I NEED to use my office pack with LION !! I downloaded it yesterday and today I find out I cannot open my .doc and .xls!! I DO NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER PACK!!

The only way for MS Office to work with Lion is to upgrade MS Office. You can get the older 2008 edition for $55

Your phone is in recovery mode. All data on it are already lost. You must connect your phone to your computer and restore through iTunes.

How do I get my E-Mail back up working ( I have internet )

Thunderbird is email client software that runs on YOUR computer. How does Verizon know there is a problem with it? Trick question. They don't. But they got you to go away and stop bugging them while their email system was not working.
There are 4 or 5 people on the forum complaining about Verizon problems the last two days.
What is keeping you from getting your email? Are you getting an error message of any kind? -
When i click on an icon it holds it down for a long time and then opens up different tabs instead of just opening up the icon
By "tabs", do you mean something like this -
If that is what you see, then you may be right-clicking on the icon instead of left-clicking on it.
Right-clicking or Control-clicking on an icon in the Dock will bring up a menu like that (it is a contextual menu, so its content varies a bit from program to program).
Usually, it is necessary to only click an icon in the Dock once in order to start up the program (if it has been quitted) or make it active (if it has not been quitted). -

You will have to install an app to your ipad that can open them. Then you can either use file sharing in itunes to transfere those files to your ipad. Or you can install icloud control panel on your pc, purchase apple's iwork applications, and save the files to icloud.

If you have an iPod touch or iPhone with iOS 4 or later, or an iPad, you can use iTunes to transfer files between your computer and an app on your device that supports file sharing.

Just upgraded to Lion, how can I use my microsoft office especially excel. I'm getting messages that it's no longer supported. This is a BIG problem. Help, please.
Apple has made a serious error not advising people when the Lion upgrade occurs that their present software may/will not be compatible and advise the user of such before and allow a opt out.
All you can do (besides upgrading all your software) is backup your data off the machine (not to TimeMachine) and disconnect all drives.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and erase your makers hard drive on the far left, (that's the entire drive of everything)
Partition tab: Option: GUID, format OS X extended and click apply so you get a new GUID (replacing the Lion one or trouble occurs later)
Quit and install 10.6, then go through setup and use the same name as before, then update to 10.6.8
Then c boot off the 10.6 disk again and use Disk Utility to Repair the disk the 10.6.8 update messed up.
Then install all your programs again from fresh sources and lastly your user files in the same main user folders as before (music, pictures, documents etc.)
Done as described will get you back just like it was before as close as possible, make SURE to use the same username or else your iTunes and other files get all messed up. Password and drive name can be different though if you wish.
Note: if you've upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6, then you don't get the free iLife as it's not on the 10.6.3 white disks, only on the disks that came with your machine. So that will have to be purchased and reinstalled or use Pacifist to extract it from the 10.5 disks.

Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

I, recently, purchased a new HP 4500 Printer and it came with a video-capture extension/plugin. Attempting to use it, the program informed me that I needed to be using, either, an EI or a Firefox Browser mentioning version 1.5 {I think it was} or later. The Firefox browser I was using was 3.something; so, everything was going along FINE. When I installed the video capture program, it added the plugin to the browser ~ PERFECTLY!!! I, also, had MANY other plugins that worked and that I used somewhat regularly!!! NOT ANY MORE!!! YOU and your TOTALLY INEPT, WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS" have STOLEN nearly HALF of my COMPUTER!!! I can, no longer, USE ANY OF THOSE PLUGINS, simply, because YOU "forgot" {let's say} to INCLUDE them in your new browser version 4. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THEM??? WHY DIDN'T *YOU* WANT ME TO BE ABLE TO USE THEM, ANY LONGER???

How do I get messages to go back to an AIM account? It's only seeing the iPad's Facetime email address and not seeing the old AIM account name that is on my desktop. I am using my iMac using iChat to talk to a newer iMac that doesn't have iChat. We had this working using Messages and Facetime (on the new machine) talking to my existing iChat account. One day last week, when Facetime rang, my kids answered on the iPad. Dang! Now it's all fouled up! The new iMac won't see my AIM account name and shows that I'm offline, because the iPad is off. We were able to call using "most recent call" in Facetime, but now I can't go and control that new iMac remotely to help with some email concerns the user is having. I'm trying to not personalize this too much, but it's grandkids talking to Grandma and Mom and Dad trying to solve new machine hiccups. Normally, I could just go in via iChat and control the other machine and troubleshoot, but I can't do it with Facetime only. My buddy list doesn't see the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?

I downloaded the new version of itunes and when i plug my phone into the computer and try and do something in itunes it wont let me because my device is synced to another itunes library. how do i get my old itunes back? or how can i sync my stuff into the new itunes with out deleting anything off my phone? But the library and playlists I had on the first computer are not showing up on this one, and when I log into the itunes store, it is not showing any of my recent purchases (like one I bought as soon as last night.)

Get a Step Count From Inside Your Script

After the recent Keynote update I find the application has started crashing during presentations. It might be slides with just pictures or slides with an object (arrow for example) appearing. The presentations were fine before - now getting crashes.
