How do i get itunes 6.0.4 to "add" mp3s created using itunes 2.0.4?

clearly, in OS 9 the iTunes 2.0.4 Library data file and iTunes Music folder are in different locations than in OS 10. how does one elegantly 'move' these files so they are recogized by iTunes 6.0.4? i have discovered that by opening each mp3 imported by 2.0.4, a folder and icon for the song are added to the iTunes Music folder in 6.0.4, and the song is added to the 6.0.4 Library. Is there a simpler way to import my files into 6.0.4 without having to 'play' each song? my thanks to the community!

Make sure that the option to copy tracks to the iTunes Music folder when adding to library is selected (iTunes Advanced -> General preference). Then just use the "Add to Library" command (iTunes File menu).

You can copy those songs to a cd and then put a copy to your itunes media library.

So the contacts were synced to the computer you no longer have? You could use a free app like MCBackup and email the contacts from the ipad to yourself and open the email on your phone and then import the contacts from the email to the phone

If you don't have a backup, then all your pics/text/notes are gone.
You can sync back music and app. If you were syncing your contacts with a program in itunes, then you'll get that back.
Not sure why you didn't do a backup, especially prior to doing an upgrade.

It sounds like you might have broken links to your content. Either repair these by putting the files you've recovered where iTunes expects to find them or delete the broken entries then go to iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on This Computer, and click the download links.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music that you've bought from other sources or copied from your own CDs then have you not got a backup of them on, for example, an external drive that you can copy onto the computer ? Are you syncing to a different computer? Iphone will sycn with only one at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
Otherwise, just select what you want to be on the iphone under the music tab and sync. What do you care if it erases? You will be syncing what you want to the iphone.

I want to be able to sync my iPad with both iCal on the iMac and Outlook 2010 in Microsoft Office 2010, installed in Parallels 7. What happens is that when I connect the iPad to the iMac (USB) it syncs directly with iCal via iTunes. How can I get the iPad to sync Outlook 2010 in Parallels via iTunes as well? Do I have to download and install another copy of iTunes in Windows 7 in Parallels?

Don't think that's possible as iOS devices can only be synced to one iTunes library at a time.
Is there a specific reason you're using Outlook?
