How do i get my imported bookmarks to the bookmarks toolbar
when i downloaded firefox, the imported favorites link from explorer are not showing up on the firefox bookmarks toolbar. they are in the 'from explorer' file, but not placed where they originally were while using explorer. basically, i would like to get all the favorite links from the explorer toolbar and place them the same way in firefox. i am a computer novice and cant figure out how to do this. please advise. thanks!

My computer crashed and I lost everything. It was the only computer with Sync on it and I cannot get my recovery key: how can I get all my bookmarks from that Sync account? I have a ton of bookmarks/saved password and the only way to get on sync is create a new recovery key and lose all of my information.
Is there any way to get my stuff back without creating a new recovery key and losing all my old stuff?It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.

I accidentally deleted an Application on my iphone 5 and with it lost important files. How do i get back these files. The last iphone backup sync was after this so I cant even access an older back up as I cannot find them. How do I get back my Lost files.
On your iMac launch iTunes and at the top next to the Apple symbol click iTunes > Preferences > Devices and tell me what you see. You last sync should be there showing only a device name. If you have an older backup it will be there as well the difference is it will be the device name with a date and time stamp. Sync and backups are two different things and there is a chance iTunes made a backup the first time you hooked up your iPhone 5.

I used to go into my application data folder in windows explorer to get to my Firefox bookmarks so that I can back them up. In Windows 7 access to this folder is denied. I looked in the users folder and in program files as well. I can't find my Mozilla files anywhere. I know you can backup your bookmarks directly from Firefox but I don't know what a json file is and I'm more comfortable with having a readable (i.e. open-able) bookmarks file. How do I get to my bookmarks in Windows 7?

For info, you want a readable bookmarks file, but the bookmarks file used by Firefox (places.sqlite) is not readable in a text editor, it is an sqlite database file. It is located inside the profile folder - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles -
How do you get Groups to work on the IPAD. They show in address book but only the first name is used when entering.
When you select the bookmark on the upper left, you should be able to see multiple groups.
For the groups page, select the bookmark on the upper right to see the individual entries. -
I took a 15 minute video clip on my phone and now I can't import it into iphoto. I've been able to import clips to iphoto in the past. How do I fix this? How can I get it imported onto my MacBook and ultimately iMovie?
Maybe try one of the WiFi transfer Apps? There are several to choose from. I use Photosynch quite often to send photos and videos between my computer(s), my iPhone, and iPad.

In the 3.x versions of Firefox there was an area after your last bookmark in the bookmark toolbar where you you could click and access all your bookmarks in the toolbar if the window size was not big enough to show them all.
Now in 4.o all that shows are the bookmarks in the toolbar that fit in the window size. So if I have my browser window set to 900 pixels I can only see the bookmarks in the toolbar that fit in that area and I have no way of getting access to the ones that are not showing unless I make my window bigger. But even then my window can only get so large because of my monitor size at which point I can not access any of the other sites in the bookmark toolbar.
Am I missing something or is there a glitch in the 4.0 version?Hi
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately there is no chevron sign after the last bookmark nor after the "Bookmarks" text that if clicked takes me to all my regular bookmarks and oddly does not even list my Bookmarks Toolbar folder. If I want to get into my bookmarks toolbar folder I have to the top menu and click "Bookmarks" next to the "History" link and then navigate to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder. Something odd is definitely going on and it's getting annoying.

How do I get my printer to match the colours of the image as I see it on screen? My HP Office Jet Pro L7680 printer tends to print my images with a bias towards red compared to the image I am seeing on screen with Lightroom 5 using a Mac with Retina 5 screen. Would appreciate any expertise on how to calibrate the printer to the screen
You have two options. The first method costs nothing but is not as accurate and the second means buying hardware and investing some time. The fastest way to get things closer is to download the color profile from the printer manufactures site for the printer and paper combination you are using. Install it on you Mac and relaunch LR. This is best when the paper and printer are both from the same company; in your case, HP. If the paper is not made by HP, you can often find profiles for your paper/printer by going to the paper maker's web site and doing a search for the appropriate profile.
The other alternative is to purchase a piece of hardware such as the ColorMonki which can be used to not only profile your monitor for color balance but also you printer/paper as well as your camera. When all of your devices agree on what color 118,118,118 means, you get the same color from capture to print but this is also an expensive option and there is a lot of time involved in building your own color profiles. The results however, are much more accurate.
Once you have a color profile installed, the next step involves doing soft proofing. Once you have your image looking the way you want it to in LR, open it in the soft proof option. This will show you how your print will look using the color profile for the paper/printer you are using. During the process, you will be shown the print on your screen which may look off. Use the small triangle in the upper-right corner of the histogram to turn on the out-of-gamut warning. This will highlight any parts of your image which contain colors your printer can't handle. Use the rendering intent options to decide how you want these colors handled (relative or perceptual). Check them both and use the one you like best. You can also make additional changes at this point if required before you generate the JPG image. Make sure to save it as a max quality JPG using the sRGP profile. How do I get my tabs back into the main window?
I've had a problem with an add-on displaying a small extra window every time I open a session for some months now: I know you're supposed to try disabling and re-enabling every add-on you've got to find out which one is responsible, but this is a work computer and with all the add-ons I have, it would take too long, so I've just closed the extra window every time and got on with my work. However, for some reason today my forty-odd tabs have all opened in the small extra window, which has no tab bar, navigation bar or menu button. How do I get my tabs back into the main window of Firefox, or alternatively get that window to behave like a normal Firefox window so I can use it?
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Another thing to try is renaming it with a .htm or .html extension.
If that doesn't work either, do you have any other files from your old system? In particular, if you have your old places.sqlite file, you could use that to overwrite your new places.sqlite (bookmarks+history) file. -
Light room five keeps crashing my computer, uninstalled it downloaded a fresh copy it works fine. How do I get my pictures out of the old copy to the new one?
Apparently you have two catalogs now, one from each installation. If you did importing, tagging and editing during the first installation, that will all be in the first catalog. Find the first catalog - it is a file with the suffix .lrcat and the default place for LR to put it is usually your Pictures folder - and (with LR closed) double-click on it. LR will launch with catalog #1 active.

Firefox doesn't have an "export" feature built into it for password data.

If you copied the two files that are used for storing passwords from the old computer to back them up, just copy those 2 files into the Profile folder on the new computer to restore them.

my iphone has calendar history for 10 years. my icloud only shows about 6-8 weeks back. how can i get icloud to show all the calendar events in the past that are on iphone?
I encountered a similar problem when finally (and with much regret) I was obliged to migrate my MobileMe to iCloud last month.
Many years of iCal history vanished without trace during this automated transition by Apple and iCloud then kindly synched the resulting vacuum back to iCal on my Mac.
Fortunately, iCloud wasn’t able to decimate iCal on my other Macs because (1) they are still running Snow and (2) I had switched them off as a precaution. Good job I did.
My solution was to export my iCal data on one of those other Macs to a backup file – then I imported that backup file into my Lion-updated Mac’s iCal. That restored all the iCloud-deleted iCal data back on to my Mac and this was promptly synched automatically to my Calendar on iCloud. So now it’s all there and showing.
Perhaps you could do something similar? In the meantime, be very careful not to let iCloud’s amnesia get synched to your iPhone (and other devices).
Experience has taught me never to trust an “upgrade” until it is proven to be working correctly and always to keep in reserve another Mac with a properly-functioning system and all synching to it switched off...
