How do i set up my iCloud account on our new Mac My family have set up their Sky, gMail, & hot mails accounts really easily yet mine just woun't work keep hetting a message unable to conect to outgoing mail server.
why are 3rd party accounts so easy to set up and my apple one keeps failing Help...

Thanks - its 1 month old (max), the OSX version is 10.8.4 we already have iCloud set up on my iPhone 4S & this iMac.
I try to tick mail in the cloud menu but get an error message telling me "iCloud mail couldn't be enabled from the iCloud Preference Pane. Open mail and add iCloud account from Mail preferences"
when I do that i get the message " the icloud IMAP server p15-imap.mail.me.com is not responding. Try checking the network conection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server may be temorarily unavailable. If you continue you may not be able to recieve messgaes.
we thought the incoming server name looked odd (p15- imap.mail.me.com) but its greyed out and can't be edited even though other 3rd party accounts can.
really don't want to have to ditch the iCloud email account as i use it the most & loads of friends contact me on it
But been trying with my Dad all afternoon to fix it and are both stumped.
Any help would be really appreciated

You seem to be asking two different questions. You get an iCloud email account by going to Settings>iCloud on your iPod Touch, signing in with your Apple ID to create your iCloud account, then turning Mail to On.
If the songs you are talking about were purchased from the iTunes store using someone else's Apple ID and your computer is not authorized for this ID, they will be removed from your iPod when you sync. They can only be synced back from the iTunes library that is authorized for the ID they were purchased with.

I cannot help but note that it is absolutely absurd to not allow the deletion of an email account in an ISP or Cloud environment.

How do I fully delete an email account from my Apple Mail app on my iMac?
When I go here: Mail > Preferences Mail > Accounts
I got the message that I needed to delete it from my Internet Accounts.
When I go here: System Preferences > Internet Accounts > select the account >
I cannot select or click the minus sign on the bottom left to delete the account because it does not appear in the list.
Yet the email account still shows up in my email logs with errors that it cannot connect.
The email account no longer appears in the left column where all my email accounts are in Apple Mail as I have deleted that domain and no longer use it, so the email was deleted at the server level. However, again, the email account still shows up in my email logs with errors that it cannot connect.
This is driving me bananas!

If you haven't already done so, please quit and relaunch Mail. See whether the account goes away.

There is no HP support for this old printer. I have tried to connect via ethernet (thru ethernet router), and it does not show up in printer preferences. The printer worked fine on system 9x but when I went to my new macs with system X no luck. This is a great B&W printer that prints at 18 x 24". I would like to keep it and not junk it, but its been sitting on my desk unused for some time now. Any thoughts or JUNK IT! Thanks, R.T.

Does anyone at Apple have help for this sort of question - I too have an old printer (HP LaserJet 5MP) that I would like to keep using on my Mac. (Mac OSX 10.6.8).
I got it working by getting a USB cord that connects to it - but every once in a while it just stops working for weeks. The mac 'sees' it and it sends the data because the printer lights start blinking but then it just doesn't do anything. Is there no one who can tell me (and raterada) how to get some new life into these old printers. I would rather not add this (and a new toner cart) to the landfill just yet. . .

You can't change the icloud email address without creating a new iCloud account. You can, however, create an alias address with the correct spelling. It will operate just as your current address does, receiving email in your curren iCloud inbox. Just don't ever delete the alias or you won't be able to reactivate it.
