How do I get Ipad apps to also go to iphone?

I have auto download set to "ON" for both ipad2 and iphone but they don't seem to be sharing the apps I bought. Does it take several days for that to happen automatically? I have synced both devices to the same itunes computer but the new apps don't share with each device.

No it should not take days for the apps to download, but of course the device has to be turned on and connected to Wifi or the apps will not download.
Are the apps compatible with the iOS on both devices? If you are trying to download apps to a device whose iOS will not run it, the apps may not download to it.
You are using the same Apple ID on both devices and have it set up in Settings>Stores>Automatic Downloads>Apps>On?

iWork has got a version for Mac and another for iOS. You have purchased iWork for Mac, so you can install it for free in all your Macs, but you haven't purchased iWork for iOS.
You have to purchase iWork because the iPhone and iPad use a different operating system than the Mac and there are different versions

What apps? Are these apps you purchased or downloaded from the iOS App Store?
If so start iTunes on your Mac and connect your iPhone. Then sync your apps.
Alternately you can use the App Store app on your phone and download previously purchased apps directly to the phone.

You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

Instructions on syncing your iPad can be found here:

and in the accompanying documents linked from that page. Syncing your iPad with iTunes copies items, it doesn't move them. The only way apps would be actually removed from your iPad during syncing is if you had iTunes set to remove them on syncing, so check the appropriate settings in iTunes, set the book to sync as well, and then sync the iPad again.

You should be able to copy it from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, or you should be able to re-download it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store home page - if that says that it's already downloaded, then that implies that it's already on your computer
