

I have just migrated my library from Aperture to photos. All seems to have gone smoothly, except for one thing. All of my photos are 'untitled', whereas in both Aperture, and previously iPhoto, the filename was used for the title. If I hit CMD+I and get info, the title is still there as the filename, as I use the filename for all titles.
Is there a way to batch copy all filenames as photo titles, this was done automatically in Aperture and iPhoto, as when photos were imported the filename was used automatically.
Any help appreciated.

In that case, there may be a problem with your Finder preferences or window settings.
Try removing these files, then restarting:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
~/Desktop/.DS_Store
Let me know if you're not sure how to do that.

That is not a feature that is supported natively within Firefox but there are various add-ons which I think will do the job you need.
The one I have used is [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-slide-show/?src=search Web Slide Show]. This is primarily an add-on for viewing a slideshow of images when they are presented as thumbnails on a web page. However once you are in the slideshow there is a download button which will download all the images in the slideshow. It will automatically rename the images if an image with the same name already exists in the folder.
If you don't like that add-on then here are some others that may do the same job:

How can I get Firefox not to update?

I unchecked all update boxes in options>advance>update after uninstalling 5 and re-installing 4. Some time (days or weeks) later I saw a window saying Firefox was downloading updates. I found the update box had been rechecked--definitely not by me, and I'm the only user of this computer.
Today, again some time later, I again saw the downloading updates window. This time the boxes remained unchecked but, if the window was correct, updates are still downloading.
I am on dial-up and don't spend that much time online so I have not yet had 5 reimpose itself on my computer.

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

How do I get Firefox 8 to recognize the filetype of downloadable attachments on php boards?

After updating to Firefox 8, attachments on php boards (such mp3s or image files) are not recognized filetypes. When I click on them, or right click "save link as", the save window shows the attachment as "Index.php" and only offers to save it as a php file. I have to manually type in the file name and extension and select "All files" under file type to get it to save correctly. This has been happening only since Firefox updated itself to version 8.0. IE still works normally with attachments on php boards, so it's not site problems. Is there some setting, or configuration I can change to fix this? Thanks, Mark

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Firefox correctly changes the print background to white, but leaves the colored info as it was on the web page. My monochrome printer uses Grey Scale to interpret the colors, but most colors are interpreted with so dimly that they cannot be seen on the printout.
I am running Firefox 3.6.10 with Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.9rc2 and the OS is Ubuntu 10.04. I have disabled the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications Extension, but the results are the same.

Right click the FireFox button in your toolbar and look in the properties- middle tab...make sure that it only has "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" with no other link added to the end. I had a similar problem this morning and found a website had attached it's link to the end so it would always pop up first and would only open a new tab.

I have photos of my car that I took with my iPhone. I'd like to use them for an advertisement to sell the car. How do I get them off the phone or out of the backup folder that iTunes produces when I back up my phone. I'm using a Windows 7 computer.

Thanks, but I figured it out. I just had to find the files in Windows under what would be considered a "drive." Once there, the photos all show up in a folder as JPEG files. Got the ones I needed.
