Same problem- the 4 works and the 3g doesnt.I cant even update my OS. Ive went through the troubleshooter and assistant several time to no avail. Please help.

Antz, welcome to the forum.
The error message that you received is due to a failed hard drive.  I suggest running the test again from the BIOS to see if you have the same outcome.

  • How do I get my computer to sync to my iPhone

I have already authorized my computer but I still cannot get my computer to sync to my iPhone or transfer songs from computer to iPhone or vice versa. Everytime I go to transfer a song from my computer (I drag the song to my device) I get a big, red "can't do it" sign. What do I need to do to fix this?? Thanks for your help!

To manually manage music and videos requires having manually manage music and videos selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

  • How may I get my mac to pick up my iPhone?

I disabled the auto feature in Image Capture so iPhoto wouldn't pop open and transfer all images into iPhoto Library since I'm a Lightroom user.  Now I have a video in my iPhone that I want to transfer to my mac.  How?  It wouldn't show up in my photostream via Cloud...

    Hi there dodi7biker,
You should be able to import your photos and videos using Image Capture. Take a look at the article below for more information.
iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
If you don't have iPhoto on your Mac, you can import photos from your device using Image Capture:
Connect the iOS device to your computer. If Image Capture doesn't open, go to your Applications folder and open Image Capture.
Choose where you want to import photos.
    Click Options.
Click the Options tab, if it isn't already selected.
Select "Delete items from camera after downloading."
If you delete photos after you import them, you can reduce the size of your Camera Roll and improve backup and restore times.
If you want to import the photos to additional computers, deselect this option to keep your photos.
    Click OK.
    Click Download All.

  • How do I get my computer to recognize my new iPhone?

I have a new iphone and I would like to transfer my music files etc. to my new phone but when I plug my new phone into my computer, nothing happens.

Thank you.  A little more information, like where the menu is--would make the answer perfect. I did find the answer and did managed to authorize the computer so I saved the app to Itunes.  Happy for the quick response.

  • I had to get my hard drive replaced from Apple, I lost all of my music obviously.  My question is, how can I get all my music off of my iPhone onto iTunes?  Since it's a new hard drive, the iPhone isn't recognizing this as it's home computer.

You will need to use third-party software to transfer music from your phone to the iTunes Library. I recommend Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com.

  • I'm new to Mac. I have an iPhone and a Mac Mini.  My original iTunes was on a Windows computer that crashed.  So, all of my iTunes Music and Movies are gone.  How do I get the movies and music from my iPhone to the new Mac Mini?

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help.  Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

  • I bought mountain lion for my macbook pro and I'm trying to install it and it says there was an error and I need to boot up but I don't have any other start up disks to boot up with. Are there any suggestions of how I could get my computer started?

Hold the Option key down and restart. Select one of the drives that comes up and hit the Return key.

  • I downloaded the new Pages and Numbers through my app store but when I open my old documents, it still tells me my 30 day trial is over. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize the new applications?

More information: I have a 3 year old MacBook and had been using "Microsoft for Mac" until last week when I took my MacBook in for some upgrades- including the operating system Lion. I have been unable to use the Word, Excel, etc. programs because they are not supported on the new operating system... and I already used my 30 day trial of iWork when we first purchased the computer. I decided to buy Pages and Numbers through the App Store icon. When I open the Pages and Numbers under my Applications, I can get them to work. However, when I open old documents saved on my computer, they go into the 'old' iWork messages of that my trial has expired. How do I get the computer to automatically recognize that I've purchased Pages and Numbers?

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

  • My ipods are no longer recognized after I installed my Iphone I have 2 ipods that I have music on and still want to use them so how do I get the computer to recognize the ipods again?

I recently got an Iphone and after I installed it on my computer my 2 ipods are no longer able to sync to the computer how do I get the computer to recognize the 2 different ipods so I can still use them?

Since you already had two iPod before getting the iPhone, what exactly did you need to "install" to use the iPhone?  Doesn't it use to the same iTunes installation you already used with the iPods?
So, I guess my question is, what changed on the computer when you started using the iPhone?
What happens now when you connect the iPod?  Is the iPod still seen in Windows device manager?

  • I have a new computer. i signed into itunes but my music isn't there.  How do i get all my music off my old iphone to the new computer

I have a new computer. i signed into itunes but my music isn't there.  How do i get all my music off my old iphone to the new computer so i can put all the music on my new one.
The guy at att told me that icloud would sync everything i had in my notes, calendar, and text messages to my new phone, but it only synced some of my notes, none of my messages, or calendar info.

Your music will only be where you put it.  It will not magically appear on a new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
If for some reason you cannot do this, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an iphone:  Without syncing - File>Transfer Purchases
You can also redownload itunes purchases from icloud in some countires:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • How can i get the itunes off of my old iphone if the files on my computer have been erased?

How can i get the itunes off of my old iphone if the files on my computer have been erased?

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • How do I get the computer to automatically eject a drive before it enters Sleep?"

I have an external eSATA drive connected via PCI Express card to my Mac Pro.  When I wake the computer, I get a complaint about not correctly ejecting the disk.  How can I get the computer to eject the drive before entering Sleep?  There are two partitions on the drive, so the answer will need to include "Eject All."  Perhaps an Apple Script could tell the drive to eject, but how to automatically run it?  If I could schedule it to run five or ten minutes before the scheduled Sleep, that should work.
The reason for the external drive is to back up my TiVo recordings...WARNING...If you have a DVR Expander connected to your TiVo and EITHER fails, you lose everything!  I now transfer all my recordings from my TiVos to this drive so I won't lose recordings in the future.  Plus I can take the drive with me and connect it via a Thunderbolt wire and watch them on my laptop.
