How do I get icloud download of local band cd not matched in itunes store?e

I have subscribed to icloud match and have down loaded itunes music from purchased cds to my ipad2 successfully in the past. I uploaded a local band cd to itunes yesterday and updated my icloud backup, but the music has not downloaded to my ipad2. Can i use Match to transfer music that is not for sale in itunes store? How do I control transfer from lap top pc with itunes to my ipad2?

You might try posting in the music match forum.

If you forgot your AppleID, you will not be able to get that music into iTunes or onto another iPod.

I had to restore my computer to factory settings, this wiped out my itunes and I did not backup. How do I get the music (including music not purchased from itunes) back on my computer?

Assuming the music is sitting on your iPod, try Detune:

Just be careful that you don't allow the "empty" iTunes to wipe your ipod.

  • I keep getting the same error message: We could not complete your ITune store request an unknown error occurred 4001

How do I make this error go away and allow ITunes Match Work?

I purchased iTunes Match several days ago and I am getting the following error when I try to allow iTunes Match to run.  Please advise how to fix this:

  • HT204406 Whenever my computer tries to sync my tracks via iTunes match, I get a message that says "We could not complete your iTunes store request.  An unknown error occurred (4002)...please try again later."  This has been happening for 4 months now.

...how do I resolve this issue?  It's irritating for several reasons:
    1) My new songs do not appear in match on my other devices because of this error
    2) My itunes turns itself on automatically when it knows it needs to match; then the icon starts jumping up and down when the error occurs, distracting me from whatever I'm doing about ever 15 minutes at times.
    3) I've paid for this.  It's working so badly.

    Hi All,
I had this problem today myself, and was frustrated repeatedly by the '4002' error.
I have literally just fixed the issue by doing the following steps:
1: Go to the 'Store' tab and select 'Turn Off iTunes Match'
2: Return to the 'Store' tab and select 'Update Genius'
3: Wait for this to complete succesfully, the return to the 'Store' tab once more and select 'Turn On iTunes Match'.
4: iTunes Match will now go through the motions and should succeed!
    I hope this helps

I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. See the following about how to upgrade:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

    Yes.

I don't know why I don't have one of them since I get any updates available?
Software updates don't upgrade your current operating system to a new one, you have to purchase a newer operting system if you want one.
If you want iCloud, first you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.6 (10.6.8 preferred), then you can download Lion from the app store.
Snow Leopard requirements:  $29 USD from Apple : http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. • How do I get iCloud on my mac laptop running 10.6.8?

I recently purchased a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, running 10.6.8. , mac lap top. There is no icon in the preferences menu
How do I get iCloud on this machine?  I wish to sync all of my other mac devices. G5, imac, iPhone, iPad

iCloud only comes with OSX 10.7.2 or later, you need to upgrade your OS. Go to the Mac App Store and try downloading OSX Mavericks. The store will only let you download it if your computer meets the required specifications.
If you are told your Mac is not compatible with Mavericks, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

  • How do i get icloud onto my mac

On my system preferences I have a MobileMe symbol but no icloud. My ipad and iphone are in sync with each other but calendar events from these are not transferring to my computer. I suspect this is because icloud is the missing link on my mac. I am running Mac 0s X version 10.6.8 is this the problem? How do I get icloud onto my PC or is it a software update issue?

To run icloud on your mac you'll need to upgrade to at least Lion, but preferably Mountain Lion.  You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store.  If your system will not run Mountain Lion, but will run Lion, you'll have to call AppleCare to order a redemption code for it, to be used in the App Store.
Before upgrading, be sure your currently important software will run on the newer OS.  Always do a backup before upgrading.
You can download the iCloud Control panel off of the apple website for your PC, provided it meets the requirements.  http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html
