How do I get Mail address list (contacts) back in the composition toolbar like it was in Mavericks?

I just upgraded to OS 10.10 on my Mac Mini. In the older versions of Mail there was a 'Contacts' button in the toolbar when composing an email. If selected, you could choose any number of addresses to include in the address fields. It was simple to use, especially by holding down the 'open apple' key to select multiple addresses. I didn't use address groups, because my email lists varied greatly.
It is gone and I can't find how to include it in the toolbar. It seems to have been replaced with a 'plus' sign that opens up the contact list. I have not been able to figure out how to replicate the older process with this new 'plus' option. I've tried the Mail help, but found it lacking.
Please tell me there is a way to bring this feature back so I don't have to switch to another Mail application.

Solved it. You move the reload and stop buttons to the right of the address bar. They have to be in that order. Then when you hit done on the customize windows they become part of the address bar.

When i find a website using bookmarks in Firefox and then I want to look at another site in that same folder, especially in a subfolder, Firefox takes me back to the beginning of the bookmarks menu. With Internet Explorer, it takes me back to the same folder or subfolder I was in. For example, if I was wanting to search newspapers, especially if they are in subfolders, I want to stay in that same place. Firefox loses that place, unlike Internet Explorer, and takes me back to the beginning each time. Sometimes I have several layers of subfolders and it takes time to find that place again each time.

A possibility is to open the Bookmarks Sidebar.
Click the list icon next to the star on the Navigation Toolbar and click "View Bookmarks Sidebar" (Ctrl+B).

How do I get my iphone to go back to the normal screen? I was in the middle of updating my iPhone's software, therefore it was plugged into my computer and synced to my iTunes. However my iTunes alerted me that it needed updating first and so I did. Had to restart my computer, all the while, my iPhone is attached. Once I try to sync my iphone with my itunes, it now pops up with an alert telling me to restore my iphone before syncing. I have already tried restarting my iphone and plugging it back in, and plugging it into the charger, but nothing changes. Everytime I restart the phone, it ends up on the same screen telling me to plug in the usb to itunes. Help please! How do I just get back to a normal screen so I can ultimately update the software on my iphone the correct way!?

Having just bought an iPad 2, I set it up using my wifes AppleID and it accessed her emails.
I have now got my own AppleID and I want to change the Mail application so that it accesses my emails rather than my wifes.
I've seen the instructions in the User Manual to go into SETTINGS then MAIL, but when I am in Settings and tap the Mail,Contacts,Calendars the iPad takes me to the HOME window (as through I'd hit the Home button).
I have a second question, which is when I tap the CONTACTS icon in the Home window, a book (2 pages that are empty) seem to start up and then dissappear as they are growing size. If this makes any sense.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or is the iPad not working correctly ?
I have downloaded and installed what Itunes/Apple/iPad have provided as the latest software.

What you are experiencing is crashing apps when the app closes quickly like that. Way too many users are reporting this same issue since the update to iOS 5. You said that you just got this iPad. Frankly, if it were me, I would set up an appointment at the Apple Store with an Apple Genius - show them what is happening - and politely, but firmly - insist on a new device.
Problems abound with this new release and even though you will be told that the majority of users are not experiencing any issues, that knowledge will not help you resolve your issues. What I'm saying is that I'm convinced that - if you are one of the unlucky minority - and I am one myself - I don't think that there is much that you will be able to do to fix your "magical and revolutionary" device. So if your device is that new - return it to Apple - get a replacement - have them set it up - and do as much as you can while you are there in the store - to make sure that they pulled out a reliable device form their inventory.

My New iphone 5 was synced on my sisters computer and now when i want to use it all of my things are gone, including my pictures and contacts. they have all been replaced with her contacts and pictures. how do i get my things back? i have tried syncing with my computer again but since it was new and i hadnt synced it at all, there is no backup on my computer.

Then anything you had on the phone is gone.
Settings>General>Resets>Erase All Content and Settings.
Set it up as a new device again.

How can I get my address book data back?

After upgrading to OS6, my address book has gone from almost a thousand entries to being totally empty.
This is a *very* big deal for me bc I have no address book application on my PC.
I had always assumed that if iTunes were backing up my iPod, that I would be able to restore from those backups, but now I cannot figure out how to tell iTunes to restore from a backup. I've got a backup... just cannot restore from it.
There's got to be a way.... and I'm probably looking right at it and not seeing it.

It has been a very long time since I used 10.1.5 but Address Book data is not stored in a .plist file.
The Address Book data should be located in an Addresses folder at Home > Library > Addresses.
Locate this folder and with the Address Book application quit, move it back to the proper location.

