How do I get iCloud Mail back online.

I keep getting a message from the warning note triangles that say "The server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” refused to allow a connection on port 143".
The incoming server is p99-imap.mail.me.com, the outgoing is smtp.me.com and the User Name and Password is entered correctly.
The Default Ports are selected and SSL is checked under "Edit SMTP Server List".
The Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) continues to show "iCloud (iCloud, Offline)" The "Advanced" Button has Port 143 selected and Authentication is selected "Password".
The email in this iMac has been working correctly until now.  The only thing I can think of that I have changed is that I have recently deleted my cookies.

  • I updated my iMac, and my mail no longer works. It says all of my accounts are "offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

I updated my iMac and now my Mail does not work. It says all of my accounts are"offline". Safari is fine. How do I get my accounts back online?

    Hello there, Lynn.
The following Knowledge Base article explains and offers up some troubleshooting recommendations for issues with email acounts showing offline on Mac Mail:
Mail (Mavericks): If a mailbox is offline
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14925
Lightning bolt icons next to mailboxes in the Mail sidebar identify accounts that are offline.
To take an account online, click the lightning bolt icon. Or choose Mailbox > Online Status > Take [account name] Online, or Mailbox > Take All Accounts Online.
If you can’t take an account online, make sure you’re connected to the Internet. If a warning icon appears after the account name, click it for more information.
    Use Connection Doctor
Some mailbox names can appear dimmed if you don’t have permission to access them, such as “public” mailboxes on a server, or if the mail server is unavailable.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • How do i get icloud contacts back into Outlook contacts?  My outlook contacts got wiped off in a pst export.

How do i get icloud contacts back into Outlook contacts?  My outlook contacts got wiped off in a pst export.
I think i want to tell icloud to sync with Outlook and make icloud the controlling account.  NOT outlook to iclout.  there are 6325 contacts in icloud.  only 12 in outlook.  about 10 days ago i had same amount in OL and icloud.  i had to restore my computer PC.  My iphone is correct.  My PC/ Outlook i not. thanks for any help.

    Hello Otienogo,
Try the below steps on your iPhone,
Go to settings>iCloud and Login with your Apple Id.
Contacts should be on, click on it to turn it off and choose keep (even if it shows you no contacts)
When the process is done go ahead and turn on contacts again, choose merge.  All your contacts should show up if you had a previous backup to icloud.
    Hope this helps you.

  • HOW CAN I GET MY MAIL BACK TO ORIGINAL SETTINGS?

I Have an iMac OS X V10.6.8 using Airport Extreme & WiFi.  I deleted some files on my Apple Mail that I added but I messed up somewhere because I don’t know how to get my Mail back to the was it is when you 1st get an imac and how it’s set up.  Can I reset it back to the original way.  I believed this happened when I synced my AOL Mail I don’t need or want AOL on it anymore.  But I took that off and just want my regular mail back?  Any help out there?  I’ve been trying but no one has been able to help me yet.  If there is no way, just let me know.  Thank you.  Lisa

You can try this tool from Apple
    https://ssl.apple.com/support/mail-settings-lookup/
Also try contacting your email provider for help in setting up for their system

  • How can i get icloud mail

how can i get icloud on the laptop

Your laptop must be running a minimum of Lion 10.7.2 - Mountain Lion preferred. Earlier systems cannot access iCloud.
If you have a suitable system the procedure is to sign in with your Apple ID in System Preferences>iCloud. You will see a checklist including Mail, Calendars and other types of data: check the ones you want to sync to iCloud (note that Calendars and contacts will be actually moved to iCloud and read from there by your Mac and other devices).

  • How do I get iCloud Mail set as preference instead of old Apple Mail?

Every time I click on a hyperlink e-mail address, it opens the old Apple Mail program.  How do I set everything to go to iCloud mail?

Open Applications/Utilities/AppleScrupt Editor. Paste in the following:
    tell application "Safari"
      open location "https://www.icloud.com/#mail"
    end tell
Save it with a suitable title and make sure to set 'File format' to 'Application'. Place it anywhere convenient.
Now go to Mail Preferences>General and click the 'Default email reader' menu: choose 'Select' and navigate to your AppleScript.

  • How do I get iCloud mail from another computer?

I would like to access my iCloud mail from a friend's computer. How do I do that?

