How do i get my application folder out of the trash

I was deleting some files from my computer and accidentally put my applications folder in the trash. Now I can't get it out. I still have my application folder visible in my finder but it doesn't have the Application Folder icon. It has a normal folder icon. All my apps are visible in both the trashed folder and the application folder in my finder, however, when I do a Spotlight search for a specific application, it says it's only location is in the trash.
How do I get my applications back?

Click on the Trash icon which swill open the Trash window. Select the Applications folder and drag it to its original location which is the root directory of your hard drive. You may be asked to authenticate by entering your admin password.

With respect, you actually cannot store folders on the left side of the Dock - only on the right side. I wonder if you're talking about Launchpad, which looks like a silver rocket and shows you your installed applications? It's not actually a shortcut to the Applications folder, though. You can certainly drag Launchpad into the left side of the Dock from the Applications folder.

Well, for one thing it shouldn't be in the DVD slot. You can try turning the computer on it's side and see if you can coax it out, but otherwise you will need to take it in for service because the computer has to be disassembled.

Shut down the machine, turn it on it's side and shake it out. If you still can't get it try another solution on YouTube, there are many shown. We Have no idea which one you tried. If you still can't get it out take the machien into your local Apple Store or AASP and they will help you.

How did it get there? Try right clicking on it and see if that offers a way out. Thinking about it, it may only be an alias. Is there a little squiggle/ arrow in the bottom corner? Check your applications folder.

iMovie 4 trash is a sort of virtual trash in that there isn't really a location where things are put (like your system trash) but instead a representation of how much stuff you cut out of your project. If you click empty (and never due that in iMovie 4 as there is a bug that sometimes trashes your project) what happens is iMovie rewrites all the media files to get rid of the stuff you clipped or deleted.
So there are ways to get your stuff back. One way is to select any clip and pick the restore option which will reset the clip back to the way it was before you made cuts. The downside of this is that you lose all your edits on that clip and have to redo them over if the one you wanted to undo is several edits back.
You might try this instead. Assuming your clips are all off the clip shelf and now down on the timeline, grab all the clips on the timeline, hold down the OPTION key and then drag them all back to the Clip Pane. As you drag up there while holding the OPTION key, you should see a green circle with a ( + ) in it. This means you are making a COPY to the shelf, not moving them. Drop them on the clip shelf. Now select clips on the shelf and do a restore on them from that location. I think this will let you restore the clips to their original size on the shelf while the ones on the timeline will remain untouched. Hopefully you will find what you lost.
In the future, the best way to edit in iM4 to avoid this sort of thing is to import all your clips normally onto the clip shelf on the upper right side. Now rather than dragging them down to the timeline (removing them from the clip shelf) and editing them, OPTION drag them to the timeline which will make a copy to the timeline rather than a move. Don't worry about drive space. When you make copies, they are not real copies (the media files are not duplicated) but instead just additional virtual copies, so you can make as many as you want with very little impact on drive space.
Now you can edit to your heart's content on the timeline and if you ever make a mistake or need to get back a piece of clip you deleted, the full copy remains safe and unedited up and over on the clip shelf. You can always drag down additional copies if you need to get back footage or if you want to use the same footage more than once.

So basically I made an application called TrashEmptier with apple script and what it does is it asks you if you want to empty the trash so you press ok and it empties the trash and then lets the computer go to sleep but it does it even if there isn't anything in the trash but how can i make it so if that they're isn't anything in the trash then it wont try to empty it and go to sleep by the way this app was made with apple script editor.

This is a perfect example of why background apps aren't allowed: Imaging your user forgot that they'd set this running in your application, and then discovered that their battery was running flat in no time, because your application is constantly opening network connections.
Sorry to say that your application design is flawed if you were expecting to be able to run in the background. It's all spelt out clear as day in the iPhone OS programming guide though, so you can't say you weren't warned.

I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and I've read a string of similar questions/answers. I've tried dragging the documents folder from the sidebar in Finder, but it won't drag to the Dock by Trash. Okay, no problem - first, go to the Finder menu here:
click on Preferences, then General, and make sure your hard disks are checked to show on the desktop.
After that, you should see something like this in the upper right corner:
Yours may say Macintosh HD (I renamed mine), but the icon should be there. That is your hard drive icon - that is where everything is.

Ipod touch is in recovery mode. When plugged into PC it has the display indicating that it needs to be connected to iTunes. When it gets connected to iTunes it does appear as a device there. ITunes requires the iPod to be restored, and in the restore process it get error message 1604. When I go through the steps for 1604 I get the same result over and over again. What do I need to do to break this loop and restore my iPod?

If you are still within your 15 day return period. Call Apple they will sent out iDVD at no charge. (There are no realistic substitutes.)
Nicely explain that you may return the computer without iDVD. That usually does the trick. You MUST speak to a senior advisor to get a free copy. The first tier people cannot do it.
