How do I get lion on my laptop from my tower?

My tower will not run mountain lion but has Lion on it.
I purchased an older macbookpro that will run lion and mountain lion but has snow leopard on it that I installed clean to start fresh.
I downloaded the APP for lion a while ago to upgrade my Mac Pro tower..
How do I access the tower to get the app to then download or install to my new laptop?
or will a Migration assitant do this for me.
macbook pro has 10.6.8
Mac Pro Tower has 10.7.5

If you purchased Lion on your tower system, just open the Mac App Store on your "new" MacBook Pro and login with the same user as you use on your tower. If you click on the Purchases tab, you can re-download the Lion installer on the MacBook Pro. Note that this is the same for any software you purchased through the Mac App Store.
When you run the Lion installer, it will delete itself from your loacal drive nesr the end of the process, so if you didn't make a backup of it on the tower before installing it, you would need to re-download it to get it on the notebook anyway.

All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
Now just synch the iPod.

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

One of the most beloved things about the Mac OS is that it REMEMBERS the setting for virtually everything! Clearly, Jobs has been out of action during LION development.
Maybe there's a way (with TERMINAL or finder prefs??) to adjust the "Time To Forget" to infinity (because it's OK for a while and then reverts to defaults again).

You don't (unfortunately) . Best to be patient until 10.7.2 is released (any day now), and which should fix this bug. If that doesn't work, then report it to Apple, but this is a BIG bug that Apple must and will fix soon.
BTW, I suspect you may be right about Steve Jobs influence, but hopefully this is just an exception.

What do you mean get password so no one can make or take drives from laptop? This is confusing as to what your saying or asking?
Passwords if you don't write it down or remember how it was written will be good or bad for you if you forget it. So don't just think it will lock others out - you can also lock yourself out as well. Rather you should keep your laptop in a safe place where you have access to it and no one else and only put password on it when you travel or if another members wants to use it you password block the Admin/Main user but make them a Limited user account that way they have no access to your important files.

What model of Mac? I have a MBP running 10.7.3 and do not have that issue. From the other couple of posts I've seen about it, it seems to be maybe an issue with some iMacs? Have your tried searching the Lion or iMac forums for similar issues, just to see if anyone has hit on why it is happening?

Dov, that is close but not in the status bar but at the bottom of the volder window. Surely , everyone can't have forgotten snow leopard and leopard et al already, where you could could to display at the bottom of all ovened folders to see the status of the the files and hard drive. Yes you can get the info from get info and in the list view. But we use to be able to have a line at the bottom that gave a running total, which to me was very useful as I throughput mondo files to discrete drives thoughout my network for sorting photos by topic to seperate drives.

Make sure you're up to 10.6.8 through Software Updates, and then re-download Lion from the App Store.
Incidentally, many Macs (from 2010 models onwards) have the ability to run Internet Recovery, even if your original hard drive crashed, which will allow you to re-download and install Lion directly from the internet.
But the best way is always to have a local backup of your system drive.
