How do I get Firefox to connect to HTML links?

When I receive e-mail with an HTML link, and I click on the link, it attempts to download that page with Microsoft Internet Explorer. I hate MS Internet Explorer. When I am on a web page with Firefox, and there is a link, I click on it and it downloads the site with Firefox just fine.

How can I get Firefox to connect to websites that are not Google sites?

This evening Firefox would not connect to my homepage (BBC) or anything in my bookmarks I tried. However, It would connect to anything Google (eg maps, mail etc), and run searches, but would not connect to any sites listed as the results of these searches.
I contacted my internet supplier, who ran various tests, including emptying history, cache/cookies and resetting to default values of Firefox. But nothing solved my problem. It was fine this morning and showed no problems of this type before. I have the latest version of Firefox. My machine is Windows XP, I have the latest IE that can still be loaded - that won't even connect to Google to search, (but perhaps it is unable to because it is too old?)
A couple of months back I had the computer cleaned/tuned, they replaced mcafee with Avast, but I had no problems accessing different websites. I still only run the free version of this. I cannot work out how to access its firewall settings.
So the problem seems to be that the only sites I can access at all Google sites via Firefox...and Mozilla. I know Google is kind of ubiquitous but how I can't imagine how settings could suddenly become altered to be so specific!

Did you try to start your computer in "safe mode", to see if the problem is still there ?
Who replaced your antivirus and cleaned your computer ? Can they help you ?
For the moment, I see 3 hypothesis :
- a problem of DNS : do you know what it is and where to check them ?
- a problem of Firewall : do you know how to manage the settings of your's one ?
- a problem of security : do you know how to check if there are malwares installed on your computer ? You should do this before any other solutions anyway.
If it doesnt' work, try to install Google Chrome, to see if this browser can go on other websites. If yes, it is time to uninstall/reinstall Firefox.

How do I get Firefox 12 to open a link from Google search results?

Ever since upgrading to version 12.0, whenever I click on certain links the browser just "reloads" the same page I am on rather than loading the new page in the same tab. When this happens it's not opening the link in a new tab or window, instead just for a second the tab I am on says "connecting" and has the circular busy indicator, and then I'm right where I was before. In order actually follow a link I'm having to context click and then click Open in a new Tab.
On a lot of websites the links follow as usual and open the new page in the same tab. Others don't however, such as the search results page from google. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the new anti-duplicate tab feature, and if so, how do I disable that? I'm on OSX 10.6.8. Thanks.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I am taking an online class and need to be able to open a powerpoint articulate lecture html file, at this point when i click on the file a blank tab loads. I have the lastest flash player and have installed the flash player compatibility for articulate. Please give exact details on what else i can do. I have reinstalled flash and firefox again and am receiving the same error. Also I receive the same thing on windows explorer and I am operationg with windows vista.

If the purchases are all from the same account then you can share the content by authorizing each device.
If you have separate accounts then you have to be authorized to use the content purchased from another account.

Reading some older threads from 2012 and 2011 it appears the problem was present even then. Part of the problem was due to people using multiple or different account id's on the various devices. In my case, I only have one ID and it is the same on all devices yet the iPhone and iPad are still throwing the same error when I try turning on iTunes Match. It used to be ok. I had a firexox teeshirt from way far back, firefox 1.0. Then i had a hemorrhagic stroke, about 3 years ago. Now i'm back, in a new place, for two months now.
(I use my left hand now...) and once again, i have a desktop, with win-xp (and five internal harddrives, and a 600w ps.) Anyway, for the first time with my new desktop, there is a cursor in the bottom of firefox, and it doesn't show everything, left to right unless i move it.
I've been out of commission, with only a laptop, with win-7-64bit edition, that i got just 7 months before my stroke. My sister threw away all of my desktops...many of which i built. The doctor said i may die...so my sister didn't even wait, but threw away my CLOTHES AND BOOKS AND COMPUTERS (except for the laptop), but she saved most of my harddrives...i guess i taught her how to save harddrives.
Anyway, it's been three years, since i've had no 32bit computer with win-xp, and i can't figure out how to make things go back to the way i'm used to. HELP! I was in your forums, when my e-mail was [email protected], which it will be again , soon. But for how, how do i get firefox to show all, left to right, without a bottom cursor? i know it's possible. If you have a wired connection to the iMac and you are asking about using the iMac for the Internet connection for the iPad, you will need to use Internet Sharing on the Mac.
