In our newsroom environment, staff prefers to have MP3s from various download sources open directly in an outside program's window (in this case Goldwave is the preferred program). That being said, with the newer version (36 specifically) the behavior of the program has changed so that MP3s are opening in a separate browser tab, regardless of the preferences in the "Applications" window of the Options as well as the program defaults within Windows. Previous adjustments made to about:config media.windows-media-foundation.enabled as well as media.directshow.enabled and setting to "False" no longer solve this issue.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

Sayeed's example will work great if you don't care which 50 rows you get back. If you do, you can use an inline view to sort them first and get back a ranked result set:

After closing firefox, the next time I open it my homepage has gone back to the default homepage and not the one I tried to set as my home page.

I've tried multiple times to set my home page to Yahoo.com
It works as long as I have Firefox open, but if I close Firefox and then re-open it, the home page has reverted back to the default home page, not the one I set.
This has not happened before updating to 3.6.10.

Ever since upgrading to version 12.0, whenever I click on certain links the browser just "reloads" the same page I am on rather than loading the new page in the same tab. When this happens it's not opening the link in a new tab or window, instead just for a second the tab I am on says "connecting" and has the circular busy indicator, and then I'm right where I was before. In order actually follow a link I'm having to context click and then click Open in a new Tab.
On a lot of websites the links follow as usual and open the new page in the same tab. Others don't however, such as the search results page from google. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the new anti-duplicate tab feature, and if so, how do I disable that? I'm on OSX 10.6.8. Thanks.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

How do I get Firefox to import ALL my bookmarks from Internet Explorer?

I've recently installed Firefox on my WXP computer, to replace IE. During installation, Firefox automatically put up a dialog offering to import all my bookmarks (i.e. Favourites) from IE, and I accepted. The resulting page confirmed that my bookmarks had been imported. However, on looking at the actual list of bookmarks "Imported from IE", I saw that the main Favourite headings had been imported in alphabetical order - which is fine - but that the import had stopped at the letter S. That meant that some important main Favourite headings (e.g. "Travel") hadn't been imported.
I then went to your tutorial pages and followed the instructions for "Importing Personal Data from Other Browsers", asking for just bookmarks to be imported from IE. What happened was that once again, FF imported only the Favourite titles up to initial S. (And now, furthermore, all the imported ones were duplicates of the ones already imported at set-up). Would you tell me, please, what I need to do to get the complete list of Favourites imported from IE?

How do I get firefox to ask me to remember passwords? I have it checked in the security tab and it does nothing...

I can't get firefox to ask me to remember user names and passwords. I got a new computer and now I have to type all my user names and passwords in. I have the little box checked under security settings and there are no exceptions... so it seems it should be working... but it never even asks, no gray bar... etc.

The printer in firefox wants to print out a "3 page list of emails" and NOT the document I requested

The printer prompts in Firefox to print a document all appears as good same as in a Word or Excel Doc - which DOES print files properly.
In Mozilla FF the document requested will produce a list of ~ 3 pages of my emails or NOT the document requested.

1. Firefox doesn't do email, so you are probably referring to problems with a web mail service - which one?
2. Without us having access to that same web mail service we would have to guess about what your problem is - I can only guess that there is a button to display a "printer ready" version of an email that you need to use so the email you are reading is displayed all by itself and thus only that is printed.

How can I get Firefox to remember a password for a site I originally told it not to? The site is not found in the exceptions area of passwords either.

I initially said for Firefox to NOT remember a password for COZI.com, my online calendar site. Now I would like it to, but cannot find a place to make that happen. I checked under TOOLS/OPTIONS/SECURITY/PASSWORDS. The site is not listed under exceptions either. Is there a way to make this happen?

I do not see that form in the page source, so it looks that it the login form gets created via JavaScript and the Firefox Password Manager doesn't work in such cases. Form fill may store the name.
