If you are using OTA (over-the-air) update on the device itself (Settings>General>Software Update and only available under iOS 5.x or above), try updating it through iTunes instead by connecting the device to your syncing PC.

The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

i have a question about the update server!! apples server is a specific sours right!? form where you download the updates if there are any. and all apples when check for updates are using the server as a sours to download those updates. lets pretend its a road splited into 2 ways, the left sight gose to apples ubdate server, the right sight gose to sowehere else i dont know where, so is it somehow possible that in network settings the server option changed to another location,meaning when i'm checking for update or want to download, the internet is not connecting the apples server like changed its way to onother sours which is not providing apples support, and now i can't connect to the apple update server. i know sounds rediculuse but any way as i'm not good in those things so asking to those who might know.

I made an in-app purchase and it won't download. It keeps saying I've already purchased this in-app purchase but it hasn't been downloaded. It then say's Oops! Your transaction didn't go through, Please try again! and I have several times. The purchase has already been charged to my credit card on file.
Open the App Store and navigate to purchased, it should show the missing app under Not On This ipad. There should be a small cloud icon you can click on to download it.

I do not have the new version of Firefox installed because it had all kinds of problems so I went back to the version I had--I believe it was 3.6.24. I can not store all my Music on my internal Macbook pro hard drive so I am storing it on a large external drive connected to my airport extreme (2 TB drive plugged into the USB port). I see the drive on my laptop and I can add and delete files no problem. How do I get Itunes to search for the music here with out trying to copy it to my laptop's hard drive? I don't have enough space to do that.
How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. How can I get updates for Photoshop CS5 to download to my new Mac book pro where CS5 is already installed from my original disk? I have tried many times over 2 days. The Adobe auto updater is highly unreliable.
You need to look for and download the update yourself and then manually apply it as per the detailed instructions on the download page:

How do I get my downloads to open automatically, right now I have to find where my download folder is each time and then find the file I just downloaded. My download pop up screeen is also blank.
This should not have changed all by itself but it should be easy to change back

If the iTunes purchases are not in your iTunes library you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you restore from backup, not that synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup and thus if those items are not in the iTunes library they can't be restored to the iPod during the latter part of the restore process.
