How do I get Mail notifications only for important replies?

Is there a way to set up the notifications from Mail to only pop up for important replies? I know that I can change the mailbox which goes through to the notification center, but how do you make that mailbox? I can't figure out the smart mailbox rules for this. I don't want to get notifications from all mail, just replies to specific messages of my choosing. I don't care that some web store is having a sale, I can check that later. I do want to know that my coworker replied to that message I really needed an answer to right away. So how do I limit it? It can't rely on things like importance flags, since there's no guarantee that the responder will keep the flag. Any ideas?

I will clarify. I would like to select emails that are either:
Replies to recently sent mail. This isn't perfect, since some messages are not important, so I don't need to know right away that there's a reply.
or
Replies to specific messages that I would mark as important within Mail.app, somehow. I don't specifically want to mark the messages with an !important flag, since that would impose on the recipient, and there's no way to guarantee that they will reply with the !important flag intact.
I suppose that I might use Contacts groups and add the "currently important" people to a specific group, then select the messages from people in that group, but that is not exactly optimal, since I'd have to maintain that group manually.

Recently, I started new Internet service with Charter. I set up my new email mail account on my iMac, and everything is working perfectly.....except that Mail checks the Charter email account for new messages ONLY when Mail is first started or the first time I "Synchronize". There's no way to know that messages are waiting, and no other way to download messages.
When I click the "get mail" button, the little wheel thing appears for all the accounts (I still have my ATT accounts active), except the Charter account. When Mail automatically checks for messages, it checks all the accounts except the Charter account.
The messages sent to the Charter account show up right away on the web (looking at my account on Charter's web site). I have no trouble at all sending emails. I have the account set up with IMAP (although, I tried POP, with no change). I have this account set to "Include when automatically checking for messages". I've shut down and restarted multiple times.
I've talked with Charter support, and they've checked their server and all my settings, and everything is OK. I'm inclined to agree it's not an issue on their end. It seems to be Mail.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yup. It was set to "every 5 minutes", and changing that made no difference. Mail completely ignores the charter account when doing the automated mail check and when I click "get mail".
I went to the local Apple store, without my iMac but with screen shots of the email settings, plus settings info from charter, and we set up the account on one of the iMacs there. It worked perfectly. The guy helping me suggested deleteting the account and setting it up again.
I did exactly that, but the behavior is the same. So.....the next thing to do is take the iMac in. (sigh.)

In your SD card, create the following folder structure where you can copy paste your custom ringtones into the different folders. The top level of the SD card will be the SDcard drive.
SDcard drive:/audio/media/ringtones
SDcard drive:/audio/media/notifications
SDcard drive:/audio/media/alarms
You would put your custom ringtones in the ringtones folder and the text message and email notification tones in the notifications folder. Once the files are in there and the phone rescans (might require a reboot) the SD card, the custom files with be available in the selection lists.

FCE prefers JPEG images, and ones that do not require a huge amount of scaling to fit into the video frame. Keep in mind that a video frame is 720x480 (DV-NTSC), 720x576 (DV-PAL), 1280x720 (HD), 1920x1080 (HD), or 1440x1080 (HDV non-square pixels). You don't need much more resolution than that to get a good video image.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail which works fine. Should also work with other web mail e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.

2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next
6. Choose a contact then click Next
7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it into the Sender verification field and click OK.
