How do I get LR 5.6 to recognize my D5300 in tethering?

According to the Adobe LR tethering list my camera is supposed to be supported for tethering since ver 5.5. I have tried and tried with zero luck.
Somewhere I saw a post that said to try the manufactures tethering software, well Nikon wants big bucks for their software. One of the reasons I bought this camera was to use it tethered with LR.
I found a freeware program called DigiCamControl and it works great with my D5300 and my old D70s in tethered mode!
I have double checked and there are no software updates for the D5300, I have used three different usb cables, all work with digCamControl, but LR is still saying "no camera connected".
So ADOBE what's the answer to this problem?

Delete the broken links in iTunes then look at your purchased list to redownload.
If this happened because you were deleting files from the iTunes folder in Finder, don't. You have to let iTunes do all the deleting and moving or you will end up with broken links.

I'm working on transferring my music from our home computer to my new laptop and I already got all my music onto the hard drive but now, when I plug it into my MacBook Pro, it doesn't recognize it. There isn't an icon that pops up and nothing happens at all. The blue light on the hard drive that indicates that it knows it is plugged into something comes up but that's about it. Someone told me I might have to "format" it but I don't know what that means and I don't know how to do it. I just want to get my music from the hard drive to my laptop so please help!

If DU cannot see it then the preferences is just an academic exercise.
If this is a USB drive then as mentioned above you may need a powered USB hub since there may not be enough power from the USB to run the drive. What else do you have plugged into the USB ports? If there's some stuff you can unplug it then do it and see if your drive mounts.
What do you mean from a Windows machine? It's a Toshiba hard drive and I put my music on it from my home computer that's a Mac...
Which is all I wanted to know, i.e., whether the drive came from a Winows machine. So it's been formatted and created on a mac. Therefore it should mount on this other mac machine. So it most likely is a power problem.

More information: I have a 3 year old MacBook and had been using "Microsoft for Mac" until last week when I took my MacBook in for some upgrades- including the operating system Lion. I have been unable to use the Word, Excel, etc. programs because they are not supported on the new operating system... and I already used my 30 day trial of iWork when we first purchased the computer. I decided to buy Pages and Numbers through the App Store icon. When I open the Pages and Numbers under my Applications, I can get them to work. However, when I open old documents saved on my computer, they go into the 'old' iWork messages of that my trial has expired. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize that I've purchased Pages and Numbers?

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

How do I get Windows 8 Pro to recognize my optical drive? I put in an installation disk and the OS does not recognize it is there?

I looked for drivers for my superdrive but they don't appear to be available from the manufacturer (Sony). Fortunately I was able to load the contents of the installation disk onto the mac side of my computer and transfer it onto the windows side where I could install it. So I am fine for now but it would be nice to have a functioning optical drive on my windows side if possible.
The superdrive is internal. I downloaded the bootcamp support files from bootcamp assistant right before installing windows so I assume if a driver exists it would have been installed.
Do you know where I could get a Windows 8 driver for an internal OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5690H?

I just installed Photoshop Elements 10 and want to print a photo using my Canon 9000 Mark II printer. When I click "PRINT" it says first I have to install a printer. How do I install this printer so that Elements 10 recognizes it? My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi I do have the Canon Pro 9000 Mark II printer as the default printer.
I just tried a couple of things. I tried printing the photo from the ORGANIZER and it printed fine. Then I tried again to print the same photo from the EDITOR and got this message:
Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer.
So it looks like the ORGANIZER recognizes my Canon printer, and the EDITOR does not!   How can that be?

There have been many reports about this problem with HP printers. I don't recall a report about Canon.There is a tceh note re HP units: http://www.novadevelopment.com/search.html?search=greetingcardfactor y+deluxe&searchButton.x=34&searchButton.y=9 Do check in Control Panel>Devices and Printers to be sure that your printer is the default.You may also want to check on the Canon web site for updated drivers. OMG, I totally did not see the edit button at the top right corner of the Albums window/page.
Selecting that, then selecting the album BIKE brought up the RED button to the left of the album and ta-da, delete.
Sometimes I seek so hard I do not see.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup.

I get a serverlet exception : no sutable driver when the JSP tries to connect using the mm.mysql-2.0.6.1 JDBC driver. I have tried other driver versions (older and newer) to no avail. I've recently done this with iWs 4.1 and mm.mysql 2.0.11 on a Windows 2000 box.
Download and install the mm.mysql software, I put the jar file mm.mysql-2.0.11-bin.jar into C:\mm.mysql
Then on the iWs Management Interface... Servlets, Configure JVM attributes. Go to the end of the ClassPath field and add ";C:/mm.mysql/mm.mysql-2.0.11-bin.jar" and save the change.
Then my JSP code looks like the following:
