How do I get my apple TV remote to stop controlling my Mac mini?
Just made the switch from PC to Mac. I love our new Macs, however our apple TV remote is driving me up the wall. It keeps controling my Mac mini. Our I tunes goes crazy on the mini when we are trying to put movies on the apple TV. Can anyone help?
Go to Sysem Preferences>Security and Privacy>Privacy>Click and unlock in lower lect and then click on Advanced>Check box that says Disable remote.

This seems to have transpired since the upgrade of my Motorola ARRIS SURFboard modem/router to the duel band 2.4G/5G model. (white) All my apple products work great via WI-fi and I'm getting 58Mbps average. I can stream audio through iTunes. The existing issue is simply no icon to mirror or stream content from my mac-mini to the Apple TV.
First, open System Preferences -> Displays, and make sure that the option "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" is ticked. If it is ticked, untick and tick it. Note that you can also try choosing your Apple TV there next to "AirPlay Mirroring" to check that it shows up correctly.

If you don't want to use a remote with your computer the easiest thing to do is just to turn the IR off. (System Preferences > Security > General, click on the Advanced button in the bottom right corner - If the button is greyed out, click on the lock icon and enter your administrators password)
If you still want to use your computer remote then you must pair your computers remote with the computer AND the Apple TV remote with the Apple TV.
To pair a remote with a device hold down the menu and FF buttons together for six seconds or until you see a chain icon on screen (best take the computer into another room, or turn it off, when you do this) -

Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can't doing anything abouty this, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted. -

EddyOnly one id can be logged in at a time, so if you want to use the other id you'll need to log out of the current one by tapping on it on the right-hand side of Settings > Store and you can then log in with the second account.

I have Iphone 4s, and the phone will activate itself again. This I have verified, but when I shall put this onto my phone, so the phone will not approve the newusername and password. It sounds like your device might be in Activation Lock. Is it asking your to enter in an Apple ID & password, but only showing you the first letter of the email address and then some dots? Example: j•••••@icloud.com?
If so, do you recognize that email? Do you have an Apple ID that fits the same format? If so, then go to www.cloud.com, log in with that Apple ID & password, and see if under Find My iPhone it shows this device. If so, turn off the device, then remove the device from the list. -
