Hey jel177!
It seems like you may need to turn off your iTunes in the Cloud features and download or sync the songs manually to your phone. Here is a link that can help you adjust those settings:

Then, you can use this link to find your purchases and download them to your phone:

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years.  After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems.  In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that!  I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience.  I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

How can I get my iphone to stop losing the signal?

Thanks for the tip.  If only I could find somewhere where I did not lose the signal.
I am based in the United Kingdom. The carrier is Orange.
I lose the signal inside buildings and outside of buildings.  It happens at work and at home.  It happens in Centarl London in the open air and inside.  It happens in small towns.. It happens in the countryside.  It happens in motor cars.  It happens in airports.  It happens when the battery is fully charged, when it is half charged and when it's low on charge.  It happens using the phone, when reading messages and when using the internet.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I get my iPhone to stop messing around

OOkay people how do I get my iPhone to stop auto correcting to "ducking" ... You know what I'm trying to type there? Turning off auto correct doesn't work... It still auto corrects just that one word even though auto correct is disabeled.  Apple seems determined to censor my freedom of speech but it's not right or funny. How can I make it stop?

Well thats not true because I constantly have to dismiss the change every single time. Even when I disable auto correct. Why does it still try to change when I disable auto corrext?? Because they are trying to censor me. Again, it doesn't learn when I try to dismiss it, every. Single. Time.
No one is trying to censor you. Apple has no interest in what Anglo-Saxon words you chose to use. I can tell you, from personal experience, it does learn. I can tell you, it's a good thing I don't have reason to type the word "ducking" very much as it would be annoying to have to correct it every time.

  • 4s bricked after trying new update, stuck with black screen with apple logo how can i fix this

    Update bricked my 4s
phone , stuck with black screen with apple logo ..
    how can I fix this

    Greetings r1042,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your iPhone is not booting up past the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in a black screen with a cable and the iTunes logo in it. Extra bonus: error 1656.

So, I got this problem with the black screen with a cable and the iTunes logo in it. I tried restoring it, but in the middle of the process, the iPhone turns off (and it is still connected to the computer) and I get an error message (1656). I already tryed the solution that I have to find the "hosts" file, but there's no "gs.apple.com" line to be deleted.
    What do I do?

I tried to do this at least 4 times! the iTunes is running the restore but at the end he's failed.. he say there is an error ! I think number -1.

  • Iphone 5 got wet last week.  Been in rice until today.  It turned on and worked fine, I could see a water spot in the middle but still worked fine, 3 hours in it shut off to black screen with apple logo.  Any ideas what to do?

Iphone 5 got wet last week.  Been in rice until today.  It turned on and worked fine, I could see a water spot in the middle but still worked fine, 3 hours in it shut down to the black screen with apple logo.  Screen stays up for 10 seconds ago and then goes black and then black screen with apple logo comes back.  Any ideas what to do?

At this point it's likely that the iPhone has suffered damage and you'll have to take or send it to Apple for replacement. If you have AppleCare+ coverage on the iPhone, the cost will be US $49. Otherwise the cost will be US $229.
    Regards.

  • How can I get my iPhone to stop promting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I've checked settings for iTunes

How can I get my iPhone 6 to stop prompting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I have verified in settings that my acct is listed in itunes & App Store, as well as icloud. i can download new apps fine. Have shut down phone and re-powered, have tried plugging into my iMac while signed into my iTunes acct. Can't figure out what to do next?

Is the comp a synced device to your apple ID and approved as an active device for this synchronization?
Just cloud the sync once, activate the comp to your apple I'd in iTunes, ensure all software is up to date, turn on home sharing between the devices and you can reinstall the apps from the apple id purchase history via download.
You basically cleaned out the canonical data apple uses to validate all that, which was backup data. Like iOS devices have the purchased option on the App Store now, syncing the devices via the home sharing and properly activating them will give your comp the purchased cloud and free up 10gs of space on the precious solid states smaller drives.
    Hope that helps...
If you need to know the menu to find this info, let me know. But the info is easily accessible in the help menu.

  • How do I get my iPhone to stop erasing my duplicate songs?

How do I get my iphone4s to stop deleting duplicate tracks?

