My ipad is showing a dialog box on my home screen that says that it has not been backed up to icloud in 3 weeks and that I need to be locked and connected to WIFI to back up. There is a OK button that I continue to press but the box won't go away or let me do anything else. It's frozen. I have shut the ipad downa and also completely recharged. Nothing is working to get it unfrozen. Please help.

Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

My situation is much worse. My 80 year old Mother in-law bought a 4G iPad to keep in contact with her son overseas. Her retirement village has no WiFi so it it not possible to backup her iPad. The "This iPad has never been backed up" modal dialog locks up the machine. She is currently in hospital (doing well thankfully) but could have died and not been able to see her son because of this. It has caused her no end of grief over the last month.
I've worked around the problem by using my WiFi but this is a fatal flaw that needs to be urgently addressed.

How do I get iCloud Backup Options to display the list of apps on my iPad? It just spins forever.

I'm trying to set up iCloud backups for my iPad. I go into Manage Storage, selet my iPad from my list of iCloud enabled devices and then I get the Backup Info screen. Its supposed to list all of my applications so I can turn on/off backups on an app by app basis. Unfortunately it just spins forever and the Backup Options list never populates.
This works fine in my iPhone 4s, but not on my iPad.
I don't want to run a backup without doing this since I have a lot of data in a couple of apps and I don't want those backed up.
Is this an iOS bug on the iPad?

Eventually the Settings app just crashes while waiting for the Backup Options list to populate.
When I try an actual backup of my iPad to iCloud it spins for a while and then crashes.

I would like to know if there is some type of plug-in, etc. out there that would allow me to have all the functionality of a Distiller dialog box when I save a PDF out of Illustrator CS5. Right now, I just have what comes installed with Illustrator. It's a stripped down version of what you would find in distiller.

When you save a PDF out of Distiller it doesn't just have different options, it's an entirely different program. It doesn't do things the same way, so it can't have the same options. Saving from Distiller is in many ways better, expecially in that transparency isn't flattened.

I inadvertantly uploaded documents to wrong icloud account. How do I get them back? They were pulled off my ipad to the cloud, but they're in the wrong cloud. Can I move them between accounts somehow?

I accidently created two icloud accounts when setting it up on my iPad. When I opened Pages, the documents on my iPad were moved up to account1. I realized what I had done and then set up account2, which is the one I really need to work with for all of my stuff (account2 is the one migrated from mobile me).

YOu can try to power cycle your router. Un plug it, count to ten, plug it back in and let it reboot and try again.
Or, on your iPad, you can tell it to 'forget' your connection which should force it to connect anew.
A more extreme thing is to go into the settings, general, reset and have it reset all network settings. The downside of that is you'll have to reconnect to every access point you've used.

Synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to/remain on the iPad. It will try to make a backup every time your iPad is plugged to the charger and connected to a network. To prevent that this message appears soon, open Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, and choose Backup Now

How do i get icloud onto my mac

On my system preferences I have a MobileMe symbol but no icloud. My ipad and iphone are in sync with each other but calendar events from these are not transferring to my computer. To run icloud on your mac you'll need to upgrade to at least Lion, but preferably Mountain Lion. You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store. If your system will not run Mountain Lion, but will run Lion, you'll have to call AppleCare to order a redemption code for it, to be used in the App Store.
Before upgrading, be sure your currently important software will run on the newer OS. Always do a backup before upgrading.

Try the below steps on your iPhone,
Go to settings>iCloud and Login with your Apple Id.
Contacts should be on, click on it to turn it off and choose keep (even if it shows you no contacts)
When the process is done go ahead and turn on contacts again, choose merge. All your contacts should show up if you had a previous backup to icloud.

I'm not certain what the feature is called Apple, as I must have hit a random set of keys on the key baord by mistake, but I am having a heck of a time trying to find out how to g close a speakable dialog box to close on my Mac. This is what it looks like - http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5002/savedialogbox.png It's the Black Box in the middle of the screen, with white lettering, and shows and speaks everything that I do.
I've gone to the System Preferences and opened the "Speef" preference and it was "Off," so that can't be it, so any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
