How do i get icloud onto my mac os x version 10.6.3

how do I get icloud onto my mac os x version 10.6.3?

You need 10.7.5 or later for iCloud.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
     OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
         1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
         2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
             Model Identifier 5,1 or later
         3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
         5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
         7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
     Lion System Requirements
       1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
           or Xeon processor
       2. 2GB of memory
       3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
       4. 7GB of available space
       5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

My mac has mobileme in system preferences, i have an icloud account how do I get icloud onto my mac?

Thanks Michael, I am just downloading it now, it seems to be taking a really long time and there is no progress bar telling me how long the download will take, is this normal?

  • How do i get icloud onto my mac

On my system preferences I have a MobileMe symbol but no icloud. My ipad and iphone are in sync with each other but calendar events from these are not transferring to my computer. I suspect this is because icloud is the missing link on my mac. I am running Mac 0s X version 10.6.8 is this the problem? How do I get icloud onto my PC or is it a software update issue?

To run icloud on your mac you'll need to upgrade to at least Lion, but preferably Mountain Lion.  You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store.  If your system will not run Mountain Lion, but will run Lion, you'll have to call AppleCare to order a redemption code for it, to be used in the App Store.
Before upgrading, be sure your currently important software will run on the newer OS.  Always do a backup before upgrading.
You can download the iCloud Control panel off of the apple website for your PC, provided it meets the requirements.  http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html

No it does not. The 2 are separate.
To get Pages on your Mac mini purchase it from the Mac App Store. The icon is on your Dock.

Your signature says you have 10.6.2.
@knitternutter: you don't state you system (please always do so).
Snow Leopard and earlier are not compatible with iCloud: the minimum requirement is Lion 10.7. 2 - as Lion is no longer available you need Mountain Lion if your machine is capable of being upgraded to it.
MobileMe closed in July. Even if your username and password are correct, you can't sign in in the MobileMe preference pane because there is nothing to sign in to.
I know that the login and password are the ones that I use for my Mac
If you mean your username and password for your user account on your Mac, this has nothing to do with MobileMe or iCloud. If you had a paid for MobileMe account you would have a username in the form [email protected] or @mac.com and you could use this to open an iCloud on Lion or above. Otherwise you would have to create or use your Apple ID, again on Lion or above.

You won't find iCloud in Snow Leopard. Upgrade to Mountain Lion.

  • HT1557 how do I get icloud on my mac?

I have both an iPhone 5 and Ipad mini which both use iCloud and which I find great as my photos are shared between the both.  I also have a Mac Book so thought I'd take the plunge and set it up on there too.  However, it doesn't appear in the System Preferences.  I have a MacBook Pro running Max OS X 10.6.8 and from viewing some documents on the Apple Website it says to go into System Preferences, and set up iCloud from under the Internet & Wireless section. The trouble is, I only have an option for MobileMe (which I am assuming has now been replaced by iCloud?).  Can anyone tell me how I get 'MobileMe' updated, or get iCloud on my Mac please?  Many thanks.

  • How do I get iCloud on my mac laptop running 10.6.8?

I recently purchased a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, running 10.6.8. , mac lap top. There is no icon in the preferences menu
How do I get iCloud on this machine?  I wish to sync all of my other mac devices. G5, imac, iPhone, iPad

iCloud only comes with OSX 10.7.2 or later, you need to upgrade your OS. Go to the Mac App Store and try downloading OSX Mavericks. The store will only let you download it if your computer meets the required specifications.
If you are told your Mac is not compatible with Mavericks, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

  • How do I get iCloud onto my MacBook for free?

Is there a way I can get iCloud onto my MacBook for free?

It isn't, 10.6.8 is Snow Leopard.
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), by calling Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775.

  • Music from my N85... how do i get it onto my mac i...

hi, can you help?? I have a mac and a nokia n85.. i am able to sync them using isync but the music i bluetooth to my mac is not able to be played by itunes as it appears as a scrambled document... i can find loads of info on how to get music from my mac to my phone but I cannot find anything on how to get music from my phone to my mac.. can anyone help??? please xxx

Do you have a back up of any kind or an iPod that has your music on it? If not you need to look for a data recovery program. Recovery programs are not particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks which you will have to pay to download again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.
The policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again: "Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Help!  NOTES program...how do I get them onto my Mac???

Does anyone know if I can download a program to place my iphone Notes onto my Mac? It would seem really silly if there isn't.

Not supported by Apple at the present time - downloading/installing any 3rd party software on the iPhone requires using a hack but (and this is conjecture on my part), this is likely to be supported with the Notes feature that will be included with the Leopard Mail application.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/features/mail.html
Recall that Leopard was originally scheduled to be released prior to the iPhone's release date but was pushed back until October due to the iPhone.
If so, this will be additional motivation for OS X users that own an iPhone to upgrade to Leopard.

  • How can I get iCloud on my iMac OS X version 10.6.8?

    Dear Community,
I just barely bought an iMac today which is the OS X 10.6.8 version. I'm excited about it but hen saddened when I found out that iCloud requires version 10.7 and up! Is there any way that I can get iCloud to work on my iMac?
