How do I get my ipad to recognise my pdf attachments as pdfs?
My ipad does not always recognise a pdf file as as incoming mail attachment, so I cannot always open the pdf in another app.
Although the attachment shows as a paperclip in the mail header, sometimes the content of the attachment is displayed in the body on the email. When this happens I don't get the small square window at the top right corner of the screen where you can select another app to open the pdf.
How do I get my ipad to recognise my pdf attachments as pdfs and not show the content in the body of the mail message?
This is from page 44 of the iPad User Manual:
Open a meeting invitation or attachment: Tap the item. If the attachment can be used by multiple apps, touch and hold to choose an app that works with the file.
Based on this, I suggest trying this:
Touch and hold an area of the PDF file that displays in the body in your email. Do you get the behavior described in the manual above?

Don't know if you ever got this figured out but here is the answer...
I just spent the last two days on this and have finally sorted it out. It actually isn't that hard to do but for some reason, no one has consolidated the information in one place!
First and foremost, make sure that you have all the latest and greatest firmware updates for your printer, your computer and your mobile devices.
Next, you need to connect your printer to your network via an ethernet cable, this is the only way to get in to the printer softare to configure it for your wireless network.
Navigate the printer menus on the keypad to Reports>Config Report and print this report. It will provide you with the IP adress and IPv4 address for the printer.
With the printer connected to your network and powered on, point your browser to the IP address of the printer. If this doen't work (it didn't for me) use the IPv4 address.
This will open the configuration panel for the printer and will let you configure the wireless for the printer so that it can join your wireless network. You will see various tabs across the top. Select network. Then along the left you will see wireless. Choose that. Now you should see a list of wireless networks available including your very own home network. Choose that one, enter your password and hit apply.
Disconnect the ethernet cable and you should be ready to Airprint from all devices. This worked for me, I can't imagine it won't work for all...then again... -

Help. My old @us.army.mil email address was terminated by the army. I used that address to register my first apple id account on my iPad. I can't remember my original Apple ID number and if I ask to reset my password, Apple sends the reset link to my old non-working email address. I have a new gmail address and a new Apple ID number associated with that address. How do I get my iPad to use my new gmail address and new apple ID number? Remember, I can't log out of my old account because I can't remember the password. Amd Apple will only reset the password by sending a link to my old, non functioning army email account. After doing the new software update on my phone, computer, and Ipad my Ipad has been linked directly to my phone. I have changed all setting so that it wont share of communicate but in the update process all saved data was removed from my IPAD I went back to Itunes and after the update to that all the backed up information was gone and the cloud didnt have any backed up information in it from the issues they had with the cloud in August. How do I get my Ipad to disconnect from my phone that it wont recieve text messages or anything else associated with my phone?
You are probably going to have to sign out of/turn off Messages on the phone and the iPad and then start all over again and enable messages on the phone first so that the number is accessible again to use on the iPad in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at. You need to be able to select your phone number in there.

But when I am buying songs on itunes, the ipad asks me for my password using MY OWN apple ID and everything works fine. HOW DO I GET MY IPAD TO REQUEST MY PASSWORD USING MY OWN apple ID WHEN I AM BUYING OR UPDATING APPS?
The apps you are trying to update were purchased with (and therfore permanently linked to) someone elses Apple ID. If you do not know the password then you need to delete the app and redownload/purchase it with your Apple ID.

I have the newest version of the iPad and can not see it under devices in my iTunes account on my PC. I can however see my iPod touch under devices and sync it. How can I get my iPad to show under devices and sync as well? I have also tried may suggestions on the apple support site and none have worked. Any suggestions are welcome.

If you haven't already done so then you need to download and install iTunes on your computer and add your music to it (File > Add To Library) and you should then be able to connect your iPad to your computer and sync your music to it.

How do I get my iPad and IPhone synced where if I delete an email off one it is deleted off the other device? I can get all the Apps and music from one to the other but why won't the emails I delete off one not delete off the other? Is there anyway where I can make this happen?
As James says, make sure that you are using the IMAP servers for your email. You will need to check the help pages for your email provider to get the correct settings in all your devices. POP really doesn't fit the needs of todays mutiple access, always on internet, so you are better off moving to IMAP.

Yes, that's correct, it won't affect your account or your devices in any way.
Use the delete account button in the iCloud settings.
Then enter her iCloud details in the new screen that appears and log in. She should then be returned to the screen above but with her Apple ID at the top, enable the services she wishes to use and then tap the storage & backup option and ensure that iCloud backup is turned on.
