How do I get my Iphone to show up in Itunes when I plug it into my computer?

Hello,
I am having trouble getting my Iphone to connect with my computer.  I just authorized my computer to my account, but my phone won't show up in itunes.  Does anybody know how to get it to connect with itunes?
Thanks

Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the recognition troubles?

Check your System Profiler to see if your computer is recognizing them. You may need to reset the computers SMC.

  • Why doesnt my iphone 4 show up on itunes when i connect it to the computer?

when i connect my phone to my laptop it shows up that is found a discoverable device but doesnt show up in my itunes and its starting to bug me... i just want to update my playlist... why does it not work? what do i need to do?

    Hello nataligrinman,
It sounds like you are unable to turn on your iPhone, and when you plug it into the computer you see the Apple symbol appear then disappear quickly. I would start by resetting your iPhone with this process:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not correct the issue, I would next put the device into recover mode, and restore it with iTunes:

  • My iPhone 4s isn't coming up on iTunes when I plug it into my computer even though it's being recognised by the computer because a noise is being made when I plug it in!! How do I fix it??

I've just been given a perectly working iPhone 4s which I have set up without having to plug it into a computer. The computer is recognising that something has been plugged in becasue of the noise it's emitting however it's also not coming up in 'My Computer'. How do I connect my iPhone to my iTunes as I have music to put onto it before the beginning of school?? I have uninstalled iTunes and re-installed it again but it's not having any affect and I have the most up to date iOS on the phone and on the iTunes.

Yes, to an extent.  But not to the extent that it is actually viewable under 'My Computer'.

  • How do i get my iphone to show up in itunes

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and tried everything else, but my iPhone will not show up in iTunes. How do I fix this?

--If your on a desktop then plug it into the back of the computer, otherwise just try other ports
    --Try other cords
--May need to update driver software. You can google that depending on what version of windows you have.
--Otherwise here is an article to go through. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

  • HT4061 Help! My iphone displays a cord to an itunes icon and I can't get it to go away...even when I plug it into my computer.  My computer is not recognizing it as a device.

Help!  My iPhone 4 displays a cord to an itunes icon and I can't get it to go away...even when plugged into my computer.  My computer doesn't recognize it as a device.  How can I just cancel all this and get my phone back to normal?

You might want to try performing a hard reset of your device; this will restart it and generally clear out any errors, it will not erase any data on your device.
Press and hold both the home button and the lock button (the button on the top right of the iPhone) for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT4557 how the bloody **** do i get music on my ipad it is there when i plug it into my computer but when i log iout it is gone

i have an ipad 6.1.3 whatever and can not put music on it u can do it on my phone but had to upgrade tp use my ipad how do i do it?

Should e the same way. Start iTunes on the computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in iTunes, select Music in the row of tabs, select to sync all music or select the playlists you want. Then click on Apply or Sync. Music should then end up copied to iPad. Isn't that how you get it on your iPhone?

  • My iphone does not charge or show up as a device in itunes when i plug it into my computer

I've never had a problem connecting my phone to the computer, but in the last two or so weeks I have been unable to sync or charge my iphone 4 through my MacBook Pro (OSX). The phone does not charge and it does not show up in the "devices" section of itunes. The cord charges through an AC adaptor with no problems and my USB ports all work fine. I have done everything suggested so far, including deleting podcasts, restarting my computer, restarting the phone, uninstalling and reinstalling itunes... I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be very welcome!

I removed the AMDS as part of the instructions for completely removing itunes. Nothing changed unfortunately. I don't understand why it is happening!
I have already checked for lint, etc as you suggested, but don't have another USB cable on me at the moment. I'll be returning home tomorrow so will try then, but I would have thought the cable was fine as it still charges the phone through an AC adaptor fine. Thanks for the suggestions!

  • My iphone isn't showing up in itunes when I plug it into my laptop.

Even after I plug my phone in with the cable it doesn't show up in the top corner like it's supposed to, so I can't download any of my new music. I have the iPhone 5s, and I have the newest version of Itunes so it's not that it's outdated.
