How do i get itunes to sync all my music between my imac and my macbook?

Hi!
I have all my music stored currently on my imac. With icloud, i was under the impression that all my music would be able to be synced over to my imac for when i am not at home. It seems that any new songs i buy from itunes are synced across and available on both devices but is it possiblt to sync everything across (including things i purchased before icloud)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The two computers do not sync. It appears that you have successfully enabled automatic downloads for both computers, which is great for new purhases.
For purchases before automatic downloads, you'll have to go get them for each computer. You'll be able to download them all or just the ones not currently in your library. Hmm, not sure I understand how that might have happened. It seems as if the media folder has been pointed to the wrong level, put in a pre-iTunes 9 layout and then updated. All the <Artist> folders should be moved from iTunes to iTunes\iTunes Media\Music. Assuming iTunes moved the files around the filenames should be as expected. WMP, for example. might use different character substitutions for illegal characters and can user longer file and folder names. If anything remains broken FindTracks can take up the slack.

How do i stop itunes from syncing all my music to iphone

I have a problem where I have all my music syncing on to my iPhone even when "sync music" is unchecked in the iTunes application.
The data bar at the bottom of the screen shows that the sync worked (increased data amounts become available) but the music is still on the iphone.
I have even deleted music off my laptop but it still shows on the iPhone.
I've read the discussions on similar issues but can't seem to find a remedy. I discovered this problem when I needed to create some free space on the phone to add an app update. I decided to just keep my Top Rated music on the phone but as I say, everything is still there. The sync's seem to work.
Any ideas please. I've spent a fair amount of time already on this.
I am using ms notebook. iphone 5 with latest software (iOS 8.1.3).

I understand that you would like to remove your music from your iPhone but are thus far unsuccessful. I know that you have already unchecked the Sync Music box and report that the music remained on your iPhone, but did you click the Apply button in the bottom right hand corner of iTunes after you unchecked that box? If not please try this step and let me know if the issue continues.

Click the Sync button in the lower-right corner of the screen to sync your content. Only the information in the content list you've enabled syncing for will sync to your computer. If you made any changes to any of the settings, first click the apply button.

How do you get Itunes to recognize all the music in your library when you buy the backup in the cloud? Alot of my music was not backed up. These are songs I burned off my CD collection. Itunes Match did not recognize them either?

A couple of options. Do you want your whole library on the other drive or just media? You can split media between drives starting with now, but this will be a big nuisance when you come to move your library in the future.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. Last time I cleaned off my mac and restored/reloaded my music I had to rename all those songs again. It took me about 2 weeks to reorganize my music. How do I get iTunes to remember all of those names and keep everything exactly the same when I restore/reload the music into iTunes?

Use Time Machine, backup everything, do the reinstall (I recommend you don't do it) then restore your user folder with Time Machine.

How can I synch Mail application between an iMac and a Macbook Pro

I want to be able to go back and forth between my iMac and my Macbook Pro using Mail application.
I don't want to set up two completely separate accounts.
Has anyone had to do this and if so, how do I do it?

I can't get a thunderbolt connection to work between my iMac and new macbook air

I would like to establish a connection between my iMac and new macbook air using a thunderbolt connector. Nothing seems to happen when I plug the cable in to each device. When I open Settings/Network it shows up the Thunderbolt bridge as 'Not Connected' on the MacBook and as 'Some Connected' on the iMac. I have no problems with connecting another device (iPad) to the iMac. Can anyone help please?

Easy enough to sync iTunes albums to the iPad, but how about albums that currently exist only on the iPad? How do you get iTunes to import photo albums it doesn't currently know about? For example I have an app that saves it's files to an album called 'Saved'. I want iTunes to make a local computer copy during 'sync'. I was transferring files from the iPad to the computer via WiFi, but at least on my iPad, WiFi is extremely unreliable, often dropping the connection during data transfers. I finally gave up and decided to do this via USB until Apple gets their act together.

If you are transferring photos from iPhoto on your Mac, you mean the iPhoto albums that are available to select under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences? if so, this is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPad.
iTunes does not handle the import of photos from your iPad, which can include photos imported from a digital camera or from a digital camera's storage card with the Camera Connection Kit, or a photo saved from a received email, from a website, or by a 3rd party app that is capable of saving a photo in the same location.
It sounds like the app developer has allowed for transferring photos saved by the app in the app's "Saved" area to your computer via an available wi-fi network that both your computer and iPad are connected to. Unless the app developer allows for saving the photos from the app's "Saved" area to the same location where a photo saved from a received email or from a website is stored, there is no way to import these photos via iPhoto or the Image Capture application on your Mac, which is used for importing photos, not iTunes.

Hi, I have just recently purchased a new laptop, I am transferring the music from my old library to my new library via USB and they are now sucessfully transferred however how do I get iTunes to automatically file the music in my computers documents?

I want my iTunes library to be saved and stored in my music documents in my laptop like they would be if you bought the songs but how do I get iTunes to do this?
