How do I get my Mac to recognize external drive filled with 5 projects, created at Apple Store?

How do I get my Mac to recognize external drive filled with 5 projects, created at Apple Store? I created 6 hrs worth of projects on computer in apple store with my external. came home my computer did not recognize it at all. went back to apple, they said oh click the news reel bottom left that will do it, came back home and nope....not recognizing it, in fact it says no events exist on this disc. I want to get the 5 projects and put up on vimeo tonight. ugh.

Hi Tom,
I'm so impressed with how you help everyone solve their problems. I will do my best here, but my husband will be home soon and knows how this large external is formatted.
How late do you all work there? I'm on east coast. Is the screen shot you wanted? I opened up external and
this is what I see.
Drive is connected to usb in back of computer. N

How do I get the iPad to recognize a number beginning with 0 without dropping the 0.  And how do I get the iPad to recognize a 4 (birth year) or 5 (zip code) digit number with adding a comma delineating it to thousands?

    Hi,
Because the iPad requires more power than from a normal USB port can supply therefore you can not charge an iPad using ONE USB port on a laptop/PC.  Please try this free utility, many HP users say it works:

    Hi SouthMountainSound,
It sounds like the tracks may be missing from your iTunes library. When tracks in iTunes display a it means the file cannot be located; it may have been moved or deleted. If it cannot be located, this may cause the issue of not being copied to your iPod. For this issue, we will need to refer to the following article:

Alternatively, if your media was downloaded from the iTunes Store, you may be able to download it again free of charge:

  • How do I get my Mac version of Elements 12 work with my epson printer/scanner

    HELP
How do I get my Mac version of Elements 12 to work with my Epson XP-510 in scanner mode using the get photo's function.
It does not show the scanner being available even though the scanner works with other programmes and will print direct from organiser to the printer.
    Ron Steele

You must install the TWAIN driver:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/twain-installed-photoshop-elements-11.html
However, it may still not work, since some scanners are not compatible with the 64-bit PSE 12. Epsons have the most problems, unfortunately.

  • How to format and backup Mac & Windows to external drive

I have a LaCie 1 T external drive.  I want to use it to backup both my Mac partition and my Windows 7 partition.  The Windows 7 partition was created using Bootcamp.  I  formatted the drive with exfat from within Lion and then divided the drive into two equal partitions, one for Mac and one for PC. I tried to use Time Machine to back up the Mac data and it seemed to blow away the Mac partition which is no longer visible to Finder and consequently cannot be backed up to. I haven't tried to do anything about backing up the Windows 7 partition. As an aside, one online source I saw said I need to do this setup routine of the external drive from within Windows 7 in order for the drive to be accessible to both operating systems?
    Thanks for any help,

You need to find a Windows backup software that will work with Apple's Bootcamp partition.
On a Mac, Apple does a hack to "fool" Windows into thinking it's on a PC with a Master Boot Record Partition map.
Mac's can only boot from a GUID Partiton map, so there is a hybid MBR installed into the Bootcamp partiton when you set it up.
Traditional Windows backup software won't work when you try to restore Windows because it expects to be a PC with a MBR and runs Linux to restore Windows with. (a Mac can run Linux if Linux knows it's talking to a GUID)
And You can only image backup Windows, not make it a bootable copy on a external drive like you can do with OS X.
So the external drive needs to be formatted with a GUID Partition map and 2 partitions.
1: OS x Extended (J) so you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone Lion to it.
2: exFAT so you can save the Windows image file to it.
Now you need to find software that will run in OS X, take the Windows image of the Bootcamp partiton and restore it. There used to be great free software that did this, but since Lion rolled around a lot of good software wsn't updated anymore, guess people figured Apple is closing up like iPads and didn't see the sense in it.

  • How do I get my Mac to recognize my older Clickfree HD225 backup?

