How do I get my download back

I purchased Apple Lion O/S from the Mac store in February of 2012. Yesterday, I had to do a total reformat of my hard drive so I needed to re download OS Lion. I went to the app store found my account and saw OS Lion in my purchase history. I clicked the download button but nothing appeared to happen. I clicked again, nothing, I clicked again and again and the download button is now a dark color with nothing on it. Can I get this download to work or am I out the 30 bucks?

1. It's a big file 4+GB, so it may be quietly downloading in the background.
2. It was only $20.
3. You should be able to reinstall Mt Lion using OS X Recovery.

The backup that itunes performs when syncing does NOT include apps,music,videos,etc.
EVERYTHING that is on your iphone should be on your computer. You should be syncing them regularly. Everything should also be included in your regular backup of your computer.

Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but did you check your downloads folder? Or the Applications folder? Some Apps will go to your Applications folder others will stay in Downloads until you run the .dmg file.

Buy the songs that your friend put on the iPod that you liked. They had no right to give you the copyrighted music when they sold you the device.

Apple's policy on sales of digital content is that all sales are final. If however you wish to appeal to Apple, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.

How do I get my money back if I tried buying a song and I put my iPod touch on sleep mode, I turned it back on and it had already charged me and the song didn't download and as a result, I didn't have enough money to get the song.

Have you tried syncing the iPhone to your computer and restoring from the backup to see if you can get your other songs back? If you purchased the new album with your Apple ID, you should be able to download it to your computer to sync.
