How do I get Messages on my MBP to display older texts?

I am looking to creat a pdf of text message conversation dating back to August. I can briing everything up on my iPhone by repeatedly selecting 'Load Erlier Messages', but on the application ("Messages") I can find no way to do this. Anyone know how to do this or another way to accomplish my objective?
Thnaks in advance!

Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
I was hooked up doing something else yesterday and when I got free the Apple Site was showing me the "we'll be Back" Picture.
I do think that an update is the cause.
At the Launch of Mavericks the file structure that Messages as a Sandboxed app uses was changes.
In Mountain Lion and Messages 7 the Archive of all Saved chats and the iMessages Chat.db were held in ~/Library/Messages
In Mavericks it is ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.ichat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive for the Saved chats
The Chat.db file is still in ~/Library/Messages but it seems to be been recreated afresh for that update.
As iMessages can be picked up about 2 days or so after they are Sent you may find you have managed to get some older ones to "sync" to the Mac.

    How do I get messages to go back to an AIM account? It's only seeing the iPad's Facetime email address and not seeing the old AIM account name that is on my desktop. I am using my iMac using iChat to talk to a newer iMac that doesn't have iChat. We had this working using Messages and Facetime (on the new machine) talking to my existing iChat account. One day last week, when Facetime rang, my kids answered on the iPad. Dang! Now it's all fouled up! The new iMac won't see my AIM account name and shows that I'm offline, because the iPad is off. We were able to call using "most recent call" in Facetime, but now I can't go and control that new iMac remotely to help with some email concerns the user is having. I'm trying to not personalize this too much, but it's grandkids talking to Grandma and Mom and Dad trying to solve new machine hiccups. Normally, I could just go in via iChat and control the other machine and troubleshoot, but I can't do it with Facetime only. My buddy list doesn't see  the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    How do i get messages on my macbook pro. It doesnt come up on the app store

    I must not have been clear. I didn't originally connect it with a USB. I only did that to check to see if it would print at all. It did. I originally set it up as a wireless printer. And my laptop won't connect to it to print.

  • How do I get Messages in my mailboxes forwarded to me that are not left in my base box?

    Hi
    We are a new Fios user.  We have a "base box", Mailbox 1 and Mailbox 2. Messages left in the base box (mailbox 0) get forwarded w/o a problem. How to we get messages left in mailbox 1 or mailbox 2 forwarded to our respective emails. We are a two person household, with one phone number.
    Is there any way to do this? Currently, it seems that only messages left in the Master mailbox (mailbox 0) get forwarded.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks In Advance
    Jay

    Save the top level application and it will then save and keep the linkages to the subvi's. As long as you don't move the subvi's. This is caused when you move the subvi's from the directories that the top level vi is expecting them to be in or if you change the names of the subvi's and don't update the top level vi that is calling them. The other way this is caused is if you delete the subvi and a vi is using it. A good habit to get into is to save all subvi's in one directory under your top level applications directory. Hope this helps.

  • How do you get messages on my ipad

    how do i get messages on my ipad.

    Assuming you're talking about iMessages, what you need to do is go to settings>messages>and turn on iMessages.
    After doing that, assign the account that it recieves iMessages to with your apple id (the same one you use to sign into these boards).
    Now you'll need to be connected to the internet (wifi or 3g) and then begin a message with someone you know has an apple id and is setup to recieve iMessages from it.
    You should be all set to use Messages on your iPad.
    Hope this helps.

    Interesting. Comes with? you didn't have either before? Paragon is commercial and is now v. 10.0, they were the only one keeping updated and was supporting 10.7.4. I would not enable more than one.
    For writing to HFS Paragon has theirs but probably give the nod to MacDrive there.
    I never do an upgrade to a new OS over the old system, I backup (clone) and format the drive with the new OS and do the install so whatever is there I know is clean and also to keep from carrying around leftovers from years and systems past.
    I would assme Paragon is limited. Try their site and knowledge base?

    RETURN(SYSDATE);
    end;
    Put a Field in the Layout having this formula column as source .

  • How do I get Messages to sync with iMessage on my iPhone?

    I have read all of the reviews and seen all of the intro videos for Mountain Lion and where they say that Messages from my MBP (using Mountain Lion) will sync seemlessly with the iMessages on my iPhone.  I have yet to be able to figure out how to make this happen.  I send test Messages to other iPhone users (using iMessage on phone and Messages on MBP) and the recipients are saying that they are getting my message but it opens a new/different conversation each time.  On my end, I see none of the messages from my phone coming over to the computer.
    If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative!

    its supposed to be between OSX and iOS devices only, hence the iMessage name. But i am having the same problem as everybody. I send a message from my phone and it pops up on my sisters phone as the contact info she previously entered into her phone. When i send a message from my iMac, it sends it in a completely new conversation to her phone with my email address, or Apple ID, as the sender.
    What has seemed to have had some effect so far, pull out your iPhone. Go to settings> messages> recieve at... then enter your apple id at the top if it isnt already there. tap caller id and switch it to your email instead of your phone #.
    the problem with that is everyone sees your messages being sent from your email. But it did make the messages i sent from my mac appear on my phone....and the messages i recieved on my phone appear on my mac.
    Its still kinda stupid how this app functions though

  • How do I get Message Digest from Signature?

    When signing some data, first one computes the message digest, then encrypts the message digest with his private key to get the signature. So, if I have the public key, I should be able to take the signature and decrypt it, yielding the original message digest. Correct?
    However, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this using standard JDK functionality (JDK1.3.1). The java.security.Signature object encapsulates the message digest computation and encryption into one operation, and encapsulates the signature verification into an operation; there doesn't seem to be a way to get at the message digest.
    I downloaded the Cryptix library and used the Cipher class to try to decrypt the signature, but kept getting errors. The code and error are as follows. Thanks for any ideas on how to get this to work.
    package misc;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.security.*;
    import xjava.security.*;
    import cryptix.provider.*;
    public class SignatureTest {
    public static void main(String[] args) {

    Security.addProvider(new Cryptix());
    // create data to sign
    byte[] data = new byte[] {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0};
    // get message digest
    MessageDigest md = MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA1");
    byte[] digest = md.digest(data);
    // generate keys
    KeyPairGenerator kpg = KeyPairGenerator.getInstance("RSA");
    KeyPair keyPair = kpg.generateKeyPair();
    PublicKey publicKey = keyPair.getPublic();
    PrivateKey privateKey = keyPair.getPrivate();

    Cipher c = Cipher.getInstance("RSA");
    c.initDecrypt(publicKey);
    byte[] decryptedSignature = c.crypt(signature);
    // message digest obtained earlier should be the same as the decrypted signature

    I learned from someone how to do the decryption myself using BigInteger. The output shows that the decrypted signature is actually the message digest with some padding and other information prepended. See (quick and dirty) code and output below:
