How do I get Mail Setting and Contacts to work ?

Having just bought an iPad 2, I set it up using my wifes AppleID and it accessed her emails.
I have now got my own AppleID and I want to change the Mail application so that it accesses my emails rather than my wifes.
I've seen the instructions in the User Manual to go into SETTINGS then MAIL, but when I am in Settings and tap the Mail,Contacts,Calendars the iPad takes me to the HOME window (as through I'd hit the Home button).
I have a second question, which is when I tap the CONTACTS icon in the Home window, a book (2 pages that are empty) seem to start up and then dissappear as they are growing size. If this makes any sense.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or is the iPad not working correctly ?
I have downloaded and installed what Itunes/Apple/iPad have provided as the latest software.

PS The software is 5.0.1 (9A405) - this web site doesn't allow me to change the OS before timing out.

What you are experiencing is crashing apps when the app closes quickly like that. Way too many users are reporting this same issue since the update to iOS 5. You said that you just got this iPad. Frankly, if it were me, I would set up an appointment at the Apple Store with an Apple Genius - show them what is happening - and politely, but firmly - insist on a new device.
Problems abound with this new release and even though you will be told that the majority of users are not experiencing any issues, that knowledge will not help you resolve your issues. What I'm saying is that I'm convinced that - if you are one of the unlucky minority - and I am one myself - I don't think that there is much that you will be able to do to fix your "magical and revolutionary" device. So if your device is that new - return it to Apple - get a replacement - have them set it up - and do as much as you can while you are there in the store - to make sure that they pulled out a reliable device form their inventory.

Sounds like your Mac is not logged into the same iCloud account that your phone is. When Mavericks is installed it prompts you for an AppleID during setup.
Unfortunately and confusingly it then uses that AppleID to help you set up the Apple Store, iCloud, and Messages even though many users do not use the same AppleID for all of those services. This is particularly true of familys that share one AppleID for the "Store" but use separate AppleID's for each users iCloud data.
Therefore, put your iPhone next to your Mac and go to "Settings" > "iCloud". Make sure that the iCloud account listed on your iPhone is the same as the one listed when you go to "System Preferences" > "iCloud" on your Mac. If they match (or not) then click "sign out" on your Mac to disconnect the account. Then, on the Mac (still in the iCloud preference pane), log (back) into the same iCloud account being used on your iPhone and enable the same set of services that are enabled on your iPhone (particularly calendar and contacts).
Then, open the Contacts application on the mac and iCal on the Mac and walk away for a few minutes to allow the data to sync. You may then want to create a test calendar event and change a contact to see if they sync up.
One additional thought is to make sure that your iPhone is set to "Push" for iCloud. That will assure that it's syncing immediately while you are testing this.

You cannot merge iCloud/Apple IDs. You must decide which one ot use, one or the other. Login with your new ID on your computer.
Be aware that content/apps purchased with the old ID will be forever tied to that ID.

Click on sync audio button to sync audio with animations. If you don't have audio in your presentation, then click on edit audio button, it will launch edit audio dialog where you can insert silence durations for each slide and manage the slide duration. Again for syncing the animations timing use sync audio button.

My New iphone 5 was synced on my sisters computer and now when i want to use it all of my things are gone, including my pictures and contacts. they have all been replaced with her contacts and pictures. how do i get my things back? i have tried syncing with my computer again but since it was new and i hadnt synced it at all, there is no backup on my computer.

Then anything you had on the phone is gone.
Settings>General>Resets>Erase All Content and Settings.
Set it up as a new device again.

No backup = No recovery. There are no methods available to non-law enforcement or government agences that can undelete or recove iOS data not backed up.

How do I get outlook calendar and contacts without email?

When I got my Palm Pre, it was my only phone, and I set it up to get my work Outlook email, calendar and contacts. Now I have a BlackBerry for work and I don't want Outlook email on my Pre. But when I tried to delete the Outlook email account, it killed all my contacts and calendar entries. I couldn't get them back on without doing a phone wipe and restore. So now everything is back, working fine. But I'm still inundated with work email on my Pre.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to have Outlook contacts and calendar but not email?

The way that EAS(Exchange Activesync) this is not possible on the device side. Your IT might be able to see if there is a way to do that on the server side.