How do I get mail to stop snapping back to top of inbox after moving a message

My organization provides iPads to some employees to assist them in working remotely. Most people updated their devices to ios7 on the day of release, but I waited so we could compare functionality. I'm glad I did, as there have been a few things that we've had to figure out for our users. However, there is one we can't find the answer for. Most of our users make use of email extensively, and it has for the most part worked great on the iPads. But here is the problem now: a user goes into their inbox which has hundreds of messages, so they decide to clean it up a bit. They scroll down to some of their old messages, and move the message to a folder. That's works fine. However, when the screen goes back to the inbox, it snaps back to the top, rather than going back to the position in their inbox where they last were. Thus they need to scroll down again. When I first saw this, I assumed that it didn't work prior to ios7. However, I checked on my iPad (not on ios7 yet) and the inbox does not snap back to the top, but rather remembers where I last was in the list of messages. Some of users are finding this very annoying, as they are wasting time scrolling through their inbox.
Anyone got a fix for this?

Hi BGreg - Thanks for responding. That option is definitely not checked- which is why this is so mysterious to me.
The other thing that might be a clue is that, as I type an email, drafts of that email show up in my In box. Why multiple versions of the draft show up in my In box (rather than a single version in Drafts folder) is a mystery. It means that I have dozens of versions of long emails (each version reflecting a longer stage of completion) clogging up my In box.

How can I get my hard drive icon back on the desktop

I just erased my hard drive on my Intel MacBook getting ready to give it to my daughter. I had the Snow Leopard install disc in the drive and used Disc Utility to erase the drive. I then installed Snow Leopard and everything went smoothly without a hitch.
Other than -- the icon for the hard drive is not on the desktop! I can open a Finder window and see everything that should be on the drive after an erase and reinstall, but the drive is not there.
How can I get it back?

I am so sorry! This question has been answered more than once. I searched but didn't find it. When I posted this, however, the list of similar questions that pops up next to the message sent me to a simple fix and now all is well.

HT3951 I have an iPod touch and recently had to reset it when it stopped working properly. I finally got everything synced back on it, but the ringtones that I *purchased* won't get back on my iPod. how do I get my already purchased ringtones back on the

They show up in my iTunes on my computer, but they're absent from my 'purchases' in the iTunes store. This angers me greatly. I do not want to buy them again, that's ridiculous. How do I get them to show up again on my iPod?? Thanks in advance.

How do I get my google search bar back in the middle of my page insead of the Blank searh engine that is on my start up page now

Before I did the last upgrade with Firefox, I had the Google search bar in the middle of my start page. Now , after the upgrade, my Google search bar is up on a tool bar at top of the page and the when you type something in the large Firefox box in the middle of the page does nothing even though it has the Search box to the right of it. The restore last session is under that. I just have a large box in the middle of start page that does nothing. I wish that was my Google search box again.

What you are looking at on the web page is a '''search form''', not a search bar. Mozilla changed the default home page to '''about:home''' which is supposed to be faster because it is on your computer, but they piled on a few ornaments. There is a space which is essentially advertising space for Mozilla, or to tell you that you have a previous session available below the search form area.
You can replace that page with a real Google Search page http://www.google.com which like other Google pages has links at the top to other Google applications and tells you if you are logged into Google such as for GMail.

Hi. I was having slowness problems with my Macbook Pro and thought I would re-install Lion but put Snow Leopard back on by mistake. I bought the computer used with Lion on it and don't have access to the USB drive or a username/password to reinstall Lion. Now I can't access Mail or iPhoto since I put Snow Leopard on.
Is there a way to get my Mail and iPhoto working again with Snow Leopard or do I have to "re-upgrade" to Lion?

You can't. When you converted those libraries to Lion's format, you lost the ability to go backwards. Unless you saved a bootable backup./clone or Time Machine backup of your previous SL installation, you're up the proverbial creek w/o a paddle.

My emails are appearing along the top of the page in the tool bar area? how do i get rid of this and back to the regular email page

I opened my Mozilla yesterday and noticed my email page format was different then after a second, I noticed all my emails were now appearing along the top of the page in the tool bar area below "Fine Edit View Go ...etc" I'm not sure what happened. PLEASE help me I'm sure it's probably an easy fix, however I don't know how to fix it :)~ Also they are oldest email first, and since I normally save them for 45 days before deleting, I cant seem to get to the most recent email first. Ugh.

This is what happens when you continually open messages in tabs but never close them. Pretty soon all you have are message tabs showing and you have pushed the Inbox off the screen.
Get in the habit of closing message tabs after you read them.
To get out of your situation now, right click one of the tabs and select Close Other Tabs. Then use the x to close the last one.