  • IPhone OS 2.0 at Black Screen with Apple Logo, Apps crash and not run

Apple Support: Do not delete this. I am complying with your requests. According to your T&C, I must state my problems in question form to ask the community or your teams for help in a constructive way. I believe my original post was only playfully negative, but since I am complying now, I would expect that you do not delete this, otherwise you're simplying just trying to put spin on a buggy release. PLEASE HELP. I have not heard back from Feedback, and phone support continually says to RESTORE the phone, which only solves these problems for a few hours.
    1) My iPhone OS 2.0 is very slow, even with a virgin restore with no apps or synchronized content.
    2) My iPhone OS 2.0 reboots at random times.
    3) My PURCHASED applications crash randomly, under unreproducible conditions.
    4) Free applications crash randomly.
    5) My iPhone OS 2.0 will not boot after an irregular interval of reboots, showing only the black screen with the apple logo. Letting this sit for 8 hours simply drains the battery until it goes pitch black. POWER+DOWN_ARROW and an iTunes restore is the only way to recover. This process takes hours to complete.
I have gone several days without a working phone while away from the iTunes at home to restore my contacts and other data vital to the operation of my business, not to mention a phone that actually works to make and receive calls.
As stated in the previous post, I'm a loyal Apple customer, and have spent considerable time evangelizing the brand, and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars by purchasing Apple laptops instead of Dell.
Can you please tell me how to solve this? If there is no firmware problem, please give me a real solution to fix this. I am not the only one with this problem.
    Thank you in advance,
    Kevin

Many of us have this problem. I've had it several times now.
The only way to fix it, is to restore the iPhone.
I know it seems like it wont boot, or wont do anything, but it will... just do this.
Start Itunes. Turn off the iPhone, now put it in the dock or plug it into the USB cable, WHILE holding the top button on the phone down. Keep holding it down. It will then show a connect cable icon on the phone. It should show up in iTunes at this point. Proceed to restore the phone per screen instructions.
Once its back up and booting and working etc...
MAKE SURE... you DO NOT... install any application or delete any application on your iphone. IF you dare do so.... MAKE ABSOLUTELY certain you do not do ANYTHING at the same time. That means NEVER DL an app from itunes store on your phone, and while it is installing, ... avoid clicking on anything, touching the phone, starting a different app, going back to the itunes store...
In other words... If you try to multitask... it causes some weird bug.

  • Iphone iOS8 update black screen with itunes logo

okay Im really freaking out, because I have an iphone 5 and I connected my iPhone to my laptop (not macbook) so it took about 3 hours to get ready to update (I copied my iphone in my computer before update), so when it finished, my phone went to the white screen with the apple icon, so I closed my laptop and reopened to see if it was okay and the update was still going. But when I got to iTunes ones again it said error with the update and now my iPhone is in "recovery mode". And the only thing in my phone is a black screen with the Itunes logo an  the charger meaning to plug it in. Please somone help me Im freaking out and I dont know what to do!!!

    Hey elisacalzadilla,
If your iPhone is already in recovery mode, you may need to simply continue with restoring the phone using the information in the following article:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • HT4528 My phone will not come on...whether plugged in or not I get a black screen with apple logo only

My phone will not come on..whether plugged in or not..I get a black screen with the apple logo.  It has not been damaged

How long has the Apple logo been displayed for?
I deleted an app that was using an enormous amount of space (15GB) and when I reset the device it took 45 mins for the Apple logo to go away and for my device to start.    I guess it took a look time to reclaim all of that memory back.

  • How do you get your iPhone to stop keeping records your movements?

According to a recent article in Gizmodo (http://tinyurl.com/3dcy2jw) records of iPhone and iPad users' movements have been stored on their phone and computer since June 2010, and could be easily accessed if your device were stolen.
    From the article:
"The privacy startle, apparently enabled by this summer's iOS 4 release, was discovered by two security researchers, one of whom claims he was an Apple employee for five years. They're equally puzzled and disturbed by the location collection: "By passively logging your location without your permission, Apple have made it possible for anyone from a jealous spouse to a private investigator to get a detailed picture of your movements," they explain. All it would take to crack the information out of your iOS device is an easy jailbreak. On your computer, the information can be opened as easily as JPEG using the mapping software that the security experts have made for download."
The Guardian has also written a story about this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/apr/20/iphone-tracking-prompts-privacy -fears
How can this "feature" be disabled? It is an invasion of privacy and poses serious security concerns.

Actually you agreed to let Apple track your location history. From the iTunes Terms and conditions, I offer this extract:
Apple and our partners and licensees may collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your Apple computer or device. This location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you and is used by Apple and our partners and licensees to provide and improve location-based products and services. For example, we may share geographic location with application providers when you opt in to their location services.
So not only does your iPhone and the unencrypted (by default) backup have this information, so does Apple and partners. It's not GPS accurate and not a result of using location services. It comes from cell tower and WiFi triangulation. You would have to go into Airplane mode to protect your location privacy.
