How do I get my movies in geners on my Ipod?
I have sorted my movies in genres in my itunes library, but how do I get them in genres (as with the music) on my Ipod instead of just as a long list?
Is that possible to do?
sync?
stream?
valid format?

The file is an .mp4 and I have my iPod nano (3rd gen) plugged in and I have the 'manually manage music and videos' option selected on the summary tag. The problem is when I try to drag the .mp4 movie file from the Library to the Devices >> Movies, it doesn't show up. I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup either locally or on the cloud. Much of the music is from old vinyl and podcasts which are no longer available.
How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation) back onto the new hard drive on my pc.
I have been reluctant to install iTunes on the new hard drive out of fear that I will lose all the contents on the ipod if I try to synch to the new hard drive.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't, but you have a few alternatives.
Best option: If you made the movie on the DVD in iMovie (or even another editing application) and still have the project, go back to the project and export it for Apple TV (using the Apple TV preset)
Next best option: If you still have the original movie that you put on the DVD, open it in QuickTime and export it for Apple TV (using the Apple TV preset)
Worst option: Use something like Mpegstreamclip (Quicktime Mpeg2 playback component required) to convert the DVD to h264. -
I'm new to Mac. I have an iPhone and a Mac Mini. My original iTunes was on a Windows computer that crashed. So, all of my iTunes Music and Movies are gone. How do I get the movies and music from my iPhone to the new Mac Mini?
If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help. Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

Films are currently a one-time only download from the store. If they are no longer on your computer's iTunes then have you got them on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch that you can copy them back from via File > Transfer Purchases ? If not then have you got them on a backup (e.g. external drive) that you can copy them back onto your computer from and then back into iTunes via File > Add File To Library ?

I rented a movie through ITunes on my I-pad. I'd now like to play it on my big screen TV. I do not have the cables to connect the I-pad to the TV, but I do have the cables to connect my MacBook Pro laptop to the TV. How do I get the movie from the I-pad to the laptop. It does not come up anywhere on the Itunes application on my laptop.

Firstly iTunes and iCloud are different things, movies are handled by iTunes.
iTunes now has iTunes in the cloud and iTunes Match, but neither deals with movies. Your purchased movies will need to be copied from your old computer to your new one. -
My movie is not downloading but the movie extras are, how do i get the movie back without repurchasing it? I've tried searching through my available downloads but only the extras showed up not the movie. All my other movies are there including the extras from the movie. I really want the movie & I don't want to repurchase it if I can avoid it.
When I tried to get it through my Purchased in iTunes - iStore it says
" You have already purchased this item"
"You have alreaady purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Avaliable Downloads from the Store menu."
Which leads me right back to having all the other tv shows & movies that aren't on my laptop downloading but not the actual movie I want. I already have the extras but I really would like the movie .
Any help or advice would be appreciated

After copying a movie to the harddisk of my MacBook I wanted to also copy it to my iPad, but for this you first have to copy it to the library in iTunes, but this doesn't seem to be working. So how can I get this movie to the library ? And to the iPad ?
How is it not working? And how are you doing it? Drag the movie onto the iTunes icon on the Dock... what happens?
