How Do I Get Laptops (Mac+PC) to Share Data & Printer With "Main" Desktop?

My daughters are both home from school for the summer. How do I set it up so we they can use the wifi to share data and use the common printer?
My main computer is an iMac desktop -- running Tiger.
I have the Airport Extreme.
My printer is plugged to the Airport.
I have a laptop that a friend set up for me -- also running Tiger. I just hit print and the documents print. And it has an icon in the dock that when I click it launches so I can see / share / transfer files. But I don't know how he set things up. So ...
Both of my daughters use the wifi to connect to the internet but I would like to take it the next step -- to print and data share.
One daughter has a MacBook -- running Tiger.
Her sister has PC running XP.
I'm sure there is a simple "how to" somewhere in the database but I can't seem to find.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

However, it may still not work, since some scanners are not compatible with the 64-bit PSE 12. Epsons have the most problems, unfortunately.

While uselessSABOTAGE's advice is great, in case of future issues, it would helps us in the future if you would post accurate tech specs of your model iMac.
You info states you have an older IMac PowerMac, but is also says your OS X version is OS X 10.7.2.
This is not possible. OS X 10.7.2 Lion only runs on Intel CPU Macs.
Please, go up to the Apple symbol in the upper top left of OS X main menu bar. Click the symbol. Then click About this Mac. A popup window appears that gives some basic info. Then, click the More Info button and both post your iMacs complete specs by selecting/highlighting all of the info and copy paste this into a reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number. Then update the info you posted in your user profile with some of this new found data for future postings.

unless your MacBook Pro’s GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion, it won’t completely fill the 21:9 monitor without distortion.
(Here’s a hint: no MacBook Pro GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion.)

How can I set my Mac to only share SPECIFIC folders with Win7

It used to work, but, even though I have set only my Public folder and a specific photographs folder to share with a Win7 PC on my home network, the Win7 machine can see the entire Mac HD.
I followed instructions from here:

But if I type Run then enter the ip address of the Mac, all the folders appear. Is there a way to limit them to only the two specific folders?
I've mapped the single folder to a drive, so admittedly, unless you go into "Run", you can't see the other Mac folders and drives, but I'd still like to make sure it can't be done.

How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. The problem is that I burned these CD's myself from music that I added from my personal collection to iTunes. The INFO is ON the CD's (it appears perfectly when I put the CD in my Numark mixer...so I know the info is on the CD), but for some reason, my MAC PRO will NOT read the info on the burned CD when I place the CD into the MAC PRO. The CD was burned on a MAC that I no longer own. But there HAS to be a way to transfer songs from a burned CD with the INFO that is on the CD burned with iTunes.

OT ~ We keep becoming more and more aware of how easy it is to lose one's bearings when it comes to keeping up with info tech. My husband and I are both official members of the geezer set and have been out of the work force for some years. You really do pick up so much just by being in the environment where people are using things to get work done. A couple of old MP3 players, PPC G5, and a vintage Inspiron 3800 that someone didn't want any more is about it. No cell phone, no iPod, no iPad, no home wireless network, no streaming media. Fixed income. So we do with what we can as long as we can. If we could get by without that Intel processor, we'd probably make do with what we've got. On the other hand, we've really wanted a notebook for a very long time and have to admit that needing to upgrade to accomodate my husband's project is pretty much just the "reason" we need. I really mean it when I say that we are beyond appreciative that users take the time to share info and patiently educate those of us who fall into the "slow tech" category.

As long as I know java doesn't have support to work on link-layer, only internet and transport layers. You may write simple native code. On windows, IP Helper functions, like SendARP allow you to pass an IP address and get the hardware address. You store the hardware address on your database/file and later, when that machine is off, you send a frame to the address you stored previous.
