How do I get my HTML5 audio tag to work in Firefox 7.0.1, currently it doesn't even display the alternate text when the player cannot play.

This is my implementation of the audio tag.
<pre><nowiki><div class="music_player" oncontextmenu="return false;">
<audio autoplay="autoplay" controls="controls" preload="auto">
<source src="sample.ogg" />
<source src="sample.mp3" />
<span id="audio_error">This website has an audio sample, but cannot play using this browser.
</span>
</audio>
</div></nowiki></pre>

Make sure that the server sends the ogg file with a supported MIME type.

  • How do I select the entire text when the focus is moved to one TextBox?

    How do I select the entire text when the focus is moved to one TextBox?
    There are three TextBoxes.  I use <TextBox TabIndex="1"/> to set the order they are selected.  When I enter one specific TextBox, I would like to have the entire text selected ... one key stroke removes all of the text in that TextBox.
    bhs67

    I do it the following way:
    1.  Override the OnStartup for the application.  Use the following code: (VB.NET)
    EventManager.RegisterClassHandler(GetType(TextBox), TextBox.GotFocusEvent, New RoutedEventHandler(AddressOf TextBox_GotFocus))
    2.  In the event handler use this code (again VB.NET)
    Private Sub TextBox_GotFocus(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RoutedEventArgs)
    _theTextBox = CType(sender, TextBox)
    If setFocusTimer IsNot Nothing Then
    RemoveHandler setFocusTimer.Tick, AddressOf setFocusTimer_Tick
    End If
    setFocusTimer = New DispatcherTimer
    setFocusTimer.Interval = TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(10)
    AddHandler setFocusTimer.Tick, AddressOf setFocusTimer_Tick
    setFocusTimer.Start()
    End Sub
    Private Sub setFocusTimer_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
    setFocusTimer.Stop()
    _theTextBox.SelectAll()
    End Sub
    What this does is register a handler for every textbox in your application.  This will execute when the GotFocus event is raised and will allow you to do whatever (in this case select all) you want.  A great way of handling things at the application
    level.

    I found 2 formats,supported by IE11: .m4a and .3ga
    <audio src="http://az3749.narod.ru/anna/soundE.3ga" type="audio/m4a" controls/>

  • How to get Audio html5 tag to work in Firefox

    Hi guys, I'm having a really annoying problem, in which HTML5 audio tags either do not work at all in Firefox; they have a huge delay before playing, or they play (but with many errors and inconsistencies).
    I'm using Firefox 35.0
    I'm using ONLY .ogg files
    Here is an example of my code:
    <pre><nowiki><audio autoplay="autoplay" controls="controls" id="audio" style="display:none;">
    <source src="Music.ogg"
    type='audio/ogg'>
    </audio>
    <script>
    myAudio=document.getElementById('audio');
    myAudio.addEventListener('canplaythrough', function() {
    this.currentTime = 1;
    this.play();
    </script></nowiki></pre>
    The code is working on both Internet Explorer and Chrome.
    When I remove the display:none attribute, the audio player is visible.

    Hi there, I appreciate the response. Fortunately, I just figured out what the cause of the problem was!
    For some reason, the Javascript I was using broke the sound in Firefox. Without the script part, the sound works fine.
    This creates a couple of new functionality problems, but they don't have anything to do with Firefox.
    Thanks for helping me, hopefully I'll be able to find some way to keep the functionality but have it work in FF.

  • Play() method not implemented HTML5 audio  tag?

    Hello,
    I am trying to play a sound using the HTML5 audio-tag and Adobe Air SDK 2.5.
    This is part of the HTML5 code:
        <audio preload="auto" id="myTone">
            <source src="test.mp3">
            <source src="test.ogg">
        </audio>
    And from javascript I do:
        a = document.getElementById("myTone");
        a.play();
    Unfortunately, that doesn't work. I get this error message in the console window:
        TypeError: Result of expression 'a.play' [undefined] is not a function.
    However, when I run this code directly in Firefox 3.6.11 on my Windows XP machine, it works.
    Dito in Safari 3.2.1 on my Mac OS 10.5.6 computer.
    So apparantly, not all methods and events of the audio-tag are implemented in the Adobe AIR environment.
    Is this by design? Or is it a bug?
    I know there is another way to play sounds (I read Jeff Swartz' article - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/ajax/quickstart/articles/sound_in_html.html). But I think a pure HTML5 solution would be cleaner.
    Who can provide more info about this issue?
    Many thanks.
    Jay

