How do I get my contacts and calender info from iphone 4 to ipad2 ?

I have just bought an iPad 2 and want to somehow sync it with my iPhone 4 so that it gets all the calender and contact data stored on my iPhone. Help please.

You can make one or more calendars of one iphone sharable and the other user will be able to have those sharable calanders synced. Unfortunately, you can't do that with contacts. But you could go to the computer account used by you or your husband, perform a backup of the contacts (see the file menu), copy the file to the other account used to sync the other iphone, and restore. It's a manual process that has to be performed periodically, but doable.
The other method is for each of you to use the same iCloud ID and have both iphones synced to be identical. But I don't recommend that otherwise you'll each get the same text messages and who knows what else.

Transfering contacts and calendar info from iPhone to PC

I inadvertently deleted my contacts and calendar from my Outlook. The info is still on my iPhone. Is there a way to transfer that info from my iPhone to Outlook. For some reason, it did not work when I synced the two.

Create at least one contact and calendar entry in Outlook (make something up). Make sure that Contacts and Calendars are checked to sync (on the Info tab in iTunes with the iPhone connected). You should see a prompt to merge or replace data - choose MERGE. That will transfer your contacts from the phone to Outlook. If that doesn't work, reset your sync history (iTunes > Edit menu > Devices tab) then try syncing again.

iTunes on tmy new computer shows none of my data and I fear if I sync my iPod with the computer all will be deleted on the iPod.

Just move your iTunes library to you new computer. You can transfer iTunes purchases to you new computer from your iPod by:

Thanks for replying. I had to do this process in order to get ICloud activated so I don't have it there. I do have an external backup of the Itunes library, but it sounds like that would also restore the restriction password that I don't know.
Why would ICloud be different (if I had backed up there?) Does it only save data?
And It sounds like I need to keep my contacts in another source .... such as? ... No, I don't use email much and my contacts arec the phone numbers I've captured in my phone. After I have them backed up to ICloud, do I also need to make sure they are somewhere else to where I won't run into losing them again?

I used to use a Palm Tungsten T3. I no longer have it but until recently I still used the Palm Desktop. My computer "died" and I was able to copy all the Palm files of of it but now I have no idea how to get the contact and calendar(less important than contacts) info in some form I can use. I do not currently have any Palm software installed on my computer. I have Microsoft Windows XP on my computer now and use Outlook or Outlook Express. Does anyone have any advice for me. Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty.

Yes, I sync my music to my PC on iTunes. Your instructions are exactly what I've read you are suppose to do but when I go to the info tab, there isn't a choice to sync from outlook.
Under Sync Contacts it says;
Your contacts are being synced with your iPad over the air from iCloud. Over the air sync settings can be changed on your iPad.

If you already have an iCloud account, on the Mac, go to Contacts Menu Bar/Contacts/Preferences/Accounts/Select your iCloud account: Select "Enable this Account.
Tha same basic idea applies to the Contacts Preferences on the iPad and iPhone
