The current Apple thinking is that the entire world has access to fast broadband and wants to distribute home movies to friends and relatives via download (iCloud) rather than mailing them a DVD. The fact that in reality not all users do, has so far had no effect on this policy. If you scream and shout loudly enough down the phone Apple may send you a free copy of iDVD. That worked for some, but is now said to have been withdrawn by Apple. Also, you can complain bitterly here, perhaps suggesting that Apple could have provided a choice between using iCloud and burning DVDs:

Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that comes with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or will come with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD. Also, of course, there is Roxio Toast.

If you have the disks that came with your 2009 MacBook you can try using Pacifist Pacifist on the iMac to extract and install iDVD from that disk onto the iMac. Then remove iDVD from the MacBook for legality sake.
Otherwise you will need to purchase a copy of iLife 11 (boxed version) from the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of this page). Since iDVD has been discontinued it would be a good idea to get a copy of iLife 11 while it is still available. That would simplify installing iDVD (or iWeb) at a later date if ever need be.

Hi to all,
Recently purchased FCPX from the app store, downloaded fine onto my primary iMac, but how do I get it onto my second (backup) iMac? My understanding is that I can have it on more than one computer?
When I go into my iTunes account information it shows as being purchased but it does not show in "purchased Apps" to download again, am I missing something here?

Hi blimpmedia, thanks for the response! Your suggestion was 100% correct but I could not work out why it would not work on my 2nd Mac. After spending about 40 minutes on hold with Apple Support I discovered that the version of OSX that I had on the 2nd computer (6.1.1) was not compatible with the latest App Store page view.
I have now downloaded the OSX update, the App Store page is now providing me the "download" option and is downloading FCPX it as I write this!
Many thanks, and I hope that this helps other FCPX buyers too, as this seems to be a common issue out there.

I just had this problem today!, but i have a SOLUTION ,
right click the finder icon and click "go to folder"
type : "~Library/ Application Support
Find the minecraft folder, Backup your Saves, (drag the saves folder onto the desktop) *OPTIONAL*
delete the minecraft folder, not the application.
Open the minecraft Launcher (it will take a while to start up)
Put in login info and when its loaded up, press "play"
The blue bar will take a minute or two...
And then... it should start normally
U dont need to repeat the steps every time u open Minecraft. You can later replace the saves folder with the new one back to where it was whenever you want at the same place where it used to be before. Hope this helped!

you can burn dvd's using disc utility in your utilities folder, or if you want iDVD, you will need to purchase the iLife '11 boxed set.

To run icloud on your mac you'll need to upgrade to at least Lion, but preferably Mountain Lion. You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store. If your system will not run Mountain Lion, but will run Lion, you'll have to call AppleCare to order a redemption code for it, to be used in the App Store.
Before upgrading, be sure your currently important software will run on the newer OS. Always do a backup before upgrading.

No it does not. The 2 are separate.
To get Pages on your Mac mini purchase it from the Mac App Store. The icon is on your Dock.

iDVD is no longer developed or shipped by Apple. You can purchase an iLife 11 disk (if you can find one) or purchase an alternative DVD authoring app.
SInce 10.7 should you need to re-install you do so via the Recovery partition and/or the App Store.
