Install 10.7.2 or greater which is required for iCloud.
If you need to purchase Lion call 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. Ask for a Sales Representative. They will check your Apple ID, and email you a code and instructions.  The cost is $29.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
Or you can upgrade to Mountain Lion:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
You can purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store.

How do I get icloud on my macbook pro? It is not in the System Preference section.

    Install 10.7.2 or later.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,

    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

  • HT4759 how do i get icloud on my macBook pro so i can find my iphone?

How do I download ICloud on my MacBook Pro so that i may pick up my iphone that was missed place?

Unless you have the 10.7.2 or better operating system you cannot use Icloud, if you already have the operating system you already have icloud.
So far as finding your phone goes, you would need to have activated "find my phone" on your phone already, if you haven't you will be unable to locate your phone. If you have you can go to the icloud.com website and locate your phone, assuming of course it is turned on and connected to the network.

I will end up getting something other than Logitech speakers, since I'm just weird like that.
Your not weird, your a audiophile.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audiophile
Good sound costs money. And with a 5.1 system your usually doing surround sound decoding for BlueRay movies etc. for home theater purposes.
The PC 5.1 surround sound systems require a audio card in a PC tower and mainly used for playing 3D games so that won't work for any Mac at all. So don't buy a PC 5.1 surround sound system for your Mac.
Harmon Kardon has the GoPlay, it's a portable stereo with awesome sound (not as good as their theater systems) and you can hook up a analog male/male stereo mini cable to it from the Mac.
$200 and it has a iPod dock and also takes like 8 batteries so it's portable.

There is also the Bose Wave clock/radio, you will need a stereo mini to RCA break out cable for that.

The GoPlay has much better sound than the Bose, I think the Bose are overpriced.

How do i get iDVD on my macbook pro?  I cant find iDVD in the search box or in finer.  Why would the macbook install imovie without installing iDVD too?  I need to burn my video off of iMovie so i need iDVD to do that for me.  Ive tried downloading iDVD for free on websites but it didnt work, it's not compatible. I searched th eapp store whish is on the macbook but all it has is ilife'11 which only has iPhoto, iMovie, and Garageband but no iDVD.  I don't know what else to do.  I cant find IDVD anywhere.

    howdy,
You have to buy the whole package from apple.com.
    Notice iWeb also missing.
Rumor that individual "titles" will be available but no more revs. Product about to go to ga ga (Lady GaGa?) land not to return
N.B. iDVD and iWeb not revised in latest offering.

How do I get apps from my MacBook pro to my ipad

If they apps were bought on iTunes on your Mac then you can connect the iPad to your Mac, select the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and use the Apps tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to sync them to the iPad - or you can re-download them directly on the iPad via the App Store app.
If you bought the apps in the Mac App Store then you can't sync them to the iPad as Mac apps are not compatible with the iPad

  • How can I get Minecraft onto my Macbook Pro?

How can I get Minecraft onto my Macbook Pro? It is 15 inch Retina display, and it is Version 10.9.1 . I download the game, log in and press play, but as soon as it finishes loading, the blue bar goes away and nothing else happens!
    It goes from this:
    To this:
And on the development console it says this:

    Hello EpicEmma,
I just had this problem today!, but i have a SOLUTION ,
right click the finder icon and click "go to folder"
    type : "~Library/ Application Support
Find the minecraft folder, Backup your Saves, (drag the saves folder onto the desktop) *OPTIONAL*
delete the minecraft folder, not the application.
Open the minecraft Launcher (it will take a while to start up)
Put in login info and when its loaded up, press "play"
The blue bar will take a minute or two...
And then... it should start normally
U dont need to repeat the steps every time u open Minecraft. You can later replace the saves folder with the new one back to where it was whenever you want at the same place where it used to be before. Hope this helped!
