How do I get my iWork's docs to iCloud?

Question

Can anyone tell me what I am missing?  I have the latest Iworks apps on my imac and macbook pro.  I think that I have enabled everything in icloud.  I can not see how to store documents in  the cloud or access them between systems.

After reading Apple’s description of iCloud, it wasn’t explicitly clear to me if Mac-to-Mac syncing of iWork ‘09 documents would work without an iOS device in the chain. Using these steps I was able to jump start the syncing of iWork documents between my two Macs (an iMac and a MacBook Pro, both running OS X 10.7.3):
1. On each Mac, I enabled iCloud and manually created the necessary ~/Library/Mobile Documents folder and its iWork subfolders described in an October 2011 Macworld article.
2. On each Mac, I then logged into icloud.com/iwork and selected an application window. I dragged an iWork document -- any document of the right file type -- from each Mac directly into the appropriate iWork application window. This pushed the file from iCloud into the corresponding empty Documents subfolder on the Mac.
3. Although the Macs were now set up for syncing, new iWork files saved into a Documents subfolder were not automatically pushed to the other machine (unless the iCloud-enabled user account on the other machine was also logged in). I learned I could force a sync at any time by opening any document inside the Documents subfolder, and the entire subfolder was then synced.
4. Once an iWork document was synced between the two Macs, edits to the file were pushed automatically when the document was opened on the other machine.
As expected, with no iOS device in the chain, I could not download iWork documents from icloud.com/iwork. For easy access to the Documents subfolders, I added the otherwise invisible Mobile Documents folder to the Finder window sidebar.