    Hi there,
    same issue here.
    A workaround, far from perfect, is to request the base64 encoded data using an Ajax call
    and set the src attribute of the audio element to 'data:audio/mpeg;base64,' + base64encodedaudio.

    how can I get netflix streaming audio, the video is fine but the audio coming through is from the TV(dish)

    It's exactly as I stated. Whenever I try to drag these kinds of loops (ESX24 / software instrument loops? the ones marked in green with the white music note next to them) from the loop browser into the timeline a message comes up saying Audio Not Found for that loop.  And a new track is created automatically when loops are dragged into the timeline, so I'm not creating some other random / synth instrument track so I'm not sure  what the deal is... But perhaps I'll try creating a software instrument track first and then drag the loop into that track and see what happens - maybe there's something with the default settings that automatically creates audio tracks whenever loops are imported?

    It is also possible to chat One Way if the other person does not have a Mic: replies will have to be typed in a Text chat.
    Summary
    For any sort of sound to a PC using AIM, (Talk in PC or Audio in iChat) the Mac will need a camera. The other person can have a Mic and then live chats with sound both ways and Pictures (Video) the other.
    NOTE: At This Time It Is NOT Possible to Audio (sound only) between Mac & PC with AIM & iChat
    Trillian Basic can Audio. Trillian Pro can Video and has a bigger picture and can do Full Screen.
    Another explanation of the set up can be found Here

  • How do I get a 3ga audio file to play on iphone 4s?

    How do I get a 3ga audio file to play on iphone
    4s?

    You don't need to download an App.
    My understanding is that you simply have to change the file extension from .3ga to.mp3 (on each file) and then they should play.
    That said, it works on a Macbook Pro - I've just tried it.
    Not sure about iOS though.
    Please reply if it works for you.

  • How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files?

    Using PSE9 on 2 PCs. Files are stored locally on each, and updates synced via Windows Mesh.
    Use case issue:
    1) Add tag to jpg on PC1 using PSE.
    2) Execute PSE "write to file" command before closing app
    3) Confirm on PC2 via Windows Explorer that tag info is updated on local file
    4) Open PSE on PC2, bur additional tag info is not recognized by PSE.
    5) Tried to re-import test files in PSE using "Get Files" function, but tag data was still not read by PSE.
    6) Manually added new tag to tag list, reloaded PSE, but new tag info still not read on file.
    7) Ran Optimize and Repair catalog functions, but problem persisits.
    How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files without rebuilding the entire catalog every time I edit a file?

    Simple : you can't.
    Why ? Because the tags are stored in the database of the catalog. When you 'write' metadata to files, you can see it does work. The new tags are written to the files. But the new tags are ignored by the catalog in the second computer. You'd have to delete the file entry from the catalog and reimport it, supposing the tag is already in the tag list. Otherwise the tag would appear in the 'imported tags' category.
    The Organizer is not meant to be a multi-user database.
    What you can do to share media and catalogs between two computers having the same Elements version is to store the media files and the catalog on an external drive you can plug to each computer when needed. Note that the drives should be recognized with the same drive letter.

  • How do you get 24/96 audio from macbook air?

    How do you get 24/96 audio out from macbook air?

    If your media source is limited to a DVD disk, then a DVD reader will somehow have to be employed to read that disk. Apple sells a Superdrive specifically designed for use with the MBA, but I've found that many others will work almost equally as well.
    Some DVD disks already contain a digital file suitable for play, when directly copied off the disk. However, for more traditional DVD movies, it will require an application to perform what is called "ripping", to convert and copy the DVD's contents to a file that can be moved and played off the disk. I have used an application called "Handbrake" with reasonable success.
    After ripping, you may need another application to convert it to a format specific to the media player you may choose to eventually use. e.g. to convert into a file that iTunes may import.

  • How do I get ppt animation and timings to work in Presenter?

    How do I get ppt animatins and timings to work in Presenter? Same ppt presentation different times each time I use the Publish function.

    Hi,
    Click on sync audio button to sync audio with animations. If you don't have audio in your presentation, then click on edit audio button, it will launch edit audio dialog where you can insert silence durations for each slide and manage the slide duration. Again for syncing the animations  timing use sync audio button.
    Thanks,
