How do I get just phone numbers on my contacts
Have a new iphone and want to get my contacts saved but not the email address
Depends on where you're attempting to get the info from. If you're getting the contacts to sync from Address Book etc then it will pull whatever details are listed within that.
Alternatively it would be a matter of creating the contacts manually sans email, or syncing and then removing the email after the sync.

Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer, or over the air with an email account that supports it. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for contacts which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair by being dropped, etc.
If you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, you select the same under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.
If you are syncing contacts over the air with an email account that supports it, create the account with the Mail app on your new iPhone and turn Contacts on for over the air syncing with the account settings on the iPhone.
Contacts are included with the iPhone's backup. If your iPhone is being backed up with iTunes on your computer, the first time you connect a new iPhone to iTunes on a computer being synced with another iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone. -

I switched from a droid to an iPhone recently and with the droid all of my facebook contacts with phone numbers were synced into my phone and I can't figure out how to do that with my iPhone. Do you mean you want to recover your Contacts? The only way to do that would be if you have them saved somewhere - do you use iCloud sync, or do you regularly sync them to your computer? If not, they are gone.

Alright, since I've converted to iCloud, I'm now adding new contacts in there. However... before I was adding phone numbers through Address Book on my Macbook (that ended up creating a conflict with iCloud so I'm now using iCloud). What I want to know is... in address book you can set up a "default template" for your contacts (to include spouses, children, multiple addresses, phone numbers etc) I have created several labels for phone numbers, so I know which carrier they are since most of my contacts have 2-4 cell phones (all different carriers). Anyways, in address book I have for example ATT as the primary one on the list and then example: Verizon, Sprint, Tmobile & last the home phone). I have it set in that way, so even if someone only has ATT & Sprint, ATT will be at the top. Since I switched to iCloud (the carriers are all jumbled around in the contact and the reason I had placed them in a specific order is because I have one or two of those first carriers). Please let me know if you know how to change this in iCloud? Thanks!!!

I started doing this before unlimited data and emails on phones was a common commodity, on my Samsung Blackjack.
I then continued it due to its convenience. My only counter argument is this:
Even when emails are set to immediately push, I am always notified earlier by this forwarding message (sometimes by several minutes/hours due to the fact that it is not dependent on my being connected to 4G or wifi to receive it.
Also, to contradict snozdop's point that both methods use data and battery, I say this - when I use the forwarding method, the information comes in a pure text format and therefore uses considerably less information than an HTML and CSS rich email, with embedded images and such -also, unlimited text messages aids curve costs.
I will, however, give this method a go. In any case, a solution to my original question would still be greatly appreciated.

I had the developer preview for IOS 6 on my phone, and just got a message telling me that my operating system is no longer active. How do I get my phone activated again?
I had the developer preview installed. Never had to update to the release version of the OS. Now, the preview has expired, and I cannot use my phone because my iTunes reads my OS as being current, but my iPhone cannot active. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?If I Google for Michael Superczynski, first match tells "Michael Superczynski's Profile : Apple Support Communities". It in fact does a lot of work there even if not paid.
And yes we do not have disagreement about "official apple developers". Problem is that Apple screwed our devices because we are "official apple developers" and did effort to stop us getting proper help. I unbricked my ipad and iphone thanks to unofficial help. Thank you who wrote this unofficial help and "no thanks" for apple for ruining my access to my devices. My mistake was assuming that "update" button on my devices works. It did not because it always told "Your device has latest IOS6 installed" until it bricked yesterday.
If Apple does not want to listen us, continue do delete post, blame us installing your software and yes we stop buying your devices and developing for them.

I was in the middle of the iOS 8 update and tried to turn my phone off (yes, I realize this was dumb) But what happened was it tried to reset. Now, my iphone 4s has the connect to itunes screen. I have tried to reset, recover, etc but I keep getting and error -51 message. Any ideas how I can get my phone working again? I am not worried about saving any info just having a phone to use!
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -

It's impossible to say exactly why it went into recovery mode. To get it out, plug it into your computer running iTunes and restore it.

I get double phone numbers, double addresses, but not double notes, when I sync iPhne 4S with Outlook 2007. How can I prevent it from happening?
Yes, I removed iCloud add-on from Outlook; and uninstalled iCloud. I then re-installed, and sync would not work (no tab for sync in Outlook either). There was no improvement.
However, since reading your post, I have just tried signing out of icloud control panel and signing in again....and now all si working as it should. Weird!!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.

No not bothered about sycing apps etc it is all about calendars and maybe notes. IN terms of how its done I just want it the easiest way and preferably so that if an entry is made on one calendar then it populates the other.