I apologize for making an incorrect assumption.  After searching now for about 30 minutes I cannot find one conclusive article from Apple that states in plain terms that you cannot access your iCloud email from another computer. I cannot find anything in the ASC when i do a search either. That really seems absurd to me, and probably another reason why I refuse most of the iCloud services myself.
Anyway, that is of not help to you and I apologize for that. This is the most conclusive evidence that I can find that states that you can't read iCloud email on another computer unless that computer is set up with iCloud.

I hope for your sake, that I am missing something and it is possible to access mail from another computer, otherwise it is really pointless to rely on iCloud email. I/we have to be missing something somewhere ... I hope.

  • How can I get imported mail back into standard inboxes? 10.3 to 10.5

I'm moving from 10.3 to 10.5 and have managed to copy all my mail and settings over from old system manually. Then used Import to point mail to the mboxes. Now all my mail is in Imported mail folder. It's a good start but is there a way to get it all back into the main Inbox so I can carry on as before? I have 4 accounts. Can't seem to drag&drop. Could make new folders as suggested in another thread but can only create folders in On My Mac section. Any suggestions? Weirdly the imported mail has duplicated all the folders (iboxes/outboxes etc) and only one of them actually contains mails...

Of everything I read nothing mentioned the simplest way of selecting a folder in the import folder e.g. Inbox for an account and then selecting all the mails in that folder and using the Message > Move To menu command. I hope this helps somebody.

  • How do i get my mail back after erase & install of Lion?

I am not using Time Machine as Genius Bar at the Apple store told me it was best not to (I was continually having errors and so GeniusBar erased my hard drive and reinstalled Lion).
They said to then manually drag over documents onto my hard drive, avoiding the Applications, so no possible errors could be dragged back onto the clean hard drive.
But now I have Mail and none of my folders and previous accounts. Of course I can re-setup my accounts, but then they will just try to redownload all of the millions of emails I had before. None of the very organised folders I previously had, sent messages, etc, etc.
Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Problem is if those emails are not on the Mail servers they are gone for good. Sorry.
The only way to tell is to setup the accounts and see what gets downloaded.
    Good Luck.

  • How can I get icloud to back up my computer?

I am set up with icloud and had the icloud icon on my desktop, which worked without problems for several months.
Now the icloud icon is gone, and the only way to retrieve the saved documents is in a file entitled "previous local idisks".
I looked under icloud settings, and none of the memory has been used, which means nothing is in my icloud.
Not sure what the problem is! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iCloud will not back up your computer. Only documents you can save in iCloud is photostream photos and documents created with Apple Applications within iCloud itself (pages, numbers, keynote), your Address Book contacts and Calendars. You can also back up iPhone & iPad settings.
iDisk was part of MMe and is going away or has gone away. I'm not sure of the exact date, but the deadline may have expired. If you have documents in iDisk and you did not save them to another location, they may be lost.

  • How do I get iCloud to back up to my new phone?

I need to get the iCloud backup that's on my old phone to my new one

To restore the iCloud backup of your old phone, go to Settings>General>Reset on your new phone, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old phone to restore to.
Be sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as it is restoring the backup.  After restoring your settings it will restart and begin restoring your camera roll and download your apps and other purchased media.

  • How do I get iCloud app back on my iPhone 4?

Hi I somehow have lost my iCloud app on my iphone4 and can't seem to be able to download it back on? Can anyone please hellp?

One more questio: are the photos that are not syncing to your computer photos that were added to the camera roll before you turned on photo stream on your phone?  If so, this is normal.  Only photos added to the camera roll on your phone after turning on photo stream are uploaded to your photo stream, not photos added before turning it on.

  • I can't stay connected to internet. I've changed my location. Same thing. All my other devices are working fine. How can I get my iMac back online?

I am unable to connect to the internet.  WiFi, ethernet all working fine. Multiple devices can connect to the internet. Diagnostic on iMac says I'm connected and should be able to access the internet.  This is all beyond me.  I've changed the location, it appeared to set every thing up. Still doen't work. It must be corrupted so how do I clean it up?

    Power Cycle
Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait for few  minutes.
Connect the router back to to the wall.
Power the router back on. Wait  until all lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
    Restart the computer.
    Start up in Safe Mode.

  • How can I get iCloud mail on my Kindle Fire?

I followed the destructions, er I mean instructions on the Help page for SMTP setup, tried a couple different variations of authentication, but ultimately, nothing works.

The correct settings are listed here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
(note that SMTP is the outgoing server)
It's necessary for the email app in question to be able to handle IMAP and SSL, and I don't know whether the Kindle does this.