Greetings.  I am having difficulties getting my older Clickfree HD225 backup to work on my Mac.  I am a recent convert to Mac from an older Dell.  I purchased my Clickfree device in August 2009.  According to Clickfree themselves, it should work on a Mac or a PC, but not both.  Serial number of my Clickfree device confirms this statement.  I hooked it up to my old PC and deleted all the old information off the device.  Hooked it up to my Mac and it did recognize it, and it comes up with this statement:
    Welcome to Clickfree Backup
This Clickfree device is formatted for Microsoft Windows.  Please select one of the options below:
"Make my device work on Mac (format HFS)
So I click on that option and it appears to be doing something, but then the same box appears again.  So I click on it again and the same things happens, and so on, and so on.  It just doesn't seem to want to go to next step or format the device for the Mac.  Can anyone out there lend me some advise?  Can this work?  Or is it just a lost cause?  Thank you all for your time and assistance.

I guess you could try to erase and format it using Disk Utility (assuming it is seen)
Go to Applications>Utilities>DiskUtility, if the ClickFree shows in the sidebar, select it and choose erase from the tabs on the right side, choose Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) as the format and click erase. Then see if it works.

  • How can I get my mac to recognize my ethernet port?

When I try to directly connect to my router I cannot and the error is cable unplugged, when it is not and I plug the same cable connected to my router into my laptop (windows) right next to my iMac and it works fine so I know it is not an issue with the router or cable.  Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks,

Hi Cindy, first try a different Ethernet cable, despite the fact it works with another computer. Your Windows computer may have a slower port that works with that cable whereas your iMac might need a better cable.
If it still does not work try this:
Go to  menu > System Preferences and select Network. On the left column select Ethernet, then click the Advanced button.
Select the Hardware tab and on the dropdown menu next to "Configure" change it to "Manually". Make the rest look like this:
    Click OK, then Apply.
If this still results in "cable unplugged" it almost always means your iMac's Ethernet port is NG.

  • How can I get a Mac to run a LabVIEW VI that was created for Windows? (it calls DLL files)

This is for a spectrometer. A motor controller is connected by serial and a lock-in amplifier is connected through GPIB. I have a Windows version of the VIs I need to get it all running, but I need to get it running on a Mac. The program was written in LabVIEW 6.0.1 and I have both version of 6.1. Is there a type of file that Mac uses that are similar to DLLs? Is this even possible? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can open the VIs on a PC or Mac and double click on the DLL node.
It will show you the parameter info, the function name, path to the DLL,
    etc.
If you have the source code to the DLL, then make it on the mac using
the Metrowerks CodeWarrior compiler. If you don't have the source, then
you need to either shift to using diagram nodes exclusively or come up
with some other way of replacing the DLL.
For the details on compiling a DLL, you should look at your manual that
came with CodeWarrior and look at the CIN Manual or search online for
    something ...

  • How Do I Get Laptops (Mac+PC) to Share Data & Printer With "Main" Desktop?

My daughters are both home from school for the summer. How do I set it up so we they can use the wifi to share data and use the common printer?
My main computer is an iMac desktop -- running Tiger.
    I have the Airport Extreme.
My printer is plugged to the Airport.
I have a laptop that a friend set up for me -- also running Tiger. I just hit print and the documents print. And it has an icon in the dock that when I click it launches so I can see / share / transfer files. But I don't know how he set things up. So ...
Both of my daughters use the wifi to connect to the internet but I would like to take it the next step -- to print and data share.
One daughter has a MacBook -- running Tiger.
Her sister has PC running XP.
I'm sure there is a simple "how to" somewhere in the database but I can't seem to find.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • I have macbook pro 13 early 2011 and just got a lg 21:9 wide monitor, how do i get my mac to use the entire screen with distorting the picture? i already purchased mini dp to display port cable

I cannot get it too use entire screen. I have 3-4 inches on both sides. I did not buy a 29inch monitor to not use all of it

    MikeD304,
unless your MacBook Pro’s GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion, it won’t completely fill the 21:9 monitor without distortion.
(Here’s a hint: no MacBook Pro GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion.)
