How do I get my Aperture eyedropper tool back?

I'm at my wit's end! I've lost my Aperture eyedropper tools--and my mind!
I installed the Aperture 3 Trial hoping the new version might resolve whatever corruption is causing my "lost eyedropper tool" problem, but alas, the issue persists.
Here's the deal: Sometime after Snow Leopard, my Aperture 2 no longer has any "eyedroppers". This means that I can't use the eyedropper to set a white balance or a custom tint, etc. When I select the eyedropper, I see a brief "flash" in the display (kind of like a very brief ghost loupe), but the eyedropper itself never appears. I only have the arrow tool and clicking on the image does nothing.
I used the eyedropper frequently during the last months, then at some time it just disappeared.
I hoped maybe Aperture 3 would make the problem go away, but alas, it persists in 3 as well as in 2.
I tried trashing several Adjustment presets in user/library/application support/Aperture and the general .plist file in Preferences and restarting. No change.
I've tried running Aperture with just my MacBookPro and no monitor. No change.
I've tried using the sidebar Adujstments panel and not the HUD. No change.
Oh, and my permissions and directory are in good shape.
Obviously I can manually set the white balance, etc, but I sure would like to have the eyedropper back as a starting point!
I've Googled but can't find any help anywhere. Can any of you smart folks please help me?

Thanks, MacDLS. When I login as a new user, I have the eyedropper.
So that suggests a corrupted preference, but I've trashed every preference file I can find and still can't get an eyedropper back when I'm logged into my account.
Arrgh!

It syncs OK with calendar and contacts from Outlook and I can force copying of apps and books but why does it not show music and photos in the iTunes library? help please.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How do I get my "save and quit" back after updating to the latest version of Firefox on a PC?

How do I get my "save and quit" back I do not like having to close all my tabs and loose all that every time I close out of firefox. When I got the latest version of firefox I lost the ability for firefox to save my tabs when I close out of it. I have to go through the process of opening all my tabs and refinding the sites all over again each time I load up firefox. I can not find the place to change the settings to being back the way they were before firefox got the latest version. I want my "save and quit" back.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page. 
Another possibility is to use:

If you are having problems with extensions you can uninstall and reinstall the extension.

I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to, there isn't a user manual section in the iPad's Settings app. If you want an iPad then you can either download it from here : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/
Or if you download the iBooks app then there should be a copy in the ibookstore in it

If you made a backup before you restored it you can restore your iPhone from a backup and your game data should be restored. When you connect your iPhone in iTunes you can right click on it in the sidebar and select restore from backup.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

The same is happening for me. Today I decided to reboot my PC because it was acting up a bit, go figure, and then for some reason at the same time the PC was restarting my macbook froze. I had to do a reboot with the restart button but then all that came up was a gray background and in the middle of the screen was a darker gray folder with a white question mark in the middle of it, blinking. I can't imagine why the restart would've affected my macbook. After finding information on how to fix this, I tried all of the steps that were given about using the mac OS X disk to use the first aid utility to fix it. When using the Disk Utility option whenever I select my hardrive and am in the First Aid tab, the only button I can use is the Verify Disk Permissions. The other three buttons, and namely the most important Repair Disk button, is/are not selectable (grayed out). I then tried resetting the PRAM the way they also said with the command + option + P + R and waited for the second startup sound. After that I gave the Disk Utility a second try, but still nothing. And now if I try to just reinstall the OS completely I can't even select a destination volume on the third step (Select Destination). Apparently this means i'm SOL.

Connect your phone to computer, and sync like this. Check the boxes for the playlists, artists, albums you want to sync. Then click Apply. If you have enough space on your phone, you can choose Entire music library.

If the data is not on your computer, a backup of your computer files or in an iPod backup file o yur computer of a computer backup it is lost.
If you have an iPod backup (go to iTunes's Preferences and click on the Devices tab. The backups will be listed). restore the iPod from backup.

You sign into whatever iCloud or Mail account the calendar was synced to, and enable the Calendar option for those accounts.
