since upgrading to ios8 when I want to download a pdf, from safari, the default app it tries to download to is itunesU instead of iBooks. it does come up with other options, including iBooks, but you have to find iBooks from the list. on ios7 it would default to iBooks.
can the default pdf download app be changed?. Other people I know don't have this issue so there must be something in my settings which creates this issue.
i am not sure why it wants ro default to itunesU as I never use this app.
Any help would be hugely appreciated as I download a lot of pdfs from safari web pages and this is getting frustrating.

I have this problem too. I'm thinking maybe the last downloaded app becomes the default, so perhaps deleting iBooks and redownloading it will make it default? I haven't treid yet though, I don't want to have to download all my PDFs again (from different websites).

I was having battery issues with iOS 8.0.2 and was asked by Apple to back my phone up, restore it and then use it as a new phone in order to test the battery performance. health data isn't backed up unless you encrypt your backup. Very stupid if you ask me for Apple to decide that this data is somehow more sacrosanct than any other data I have on my iPhone. If I backup my phone, I expect it ALL to be backed up. If I was worried about the security of my health data, I would choose encryption, but that should be MY decision. For Apple to decide its better for me to lose all my important health data just because I don't want to encrypt it is insane.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.

I installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional on a machine running Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I have tried creating PDFs from MS Office files (using the Acrobat PDFMaker toolbar). I have also tried printing to Adobe PDF, from within MS office but also elsewhere (e.g. IE, Notepad). No matter the creation method, I am prompted for a file name and location and then the Acrobat PDFMaker window appears with a taskbar and message "Coverting to Adobe PDF..." The process hangs there and a print job appears in the Adobe PDF printer with a status of "Error - Printing." How do I get the process to stop hanging and successfully create PDFs?

FWIW, a former colleague was also frustrated with this "Error - Printing" hang-up problem, when printing from any app to Adobe PDF, with Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on a Win7x64 system. I recall forum threads on that issue, with no clear resolution?. What did work on every print job, though, was the two-step method: (a) Print to File with Adobe PDF, then (b) fire up Acrobat Distiller 9 to convert the intermediate .prn Postscript file. (It would seem that Acrotray wasn't functioning properly in a x64 environment?...though it did run as one of the pc startup processes)
As that two-step method was acceptable for his workflow, he never explored the possibility of getting a fluent one-step PDF creation by upgrading to the highest available v9x version, or beyond.

It seems to happen with songs that were purchased before synchronizing the new iPhone
I will tell you how I fixed it.
Note: I have iTunes in spanish so I will try to translate and figure out the commands that appear on ITunes in english. I will put my translations into brackets. English is not my native language. I will do my best.
The workaround is:
1.- Dragg no working songs from iTunes to a folder on the hard disk. (Only for backup purposes)
2.- Deleted those songs from iTunes library.
3.- On the left panel in ITunes click on "Purchased" under the STORE option. All your purchased songs will appear on the right panel
4.- At the bottom and right there is the option : "Download Previous Purchases". Click there.
5.- Click on the option "Are not in my Library" (top right)
6.- The songs you deleted from iTunes will appear.
7.- Downloaded them again. (You have the option to download at the bottom right)
8.- Syncronize your iPhone and that's all.

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.
