How do i get internet explorer on my iMac

how do i get internet explorer on my iMac

If all you want  to do is use IE because some sites insists on it then what is suggested above may work, i.e, change the user agent to make the site think you are using IE.  Most browsers support that feature either directly as in Safari or with add-on/extensions.  The only things that may go wrong is some drawing or a few other things may not work properly  if the site uses some non-standard IE-only html conventions.  My opinion of that is if a web site is going to take that kind of windows-centric attitude in this day and age of multiple browsers then screw 'em.

Unfortunately no, you can make a change in Safari to allow it to appear to be IE to the website but if any Windows specific services (such as Active X) are needed it still won't work.
If you absolutely must have IE you should install Windows, preferably in a Virtual Machine, like Parallels.

  • How do I get internet explorer

How do I get internet explorer for MAC.  I am only able to access a military site for work via IE.

IE for Mac hasn't existed since OS9 days.  I think there are some browsers that will fake their identity, telling web sites that they are IE when they are really something else.  The site may then work providing it doesn't really, really need IE.  I don't have a list in front of me but browse the web for something like browser emulation (user agent).
Here's an older tip for Safari

How can I install internet explorer on my macbook pro? Thanks!

Install Windows 7 into a virtual machine program (IE comes with it), I suggest VirtualBox as it's free and gets updates for near forever. However VMFusion and Parallels has more features but then to drop you if you don't upgrade OS X.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?

  • How do I get Internet Explorer on my Macbook Pro?

I need to get on a website for work and it can only be run through internet explorer. Trust me, I know this *****, but I don't know how to get around it. So I need to find a way to get Internet Explorer on my Macbook Pro.

You run it through Windows or CrossOver Mac. The Mac OS X version of Windows Explorer doesn't work in 10.7 and won't be updated to do so or patch security holes.

  • HT1222 How can I get Internet Explore 6 for Mac

    Dear Friends
Happy New Year to you all
I need Internet Explore 6 to instal in my mac book pro how can I get it installed

If some website is saying you need IE 6, try this:
Enable the Develop Menu in Safari Preferences.
Then choose one of the IE user Agents. Then try the site again.
This won't work with a site that is programmed to use only ActiveX controls.

  • How do you get Internet Explorer 9 from shutting down while trying to print from Smart Print button?

I'm using Internet Explorer 9, and have the latest Smart Print button on my Bing Bar.  When I click on Smart Print to print a page, it lets me go through the entire process of choosing what I want to print, and lets me click on print, which brings me to the print options, but when I click on the final print button, I get a Microsoft error message saying "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message and it closes down my opened page.  How do I print if I keep getting this message?

It boggles the mind.  The Verizon store on L Street downtown Washington, D.C. cannot access my Verizon account.  They can only sell cellphones then it's up to me to contact Verizon on my own to get the hook up. Yes, it indeed boggles the mind.  I'm of course referring to the fact that your post concerns Verizon Wireless products and services.  This forum is dedicated exclusively to Verizon Communications services.   As you probably know, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Communications operate as separate companies.
If you need help for a Verizon wireless product or service, it's best to direct questions to the Verizon Wireless forums.  You can reach them by clicking on "Wireless" (either here or at the top of the page).
Good luck and I sincerely hope you get your issue resolved.

  • HT4991 How to I get internet explorer on my mac. Please help?

I have just purchased my Mac Air to use in a business that uses microsft small business server.
For some reason, I cannot use the sharepoint without internet explorer.
Does anyone know how I can load this onto the Mac Air please?

There is no IE for the Mac. The Mac version of IE ceased to exist at least 7 or 8 years ago. You can try using FireFox instead of Safari or you can enable the Develop menu in Safari by checking that option in the Advanced panel of Safari's preferences. You can then change the User Agent to IE 7, 8, or 9 and see if that helps.

  • How do I get Internet explorer on my mac

I just started an at home job and I find I need Internet Explorer to do one aspect of this job. Any advice on what I need to do and what exactly is Boot Camp?
    thanks
    Arlene

Microsoft has not written IE for Mac for years. BootCamp creates a partition so you can install Windows. You will need a Windows installation disc.
    See the BootCamp installation guide.

I have some applications that require internet explorer which I cannot use in my iMac. Is it possible to do this ??

You could also get the now extremely outdated Internet Explorer for Mac: http://internet-explorer-for-mac.en.softonic.com/mac
    I wouldn't recommend it, though.

  • How to get Internet Explorer to ask for Open/Save

For most binary file types, Internet Explorer asks whether you want to open or save the file, and gives you a further choice of skipping that prompt in the future. Nothing I do gives me access to this prompt for PDFs and Adobe Reader. On a computer out of the box, with a fresh installed of Adobe Reader set not to open PDFs in a browser window, a click on a link to a PDF will open automatically in Adobe Reader. It will not prompt me whether I want to open or save the file.
I can edit this choice in the registry for any other type of file. For instance, if I set MP3s to open automatically in Windows Media Player when clicked, and then I change my mind, I can delete a certain key in the registry and I'll be prompted once again. This is not true for PDFs associated with Adobe Reader.
So my question is, how can I get Internet Explorer to prompt me whether I want to open or save the PDF?
I'm using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

From Microsoft ou will see IE is not available for the Mac:

You can try the web page in Safari (which is already installed), or
try downloading and installing firefox (download from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) or
    try google chrome (https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/?brand=CHMA&utm_campaign=en&utm_so urce=en-ha-na-us-bk&utm_medium=ha)

Virtual Box free, Windows 7 Home Premium System Builder SP1 $92.
IE9 is and can be secure and work just fine and I do prefer it to others, but Firefox lets me work in Apple Community easier is all.
Safari still bogs down trying to open multiple tabs, isn't multi-thread efficient, isn't memory efficient or well behaved - beyond the advandages of keeping code in memory it is still a memory hog. Open the same 20 tabs in any other browser is the best way I know. I also don't trust Google that much for security, I consider Google tracking and adsense to be a nuisance. Firefox gives some semblance, especially with add-ons, to tracking, cookies, privacy, and blocking content the best.