Changed my Apple ID, but iCloud ID no longer works. How do I get iCloud ID and password to work now?

I had to terminate my old email address due to excessive SPAM and notes from friends being returned as undeliverable.
I set up a new email account at Outlook.com and then changed my Apple Store log-in ID and password (and that works fine). BUT, iClould asked me to sign in this morning, and I could not do so BECAUSE iCloud still had my old Apple ID (which is now defunct). I attempted to just delete my old iCloud account, BUT it insisted that I enter the correct password for the old ID -- which is no longer valid at Apple and does not work.
So, how do I get rid of my old iCloud account and ID so that it stops pestering me on my iPhone and iPad?

Nope. Can't delete the iCloud account on my iOS devices BECAUSE the password for the account to be deleted must be entered. As I said, I already changed my Apple Store account and password. When I did that, the old user ID and old password were rendered invalid. So, one more time. How do I change or delete my iCloud account. I don't use iCloud, BUT it keeps pestering me to sign in. This is an Apple fiasco!

How do I get Mail address list (contacts) back in the composition toolbar like it was in Mavericks?

I just upgraded to OS 10.10 on my Mac Mini. In the older versions of Mail there was a 'Contacts' button in the toolbar when composing an email. If selected, you could choose any number of addresses to include in the address fields. It was simple to use, especially by holding down the 'open apple' key to select multiple addresses. I didn't use address groups, because my email lists varied greatly.
It is gone and I can't find how to include it in the toolbar. It seems to have been replaced with a 'plus' sign that opens up the contact list. I have not been able to figure out how to replicate the older process with this new 'plus' option. I've tried the Mail help, but found it lacking.
Please tell me there is a way to bring this feature back so I don't have to switch to another Mail application.

Solved it. You move the reload and stop buttons to the right of the address bar. They have to be in that order. Then when you hit done on the customize windows they become part of the address bar.

You have a few options
1. If you sync with your computer on a regular basis. Then you connect your iPad to your computer and select the option on your iPad that says "Restore from iTunes" [or Connect to iTunes].
On your computer, select Restore from Backup and select the latest date for that backup (if more than 1 is present). This will restore your iPad's apps, documents, pictures, email accounts, etc back.
2. If you used iCloud to back up your iPad. When you get your new iPad select "Restore from iCloud" and the rest will happen automatically. It may take a few hours so plug it in to the wall outlet and let everything restore.
Here are somethings that won't restore
A. Apps that have been removed from the AppStore for any reason. Even if you paid for it, you cant get it unless you sync with your computer.
B. Music that have been removed from the iTunes Store.
C. Movies, TV Shows that have been removed from iTunes Store
3. If you're starting a FRESH new iPad. You can set up your account. Use the SAME Apple ID as you did on your old iPad. If you don't remember which email address you used then search your emails (on your computer) for iTunes receipts. After you link your Apple ID to your new iPad; you want to go to the AppStore and select Purchased and then download the apps that you want to have on your iPad.

Yesterday I had a problem with a program that I installed. My pc wouldn't open Windows any longer. So I chose F8 > Last known configuration that worked. That fixed the problem but Adobe Flashplayer and Shockwave Player stopped working. I get a black box but the file doesn't open.
Today, I uninstalled Flashplayer and Shockwave Player, downloaded the lastest updated versions and installed them. I checked to make sure that they were installed in Add/Remove Programs. In Firefix > Plugins, I checked that they were both "Always Activate." In IE > Manage Add-Ons, neither are listed. When I clicked on "Find More Toolbars and Extenstions" and chose Adobe Flashplayer, it only opened the page to download the Adobe Flashplayer again.
These are the programs that are installed in my pc now:

So I think I've installed all the programs that I need and I checked for updates.

Backup phone in iTunes . On your phone, Go to Settings, General, reset, Erase All Content and Settings. Restore as new on iTunes . Then restore your phone from the backup in iTunes.

Well i got my new ipod touch for christmas and it is a white one. I have updated it enough so there is no more updates avalable right now and when i go to enter my apple id i select sign in and then next and it starts verifying and then it takes me all the way back to the screen where i have to enter my apple id again.

- Go to Settings>General>Time&Date and make sure it is set to Automatic
- Go to Settings>wifi and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8
