  • How can i get my ipod touch 4th gen out of recovery mode if my home button isn't working?

i am not interested in fixing my home button myself. the ipod is 2.5 years old and the home button seems to be pushed in too far so it will not work and i  was updating an app when it went into recovery mode. i have tried all of the tutorials on YouTube and none have worked. i tried pressing the home and sleep buttons until the apple logo appeared, it did but less than a second later, it went back to the "connect to itunes" screen. please help

The only way to get an iPod out of recovery mode is to connect it to iTunes and restoring to a previous back up.  If there is no back up the data will be lost.  Hope this helps!

  • How do I get my Ipod Touch 4th Gen. 32 GB to charge?

I am having troubles with charging my iPod touch.  It was charging just about 2 days ago, then now it wont work.  My battery is almost dead.  I have tried plugging it into the wall and into my computer...neither worked.  Can anyone help me with this?

    Try here:

Also look at the dock connector in the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bend or corroded contacts, broke/missing part of plastic.

  • I can't seem to get my iPod touch (4th Gen) to play photo slideshows or videos through my TV.  Is this a design flaw?  Or is it me?  My old iPod used to do it no problem, but now I can't even find any video out options in the settings.

  • How do i fix my ipod touch 4th gen when the apple logo appears and then a whit screen comes up and turns off and it wont charge and it wont connect to itunes

My ipod touch 4th gen is a having a few problems with charging and turning on, my ipod comes up with the  extremely low on power symbol and then i put it into my computer and it comes up with the charging symbol then it goes to the apple logo and then onto a blank white screen and then turns off and repeats that process i have tried various things including resetting my ipod trying to connect it to itunes but it doesnt come up with anything so i cant reset it on itunes and have tried various charging devices.

Tried it but it won't do anything all it does is make the screen do a very small flash of white and then continues doing the same thing appearing with apple logo then the white screen and off and keeps repeating that
I'm guessing the white small flash means it's been reset when I hold the 2 buttons down,
    Thanks for suggesting.

    hi there
i updated my ipod touch 4th gen to ios 6.1  and when i came back to it, it was stuck on apple/start up screen which it has now spent several days on, i have tried to put it into recovery mode and when i plug into my computer, neither itunes or my computer sence that it is there so i can restore it. what should i do

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Honestly--how easy to scrach new iPod Touch 4th GEN?

There arent many screen protectors out for the new ipod touch 4th. So I was wondering honestly...how scratch proof is the screen?
Im not clumsy or anything. Im debating to just leave it as is.
    Thanks

My iPod 2G got super scratched up, and I take great care not to put it in my pockets with coins, other devices, etc. My 4G screen has not scratched at all, so for some weird reason I think it is more scratch resistent. HOWEVER....I would strongly suggest a case for it. My 4G iPod recently got dropped from about 2 and a half feet and shattered the entire lower left portion of the screen. Luckily, APPLE RETAIL STORES FREAKING ROCK, and they are replacing it for free...I just have to wait for the new one to come in. A case is highly recommended. I had bought mine online, but it did not come in prior to the drop.

  • Is there anything I can do myself to get my ipod touch 4th gen to charge again?

I've had this 4th gen ipod touch for at least a year, maybe 2 years tops, now. It's practically my life line because it almost never leaves my hands/person. I use this every single day, especially to keep in contact with a close friend. My ipod was working and charging fine yesterday. Last night I had taken a shower and it did get wet when I had touched it with my hands still wet. First mistake on my part. I wiped it off with a towel and connected it to my laptop after to synch it. It synched at first but then my computer couldn't find the ipod though it was connected and I didn't think much of it because my computer sometimes doesn't find thigns right away. After, I went to put it to charge before bed and unplugged it after a few minutes. At the time, it was charging somewhat. I don't remember if I had a problem keeping it charging or not. I think it was fine. This morning I went to charge my battery before I head out and it did not charge. At first I thought it was my USB cable because this had happened to me once before and to fix the problem then, I just bought a new USB cable. I tried different ones I had in my house besides my usual one but it didn't charge with any of them. In fact, the ipod only recognized it was connected for maybe a few flickering secs before it would disconnect though it was plugged it. I couldn't get it to keep connection recognition long enough to possibly back up my ipod (because it has not been backed up since 3 days ago). As I said, my ipod is practically my life line so when the battery was depleting after some use and I wasn't getting it to charge no matter what I did, I paid a visit to the Apple store. They had no open reservations for today so I have to wait until tomorrow but they glanced at it real quick after I explained it won't charge or synch and said it looks like possible liquid corrosion. Is there anyway I can attempt to get it to charge again without having to go back to the Apple store? I'd rather not have to go back unless it's my last option. Also, if worse comes to worse and I need to have Apple take care of it for me (with the understanding liquid damage is not in the warranty) what will happen exactly? Will my data be salvaged in anyway or would I have some losses?

    - Try on another computer

  • How do I get my iPod touch 3G to update to IOS 5.

I  currently have IOS 4.2.1 on my iPod touch 3G.  I am running version 10 of iTunes. When I connect the iPod and  check for updates, I am told my software is the latest version.  Will IOS 5 run on iPod touch 3G and if so, how do I get this update?
    Thanks
    Jim McColl

I think you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to 4.2.1. If yours is a 8 or 16 GB it is a 2G. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods. A 32 GB can be either. To identify yours:

  • How do I get my iPod Touch 5.1 to restore iOS 8?

My iPod 5.1 Touch failed to upgrade today from iOS 8 to iOS 8.1. I received an error message during the upgrade installation attempt and was told to restore to iOS 8. It is now in restore mode. It downloads the iOS 8 restore file iPod5,1_8.0_12A365_Restore.ipsw but fails to install it. After processing the download, a RESTORE button reappears in iTunes on my HP laptop. When I press that, the cycle repeat. The iOS 8 restore file is again downloaded, a message appears reading that the file is being processed, and a restore button again appears. I can't get the iPod to restore. I am waiting for an Apple Support callback tomorrow, but would appreciate hearing your advice. I have tried pressing the power + home button simultaneously to try to reset the iPod. When I first upgraded from iOS 7.4 to iOS 8.0 the entire process took about 3 hours, but went without a hitch. I backed up the iPod on both iCloud and locally on my laptop before trying to upgrade to iOS 8.1, and I hope that once I get it to restore to 8.0, I will be able to sync all of my settings and apps. Has anyone else had this same issue? Thank you very much for your help. Cheers.

Try deleting the existing iOS 8 file. It is located here
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/08/ipsw-file-location-mac-and-windows/
    Then try again.
Next try DFU mode and then restore
