How do I get my iphone to use the same apple ID and password as my laptop
I have just bought an iphone 4s , Tmobile contract, and cannot get it toaccept my apple id and password that I use for my laptop. Do the apple IDs and paswords have to be different for each device?
If not how to Igethem to be the same?
go to settings>itunes and app store - if you are signed in then tap the id and sign out - try to sign back in and see if it gives you a particular error

As TJBUSMC1973 states, and as I said earlier, the Find My iPhone app has nothing to do with your use of Find My iPhone. The app is just used if necessary to locate another iOS device from that particular iOS device. To see if both of your devices are being located in Find My iPhone, log into www.icloud.com and select Find My iPhone. Both of the devices should appear. If they do not, then go into whichever of the devices does not appear and make sure that Find My iPhone is activated. It has to be activated through iCloud, and for both to show on the same map, they both have to have the same iCloud ID.

I recently restored my iphone. When attempting to set it back up it will not accept my password. Yet when i log into the apple store i have no problem logging in using the same apple id and password. How do i get the iphone to recognize my apple id and password?

Sometime ago I added my friends E mail (yyyyy) to the main Apple ID (xxxx) as for using his E mail account (to separate our e mail accounts, and it's working ok) but now when I try to create a new apple ID whith the same friend's e mail (yyyyyy) it says that his mail (yyyyy) is already an apple ID when the Apple ID is really my E mail (xxxxx)... any clue?
ThanksI believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Do you not use the same Apple ID and password as you would use for your IPHONE, EMAIL and ITUNES?Where/how are you trying to replace it and what happens ? You should be able to log out of the currently logged in account for the stores by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and you should then be able to log in with a different account, and for icloud email via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars to delete and then add an account.

My friend bought the Lion upgrade for her MacBook. She would also like to upgrade her desktop Mac to Lion which is currently running Leopard. I cannot load updates any of my apps.- Apps are prementently tied to the account that purchased them and you have to sign into that account to update the apps. If you have apps that need updating from more than one account you need to update them one at a time util the remainig apps were purchased from one account.

iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2) My wife and I were able to log into iCloud when we bought and activated the phones. In the last 2 days, we have not been able to do so. Have reset the password 3 times. Can get into iTunes and iCloud via MacBook Pro. Every attempt to log in via iPhone we get a message saying the password is incorrect. I noticed someone else had a similar problem about 1 hour ago. Apple support's answer did not fix the problem for them.

You have run into Activation Lock. Without the requested AppleID and password,
you will not be able to activate the iPhone. Return it for a refund if you can.

I used to be able to track my daughter's iphone 4S on my iphone 4S, we use the same apple id and password. We both downloaded the new IO7 and I can not track her phone any longer. I do this as she is just starting to drive and I like to make sure she has reached her destination. Any help? Thanks.

My husband and I share an Itunes account so use the same email address and password. Our iphones are now connected and we get each other's messages and share each other's contacts. How can we stop this happening?
A couple of different approached:
Create a second AppleID for one of you that includes the email address and phone number you wish to use for messaging, but do not apply it to the iTunes and app store (just keep the current one). My wife and I do this and it works quite well. Also allows for easier syncing of Contacts , notes etc. using icloud if you wish to do that.
Add additional emails/phone numbers to the existing account and change the Send/Receive settings for Messages. this will not fix the Contcts isues for you however. -

What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!
