How do I get my iPod to play on my Bose Speaker?

This problem will require a genius, so please read the entire situation before responding. All of a sudden my Bose Speaker, which used to work fine with my iPod, will no longer charge or play my iPod. The speaker plays and charges other iPods with no problem, so there is nothing wrong with the speaker. The iPod plays with no problem on other devices, so there is nothing wrong with the iPod. For some reason, my particular iPod and my particular Bose speaker are no longer compatible with one another. I have returned my iPod to factory settings, to no effect. Bose has generaously replaced the speaker, but the new one doesn't work either.

I reckon that nothing wrong with your Bose Sound Dock, very likely a bad contact between your particular iPod and the Bose's dock.
What is the model of your iPod? You are talking about other iPods, are they same model? If the iPods are different models, then bear in mind that due to the size of each iPod models are different, some of them may not fit into the Bose's dock without using a fit adapter.

How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)
So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist.  That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

  • How can I get my iPod to play noise when it says my headphones are in but they arnt and I can't get it to play music with out my headphones in ?

How can I get my sound to play my iPod says my headphones are in all the time and they arnt so it will only play sound when my headphones are in

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem..
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • How can I get my Ipod to play on someone elses computer?

How can I get my Ipod classic to play on someone elses computer.  Not my home computer where my library is stored?

The simplest -- and safest way for both sides -- is to use the same sort of cable you use for the AUX port on your car -- an min-jack to min-jack cable. Plug it into the headphone plug on your iPod, and connect it to the Line-In on the friends computer. This eliminates any risk of your iPod being detected by iTunes on your friends computer and getting corrupted, and also elimates any risk of malware attempting to corrupt the iPod. If you are worried about battery, simply connect your iPod to an external charger when you do this.
When I'm at work, I never connect my iPod to my work computer. I just use an external speaker. The iPod is only connected to its primary iTunes, and then I only update that iTunes when it is absolutely necessary.

If it started after updating to iOS 5 it may be that the dock is not compatible with iOS 5.  Somebody else recently posted with the same problem after iOS 5.

  • How do I get an iPod to play indefinitely?

How do I get music to play indefinitely in my iPod? I shuffle a playlist and it plays until every song has played once, then it stops. I need it to shuffle indefinitely until I choose to stop it, is there any way to do that with a playlist? Or a complete library?

That might be, but the problem with a iPod Shuffle is that there is no way to plug it into a power source when it is playing. So while it might shuffle the songs indefinitely, it will only play as long as there is battery life. You would think there would be a setting or flag in an iPod to allow a playlist to play/shuffle indefinitely?
I wonder how many elevators and long hallways and phone systems there are there in the world that play continuous music and could benefit from this feature? No wonder there is still Muzak around!

  • How do you get your Ipod to play on your Creative Gigiworks S750?

I have an Ipod and I was wondering how you get it to play off of your speakers?

    tuggy,
Just as ronin_sx has mention, the M-Port only works with M-Port compatible player such as the Creative Nomad Muvo NX MP3 player so ipod won't work.

Reset the iPod. To do this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • How can I get my iPod to play through the 30 pin connector?

I bought an 30 pin to 8 pin adapter. I plugged it into my iPod and plugged it into the sound system (new Yamaha MCR -049). The scene says "unknown iPod" and will not play music (it comtinues to play through the iPod's speaker) and it does not indicate that the iPod is charging. What am I doing wrong?

Is a lightning adapter the same as 8 pin ? The manufacurer says this stereo says this only works with iPod 5 (mine is) and the only way to connect is an adapter. I bought an after market brand instead of Apple branded.  I think I have a bad adapter. I'll buy a 39 pin to lightning adapter. I think that's the only way I can figure put if the dock works.

  • How can I get my stereo to play music videos from my Ipod Nano?  It comes up with the message "This device not supported".  Strangely my Iphone IS recognised.  The stereo, Ipod, and Iphone are less than 4 months old. Any suggestions welcome!

How do I get my Ipod to play music videos through my theatre system?  I keep getting the message "This device not supported".  My theatre system WILL recognise my Iphone however.  The theatre system, Ipod, and Iphone are all less than 4 months old.  Any suggestions welcome!

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

  • How do i get my iPod vid to play videos continuously and not one by one plz

Hi, can someone please advise how do i get the iPod to play the videos one after the other like when playing songs. I have tried going into video settings but it does not help. I did manage to get it on cont. play once last week sometime but i think this was a fluke and i cant remember what i did. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks D

If you create a video playlist in iTunes, add a few
videos to it then transfer that to your iPod, then
when you access the video playlist on your iPod it
should play all the videos one after the other.
Hi, I think i solved it i just pressed the reset button and went back into mus vid playlist and it worked bu i was scared it might of reset the ipod back to factory sttage but it never. Thanks anyway will try your way next time.

  • I made 2 playlists on Itunes and put them on my Ipod.  How do I get the songs to play consecutively and not keep playing the same song over and over again???

I'm a new Zumba instructor and have to come up with playlists for my routines.  I made 2 playlists on ITunes and put them on my Ipod.  Everytime I want to play it, only one song from the list plays over and over.  The other songs do not.  How do I get the songs to play the way I have them set up??

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you got them before.

    Hi TheGuru146,
It sounds like the iPod isn't restoring correctly. Try putting the it into Disk Mode manually and then restoring the iPod again as described in the article linked below.
    Putting iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
    iPod nano (7th generation)
Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it has a charge.
Reset the device by pressing the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until the display shows the Apple logo. This should take about eight seconds.
When the Apple logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk Mode.
